Since learning more about feminism I realise the course did not adhere to the standards and principles I myself aspire to. Therefore I would not recommend it to others.

Joining UPFRONT has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my personal growth. The lessons I’ve learned aren’t just things I think about in passing - they’re now part of my daily routine and they’ve helped me show up stronger every single day.

From the very first session, I learned how to set boundaries without feeling guilty, something I now do automatically. I used to overextend myself and say yes to everything, but now I prioritise my needs and don’t hesitate to say no when necessary. It’s made a huge difference in how I feel about my time and energy. Another big takeaway was learning how to speak up confidently in any situation. Whether it’s a work meeting, a conversation with friends, or even a casual chat, I’ve stopped holding back my thoughts and opinions. I’ve gained a new level of clarity about who I am and what I want, and now I communicate it without hesitation.

The UPFRONT community has also played a huge role in making these changes stick. Every day, I’m inspired by others who are also on their growth journey, and that sense of support is always there to keep me motivated.

I was a member of the (now shut down) online community hosted by Upfront. During my time there a group of us raised concerns with the founder after a conference run by Upfront got some negative feedback from a trans non binary person. Their feedback - about there being no effort to make the space feel more inclusive and leaving in tears - was quickly deleted from the forum.

When more of us pointed this out, our posts were taken down and many of us removed from the community. We organised as a group to engage the founder, asking for a conversation and suggesting ways she could respond to our collective concerns. When many of us voiced the same concerns, the online forum was suddenly shut down. When we failed to get a response to our collective letter to the founder, we shared our concerns publicly. the founder responded agressively, threatening legal action and going onto intimidate a member of our group who was undergoing cancer treatment at the end, threatening to sue her personally if we continued to keep our concerns about Upfront in the public domain.

This is a company that espouses feminism, anti racism, etc but is deeply problematic at its core and does not live by its professed values. The founder encourages women to speak up for themselves, yet responded by intimidation and bullying when we did in fact do this in response to her behaviour.

Furthermore, there was a clear pattern of pressuring people to share their vulnerable stories and using this (often without permission) as marketing material.

The founder is very good at marketing and promotion and selling products. However, there is no real care behind the proposition. The Upfront 'community' is a means to generate profit and content and has no interest in responding to well intended and gentle feedback from the numerous, diverse people that have had difficult experiences with this company.

What a terrific waste of my time and energy. On the surface the company values are promising, but it’s all mouth and no trouser. They charge a staggering amount of money for a flimsy product and offer very little tangible value - their content is little more than a curation of other people’s work, which could be personally gathered at little to no cost. Neo-liberal “feminism” at its worst.
