Well Pharmacy incompetence

I’m somewhat surprised seeing the number of4&5 star ratings for Well Pharmacy. Obviously the do not refer to the Well in my town of Alnwick Northumberland as this branch must be the most badly managed branch in the country.
Once again they have failed to supply my medication on time. Last month I was sent a text that my medication was ready so the following morning I went to collect it only to find the branch closed. After banging on the door a young lady came out and told me she couldn’t open and supply medication because the senior assistant and the Pharmacist hadn’t turned up for work, she had contacted the area manager but she was unaware of the problem.
This month (June) went this morning to see when my monthly medication would be ready and was told this afternoon so returned at 17:00 to be told that their system was down therefore they didn’t know where prescriptions were.
I have previously complained to Well but no response although I was told they would get back to me.
How can this company maintain its NHS licence/ accreditation is a mystery to me as the management incompetence is unbelievable.

Cheerful, friendly and efficient

The pharmacy was open on Easter Sunday and the pharmacist was able to supply me with an emergency supply of tablets. She was very cheerful, friendly and efficient and her assistance was very much appreciated.

Wholly incompetent

Awful to tell patients wrong information that they don't have a prescription and the patient ended up going to emergency services in the evening. The worst is that no one would pick up the phone after ringing for hours!!!!

I don’t get my scripts from Well

I don’t get my scripts from Well, but I do use it sometimes for over the counter meds.
I can certainly appreciate why people are so frustrated with the service and extremely long waits for items that have already been advised as available. Why does Well Alnwick not install a prescription collection point outside the premises such as Morpeth has that can be accessed out of hours with a specific and secure texted access PIN number?

Just go to Boots.

Slow, low stock, incredibly slow. Staff don’t act like they care in the slightest.

They’ll tell you there’s a “supply shortage” every time. There isn’t, just go to boots.

Pretty dire. Never answer the phone, so impossible to check if prescription is ready, and last time missed an item so had to return

DISGRACEFUL DISGUSTING PHARMACY YET AGAIN MISSING ITEMS FROM MY MONTHLY REPEAT SCRIPT.
PHONE JUST RINGS THEN WHILE RINGING GOES TO BUSY.
YET AGAIN NEED MEDS FOR TOMORROW AND WON'T HAVE THEM. COMPANY NEEDS STRIKING OFF CLOSED DOWN.

Slow!

Only one member of staff working! Queues out the door. Medication not ordered (even though it was promised via a phone call) Very, very slow service and uncaring staff. Would not recommend.

Closed no explanation!!

I turned up today to see a scruffy notice pinned to the door saying closed until further notice. No advice how to get prescriptions, not an ounce of concern for patients. This is the 2nd unplanned and unexplained closure. Furthermore the customer space is plain dirty, the floor hasn't been cleaned for months. This company is a shambles

I would give no stars if I could.

I would give no stars if I could.
Went to pick up prescription (at the Alnwick Northumberland branch) at 4:30pm.
Queue of about 8 people outside ( as the place has only room for one customer!!)
ONE HOUR later I got my prescription. By then, absolutely frozen! Queue of 14 people still waiting outside.
This is an absolutely shocking and disgraceful “service”. Obviously grossly understaffed ( or grossly incompetent staff).
Will never go there again and would strongly advise no one else to go. God knows what will happen to old people in winter- hypothermia?

Absolutely disgusting

Absolutely disgusting. After almost 33 attempts of trying to get through to the Pharmacy they eventually answered. Describing the way they spoke to me as being rude is an extreme understatement. The Pharmacist on shift in particular was absolutely disgusting and highly unprofessional. I have never dealt with a more incompetent, uncaring and abusive pharmacy in all of my life. I have genuine concerns for any patient who use this Pharmacy and I will be reporting to NHS England. What an utter disgrace.

Rubbish persistent service

The service we get at the Alnwick pharmacy is terrible.
We have our order delivered each month, but many times items are missing.
Today for example, none of my regular prescription was delivered and only half of my husband's prescription, despite having rung on Friday to confirm the delivery!
I have now spent TWO hours trying to contact them but they don't answer and the phone is cut off!
If you have another chemist to choose, then do not use WELL PHARMACY.

Well pharmacy in Alnwick never answer…

Well pharmacy in Alnwick never answer their phone. Never. It just keeps ringing and eventually stops. Sometimes it’s necessary to call ahead and find out if they have processed a prescription before going in to collect it, but you can’t do that with this pharmacy because their phone is an ornamental device.
