Yet again Ben and the team in Ilkley really helped me out with my bike (rear mech setup).

I like that not only is my bike running so much smoother but that they also take the time to explain what was wrong, how that effected my cycling and also what they did to fix it

I do my own servicing but it goes to show that it's still always worth taking into a professional from time to time to make sure it's all good

Put my bike in for their Red service at Ilkley shop which is £129 . Left bike with them but then didn’t hear anything for a week so had to call them was then told it shouldn’t be long . Got a call 25 mins later saying it was ready to pick up which I thought was too quick for the comprehensive Red service . Got the bike home to check it over and nothing had been done to the bike . Total rip off and I think they thought they could just take advantage of me. No proper service was done not sure they realised I’m an experienced cyclist who cannot be conned , do not use this company

I purchased a pair of expensive bib tights from them which developed a problem, the team at Wheelbase helped me resolve the issue with the manufacturer. Great customer service.

I took my bike into Wheelbase Ilkley, to have the gears looked at as they were not working properly. My issue was resolved really quickly, plus Liam did further tweaks, checks and alignment on my bike proactively which was much appreciated. Thank you!

Just feel I need to write a short review for the workshop in Ilkley but also mention Staveley.
My e mountain bike is now 8 years old. I have done over 6k miles on it. I thought it might be going to the ebike graveyard but not so. New parcel/service kit in the motor, set of cogs and chain and it is back and running feeling tight and good again. I appreciate the effort to get it back on the road. These people care.
I bought a new bike Cube Reaction hard tail and picked that up from Staveley as they had one in my size. Performance of this company is exceptional. Knowledgeable staff, good service and communication. I now have two similar Cube bikes from them and have been delighted with both. The upgrade with an 800W battery is awesome. 70km in hilly terrain with 53% of the battery remaining. Many improvements on the new bike with wires less visible and improved performance in terms of shifter/gears/computer/brakes. Just £600 more expensive after 8 years. Fabulous value for money.

Great customer service and mail order experience from day 1 of ordering my new bike, receiving the bike with damage caused in transport, returning the bike and getting another sent to me as a replacement.
The replacement bike was packed with extra padding to ensure it arrived without any damage.
Dealing with Sam, from mail order was effortless and a true asset to the wheelbase brand.

Bought a bike from here a while ago. I knew what I wanted, I'd be watching the internet for a while and they ended up having a great deal on it. I rode through to the shop and they helped me find which size frame would suit me the best (turns out not the one recommended by the manufacturer based on my height). They were really patient answering all my questions, helping me sort out options for payment etc. I really appreciated that they didn't push any more expensive options or anything, just gave me all the information I needed.
When I went back to collect the bike, I'm pretty sure they'd recorded the measurements from my old bike. They didn't mention they'd done this, but when I got home and checked, the saddle height was an exact match, an unlikely coincidence.
The bike came with a free service once the cables and everything had bedded in, and when I phoned to book this in they told me to just turn up, said it was fine to ride it in rather than drive (thankfully it was dry, so the bike stayed clean). Again, they were really helpful, started work as soon as I handed them the bike, and went above and beyond, teaching me to work on disc brakes, cutting down the steerer tube, looking in to a couple of minor issues I'd had, and even correcting my ham-fisted attempts at attaching accessories (again they didn't mention this until I asked, very polite).
While I was waiting, one of the staff started asking about whether I liked the bike, etc. I'm loving it, but mentioned the wheels aren't great (it's a relatively entry-level road bike: I didn't expect the wheels to be good). He recommended an excellent upgrade that they had a brilliant offer on. If I had the money to be upgrading my bike, I probably would, but again he didn't try to hard-sell anything, and once I said I couldn't really afford to upgrade right now he didn't press the issue. Which of course means that if/when my bank balance recovers, I'll be heading back to Ilkley...

Fast efficient customer service, good communication and some very good prices, would recommend dealing with Wheelbase.

I popped in last weekend as I had a mechanical issue I needed some help with and didn’t have the appropriate tool. Even though they were near closing time they were super helpful and the mechanics are top notch.

Speedy service delivering a well set up bike at a decent price.

Called Wheelbase Ilkley today after inadvertently popping a hydraulic piston out whilst attempting a bit of a home service. Took the bike in and couldn't have been more attentive and helpful. The technician dropped what he was doing and within 30 minutes, had me back on the road.
This is not the first time I've been in with issues and I cannot speak highly enough of the customer service and advice.

I had an issue with a Merida e-road bike under warranty from an online supplier. Ben in the service dept at Wheelbase Ilkley was so helpful, well informed and offered to send the bike back on my behalf. He kept me informed throughout. He solved a difficult problem for me and I couldn't be more grateful. I'll be back to Wheelbase at Ilkley for my cycling needs in future.

Had 2 defective SRAM AXS rear mechs that I had not purchased from Wheelbase Ilkley (though I have bought at least 2 bikes and other things there over the years). When I explained the problem I was having, they volunteered to return them to SRAM for warranty replacement, even though one of them was probably outside the warranty period and in pieces from my failed effort to repair it. Amazingly, within a few weeks, I received replacement - new - parts. Thank you, Wheelbase Ilkley and, of course, SRAM!

Amazing service from Wheelbase Ilkley we dropped in this week whilst on our 1000 mile 19 day charity ride from Bristol to Aberdeen with a gearing problem. They jumped on it straight away and had us back on the road within half hour. Thanks to the mechanic crew.

Wheelbase @ Ilkley were fantastic when I went in looking for a new road bike. Loads of bikes from a great range of manufacturers on display, fantastic knowledgeable and helpful staff. I was even invited to bring my own shoes and pedals in with me and was able to test ride a bike I was interested in purchasing which was invaluable, it greatly helped with the buying process. A few tweaks to the setup were made in store by the staff to get everything just right. Special mention to Bernie who was brilliant throughout the whole process. It was evident the aftercare is also excellent, I was chatting to another customer who had brought her bike in with an issue and she spoke very highly of them. And last but not least the price, the bike was discounted which made Wheelbase very competitive beating all other retailers on this model. In fact I’d say I’d be prepared to purchase from Wheelbase again even if they weren’t the cheapest option as the level of service and expertise would justify it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wheelbase whether you’re buying in store or on-line.
