Went to the restaurant for Sunday lunch, to say the food was mediocre was to give too much credit. The beef was very chewy and not cooked enough, the lamb I was told tasted nothing like lamb, the pork was very fatty, very disappointing.
For what it was the food was totally overpriced, the service charge was taken without our knowledge, £14.
The staff were nice, however I don't expect to be paying part of their wages in the bill, I always leave a tip but will not do so again, meal came to just under £150 totally not worth it.
Don't waste your money!!!

Went in to order food and got the rudest obnoxious service I've ever experienced. Avoid

Stayed for one night, evening meal and breakfast.
Staff - reception, bar and restaurant staff all very friendly, couldn’t help enough, they were all excellent.
Food - all meals we had were lovely, both in taste and presentation, also value for money.
Rooms - very tired and dated and far from clean. Bedding thankfully was clean, but windows, bathrooms, generally everything else was dirty.
Radiators were stuck on high, even in the middle of winter, I had all windows and doors open and the fan on but still too hot! Staff had said there were issues with the heating as a few weeks before it was cold!
I understand the hotel is old but it appears the owners have lost love for this hotel. A deep clean of each room and fresh paint wouldn’t go amiss to turn this into a much better place to stay

We didn’t stay at the hotel but we did book, at short notice, a table for their festive lunch and it was delightful. The food arrived promptly, was expertly prepared and served by polite, cheerful staff. It was excellent value too. The restaurant is stylishly appointed and we will certainly go back to take advantage of the 25% winter reduction on our next visit.

Beautiful stay at the original white hart in ringwood. The room was basic but very adequate and emma served breakfast to my husband and I with a smile. Nothing is too much trouble as staff go out of their way to ensure your stay goes smoothly. Very friendly atmosphere and very good value for money. Definitely will return and highly recommend. Thank you to everyone at the original white hart.

Stayed for 1 night. Walking to the room and the red flags already appeared. The carpets in the hallways are filthy and had a stale and damp smell. The room was small and dark. There are no main lights on the ceiling, like any normal room, only 1 bedside lamp next to the bed, so the room is mostly dark.

The bathroom, ridiculously small. You sit on the toilet and you can't close the door as your left knee is in the way. The shower was dirty and covered in black mould. The extract fan has never seen a cleaning cloth. The mattress was hard and springy and the noise from both inside and outside the hotel was unbearable.

Breakfast, also disappointing. Not wasting more of my life writing down all the filth, so save your money and go somewhere else...

finish! James was amazing on the phone and that is why I booked! Got to the hotel late after 9 pm and nothing was too much trouble. Exceptional service from Clare and Alannah! Clare took my heavy bags to the room (up
stairs) while Clare organised with the lovely chef my club sandwich! Even though they had stopped serving food! Honestly I am

This used to be one of the best local restaurants but has got steadily worse since covid, poor training means poor service. Had an early lunch today eggs royale unfortunately my wife’s eggs were not cooked properly, I told the waitress whose reply was Ooh! And that was it , no sorry, no offer to reduce bill no free coffee just Ooh! It’s a shame to see how the mighty have fallen I will not be back

Unfortunately, my recent experience at Antlers Restaurant was a real letdown. From the moment we arrived, the staff seemed completely disinterested—there was no warmth, no enthusiasm, and no sense of genuine hospitality.

Service was incredibly slow, with long waits between courses and no real communication or attentiveness throughout. It felt as though the team just wasn’t engaged or motivated.

As for the food, it was extremely disappointing. Lacking in flavour and quality it fell far short of what you’d expect—especially given the premium pricing on the menu.

Overall, the experience didn’t reflect the standards Antlers seems to market itself on, and certainly didn’t justify the cost. A real shame, as it has potential—but sadly, that didn’t come through on this visit.

Visited last year . Ignore the negative reviews. The hotel has been refurbished. And we have stayed at least 5 times at the white hart. It's location is excellent. And the staff were excellent. Also the food as always been very good .

This is a first for us as we have never had to make a bad review for any Hotel we have stayed in. Truly terrible nights sleep, i.e. didn't get any! Live loud music from a female pub singer until 1'clock am in the morning. This is the last thing you expect from any hotel, especially after a long car journey, we just wanted to relax. Phone not working in the room so could not contact anyone about the noise - (no staff downstairs either to speak to about the loud music levels). Seems it is an ongoing problem at this hotel, as many other reviewers mention its like this at any time of year. This is a 3-star hotel at best, the room was small, overheated, poorly maintained (loose bathroom sink and no blinds at the clear bathroom window, so no privacy). Would not recommend staying here unless you like very loud music and below average rooms.

Beautiful room overlooking the Cathedral. Dinner was excellent and so was the breakfast. Very friendly and pleasant staff. Superb location.

We have been staying at the White Hart for over 5 years during the Steampunk Festival Weekend. We've enjoyed every stay except for August 2024. We received a call from the White Hart the day before confirming they were looking forward to our stay and we could have our usual room. When we arrived our room was not ready and in fact the whole of that area was closed off being refurbished. We have the same room every year as it's easier to access for my disability. The room we were given was very small and not easy to move around with my disability. This was the only one room available near the lift.
The room wasn't cleaned to a hotel standard and dirty cups were left in our room on the second day.
Breakfast was a shambles every day and people were waiting over an hour and then getting burnt food or the wrong food. Staff were being shouted at and staff and customers quite upset. There wasn't much improvement during the 5 day stay. No one should experience what we saw especially when you are on holiday.
We did complain and received a small amount of compensation. No money can remove the memories of our stay at the White Hart.
The White Hart have now increased their hotel stay for the same weekend in 2025 from around £155 to £229 per night. Although the White Hart is in a perfect spot for the August Steampunk bank holiday weekend, I cannot justify paying these exorbitant charges. It's such a shame as it put a dampener on the whole weekend.
The hotel manager was supposed to cal me to let me know if they could offer a better price for the weekend as we are regular long standing customers. I'm still waiting!
It's such a shame you used to be so good. What went wrong?

After all the money spent on refurbishing this hotel you think they would invest in more for snagging not the best experience staying here the staff did their best. Room not properly cleaned or hoovered in the 8 night stay breakfast was a complete shambles with some guests waiting over an hour for it. Next years prices are extortionate on the same room won’t be returning after staying as a guest for 5 years

We went to the bar which was we were told full. We were a group of ladies in their 40s who were entirely sober. We offered to sit at the seats at the bar and were told nobody was allowed to use them. We then went to Antlers, their restaurant next door, and asked if we could order pudding and a glass of wine (it was after 9pm). We were given a table and did manage to order. However the service was entirely lacklustre, unhelpful and not at all customer focused. Staff were intent on saying no to everything and belittling the customer wherever possible. I won’t recommend to anyone which is a shame as the hotel is in a great setting.

Stayed here 4/12/23 in a single room.
Cost £55 and a tenner would be plenty! Room was full of pubic hair, bits of paper tissue on the floor. Toilet bowl still had poo etched on it!!! Curtains draped off a wire! I didn't dare to look at anything else as I was was stranded in Exeter due to trains not running because the lines were flooded. Slept in my clothes to be on the safe side.

My friend and I popped in, on spec, with no prior knowledge, just for lunch on a day out in Lincoln. We sat in the bar, in a warm & welcoming atmosphere and received attention from all four of the staff on duty, who were lovely.
The young man who served us engaged us in a bit of banter about films and took our order. The food was excellent (veggie toasted sandwich and a croque monsieur) and looked and smelled very appetising. Everything done with a smile and very professional. Will definitely visit again when in Lincoln.

Stayed at the Original white in Ringwood, the price of the room and the size was ridiculous. The room was filthy, mould on the skating boards [ have pictures). The mattrass towards the door had a massive hole in it found out when I sat on the bed and got poked. In the early hours of the morning around 6 am two guys are dragging bins and talking on top.of their voice. Worst hotel I ever stayed in.
