Been in this store a handful of times and each time when looking for what I need the staff have been very helpful and are always friendly!

Laminate Flooring Not Fit for Purpose & Poor Customer Service
I purchased laminate flooring from the Wickes store in Chippenham and experienced problems almost immediately. From the outset, everything was done correctly: we purchased the correct underlay for our subfloor as specified in the instruction leaflet and followed all installation guidelines precisely. The flooring was an easy-click system, installed without force, with adequate expansion gaps around the edges, and the boards were properly staggered. Prior to installation, the flooring was left to acclimatise in the room for three weeks.
Despite this, serious issues developed soon after installation. Gaps began appearing, there was movement at almost every joint, and the surface became uneven, with boards sitting higher than adjacent ones. Walking on it barefoot was uncomfortable and unsafe, as the raised edges felt sharp. The entire floor also creaked constantly, sounding like thin ice underfoot. This flooring was clearly not fit for purpose.
I raised a complaint with Wickes Chippenham within 30 days of purchase, but was repeatedly told to contact the manufacturer. I explained that under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, my contract is with the retailer — not the manufacturer — yet the store continued to refuse responsibility.
After three months of back-and-forth emails, Wickes still insisted the issue was my fault. Their customer service was extremely poor, and I was left with no choice but to cut my losses, rip the flooring up, and replace it with carpet.
If you experience a problem with a product from this store, be prepared for a long and frustrating process. They will do everything possible to fob you off and avoid taking responsibility.

Update regarding ongoing issues with laminate flooring purchased from Wickes Chippenham.
It is notable that Wickes responded publicly within hours of my review being posted; unfortunately, this level of responsiveness was not shown when handling my complaint directly. Over a period of three months, I experienced repeated delays and back-and-forth communication, ultimately being told that the issue was deemed my fault.
This is disappointing and reflects poorly on customer service standards. If Wickes wishes to resolve this matter appropriately, I believe a refund of £300, along with compensation for the time, stress, and inconvenience caused, would be a fair outcome.

Red Dragon have done a lovely job on new shower room, sink and toilet. They have gone above and beyond to make it look so special. Simon and his team are very professional and efficient.

Wickes, Where do I start with what went wrong!

Basically one of your delivery lorries that was delivering to my neighbours house reversed into my garden wall and porch roof causing damage to my property.
If only I could post the cctv footage on here for all to see then you would all know how serious the matter is.
The accident happened on the 21st of October at around midday, I got home around 14:45 just after my wife was greeted by a neighbour and lots of broken plastic over our drive way.
Our neighbour was offering the details of the driver who hit my house and wanted to deal direct with me and not through the company insurance I’m gathering as I didn’t call him to find out as the severity of the damage was there to be seen and maybe being structural and not just cosmetic like he thought and said on the cctv thinking it was just an end cap on the guttering that he had broken off.
I got straight into my car and went to my local beach in Chippenham around 15:30 to speak to a the branch manager who for some reason knowing the severity of what had happened showed no interest in coming off of a phone call up in his office to come and find out what actually happened! He sent the poor girl back down to the shop floor to tell me it wasn’t a Wickes vehicle that hit my house but a different delivery company and that they will be in touch after the girl took my details to pass on to them.
I found this funny considering the lorry had Wickes written all over it.
I did get a phone call the next day from City Sprints and the chap was very helpful and reassured me that it wasn’t a vehicle that belonged to them that delivered to my postcode and then after presenting them with video footage a registration number of the lorry they confirmed it belonged to Wickes and delivering out of my local Chippenham branch.
I then received a phone call from the branch manager who did apologise for not coming down to see me when I entered branch the day before but believe me I did voice my concerns at being fobbed off.
I then after an hour or so from getting off of call with him receive a phone call from Tim Byrne at Wincanton who by the way has been fantastically helpful.
The only problem was I have had to do all of the ringing around in my own time totalling up to nearly 5 hours! This isn’t great when you are self employed and interrupting my day of work and losing money.
I was given an insurance number to ring by Tim so did straight away following his advice stating it may speed up the process. On doing so the vehicle in question wasn’t insured with the company but after providing the reg number they gave me the phone number of who it was insured with and I then had to ring them.
I rang them to only be told that because it’s a building the lorry hit it
I will need to ring a different company! And at this point I was tearing my hair out.
I rang Tim again who like I said has been fantastic in helping me, where he took over and contacted the relevant insurance company stating that my case is urgent and needs to sorted quickly.

We are now 1 day away of it being 1 month on from the accident and the frustrating thing about it all is that my neighbour who’s delivery it was has had his kitchen fitted and my property still has broken roof tiles a damaged verge and a cracked garden wall all allowing the bad weather we are having at the minute enter my building !
Don’t panic too much Wickes! I fixed the gutter and covered the roof tiles over with a sheet the next day as I would have hard about a million gallons of water pouring in my house by now and she’d loads of water all over our car if I hadn’t.

So here we go again! Insurance company number 1,2,3,4 or 5 I can’t remember as I have lost count contacted me for a change asking for 2 quotes to repair the damage and has now been provided to them, so I’m hoping that my roof and wall can be fixed as soon as the claim has been processed I will be informed as and when the repairs can be started.

What with emails, phone calls and my time meeting builders and roofers for quotes , plus repairing my gutter and covering the tiles I am probably totalling around 8 hours of time I will never get back!
I am hoping that the finish line is insight as it has been a process I really do not want to go through again!

Wickes you really do need to sort out how you deal with the kind of issues I have had to deal with and possibly the insurance companies you use in the future.

I’m looking forward to see what sort of reply I get from Wickes and if I am fobbed off again with just a sorry for your experiences.

Wickes kept in contact all throughout the installation of my kitchen. I found them very professional. Simon and the team from Red Dragon (Andy and Ben) were amazing. They made sure that the fitting went smoothly and explained each process as the kitchen progressed. I am very happy and would recommend Wickes and Red Dragon Home Improvements.

Having had a less than satisfactory experience at a different branch, we went by chance to Wickes at Chippenham to look for a new kitchen. Our kitchen designer Luke Stone was personable & very professional. He came to our home a few days later, measured up & offered some really good & practical changes. We knew what we wanted, having looked at the really lovely display kitchens. We confirmed our order & were then contacted by the independent kitchen fitter, Matt Lewis-May. Our lovely new kitchen was completed a month ago & we are really thrilled. Although a kitchen is possibly the worst thing in the home to be replaced ( necessary mess, dust etc which was unavoidable), Matt was a pleasure to have in the house & completed our kitchen in 10 days. The only issue was with Wickes deliveries - promises were made to contact us/message/text the night before a delivery was made to ensure that we were available & the components stored correctly (there were a lot of bits!). They didn’t do this, which caused consternation to us & the fitter. However, they were pleasant to deal with on the phone. Three panels were damaged (in production) but replaced promptly.
Luke kept in touch between ordering and completion & we were able to contact him for advice.
It’s really been a great experience from all involved & based on our dealings with Wickes & Matt Lewis-May, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

At checkout, Wickes, Bumpers farm, Nr Chippenham, the server on till 1 at 1602hrs accused me of saying something that I had not said. When I asked him to clarify what he was talking about, I explained that he must have overheard someone else's conversation, but he offered no sign of an apology.
Sullen, begrudging, rude service - an unpleasant experience in all.

Excellent service from design to fitting by Simon and his Red Dragon team! Really pleased with the quality!

Excellent kitchen installers Red Dragon and Simon Thomas, were prompt and helpful in coming for a site visit. They had very good communication throughout the project. All staff were polite and very hard working Work was completed on time to a very good standard, I highly recommend this company.

We recently purchased a Wickes kitchen and had it fitted by there approved fitters (Red Dragon - Simon the boss came straight around when the job was allocated to him to discuss the fit). Although the kitchen started a couple of weeks later than promised which caused us a few issues logistically as our rental flat stopped so we ended up camping out in one of the rooms while the kitchen was being fitted and we had to delay our removals. Putting that to one side the kitchen fitter (Andy) was brilliant, great attention to detail and did a great job. We are super pleased with the results. The design process was excellent thanks to Kerry and we love the material choices we made and a kitchen is only as good as the fitting which was done very well by the Red Dragon team.
Overall very pleased.
Watch outs: be flexible with expected start and completion dates and be prepared for the fitting costs to be as much as the kitchen itself

Wickes design consultant Wayne could not have been more helpful and the same goes for their Customer Service department. After a late start through no fault of their own Red Dragon’s (Wickes sourced installation company) employee Cyprian has done an amazing job on fitting a totally new bathroom. He had to strip everything out and then install everything from flooring, tiles, radiator and all the bathroom fittings. His work ethic, which has to be a Red Dragon’s installer requirement, is outstanding. Throughout the process Red Dragon employees have made the somewhat lengthy process of having a new bathroom well worth doing. Would I use them again without a doubt, especially if they would assign Cyprian to the job. Wickes’s would definitely get my custom again, they made choice of items etc very straightforward and the deliveries were very well communicated about and actioned.

Luke Stone, our design consultant, did a fantastic job in designing our kitchen and helping us to get everything we really wanted to fit into such a small space while still feeling spacious.

Kerry and Barrie at Wickes have been great support and given great advice and Simon, Kiron and the Red Dragon team picked up my Bathroom refit at short notice, prioritised getting it done for me, and have been responsive, communicative and helpful throughout. Great on-site bathroom work by all, lion's share of it by Catalin and his colleague (John, I think!).

I was helped by a wonderfully polite and helpful young man called Luke Stone, Design Consultant. He gave brilliant advice without being overbearing and helped me match the products (not my strong point lol). He also helped me balance what I wanted with budget. He didn't chase me when I needed time to decide. I would say I also went to another national supplier who were less than helpful. They didn't have half the stuff I was interested in despite it being in their catalogue and all I got was, "it's discontinued"! There price was comparable but their service was dire. Luke was the reason I chose Wickes. He is a very valuable asset to your company. I would also say I was very pleased with the knowledge and friendliness of the other in store staff. Also your ability to store this for up to 6 months was incredibly helpful.

Recently purchased a new kitchen from Wickes in Chippenham and cannot fault them. Luke was excellent and very thorough at every step if the way. The V plans reflected everything we had requested as a wish list.

The support and advice received from Luke was great - very clear, helpful and took into account all of our wishes
