I ordered a Vacmaster air mover from Wickes in Northampton. I travelled 12 miles to collect it.

The box had an outer sleeve so I didn't realise until I got home that it was used. The seal was broken, no instructions, no paperwork for the guarantee and it is obvious it is not new.

If I wanted a second hand one I would have gone to eBay.

Do not sell me used items as new, Trading Standards need to be informed about this, as does the manufacturer.

This is absolutely unacceptable.

If i could give no stars I would, my husband and I purchased a bathroom from wickes in Northampton and we were extremely impressed with the work and therefore gave a glowing review, however 12months later a problem occurred with the cistern flush system, no5 stars here ! The details of our problem would be far to tedious and boring to explain but ,I wouldn't wish our customer service debarcle on anybody !!
Our problem started on the 29th March , and 45days later still no plumber ,after numerous phone calls to absolutely useless people, who have obviously all been trained to the same stupid standard,ignorant,"err I don't know"couldnt care less attitude with apparently no contact to the outside world ,they didn't have a clue ,I think the only person I didn't speak to was the cleaner! I sent 3 emails to the CEO after tracking down the previous one who kindly gave the correct address, and 16 other emails to wickes warranty dept ,of which I received 3 responses all of which useless.
As my Husband is disabled, our family intervened,and fitted the cistern part for us ,as he couldn't stand to hear the water noise of it just flushing away .We must have wasted gallons ,which we found horrendous apart from the cost .I pointed this out in my emails also that my husband was disabled,I threatened soacial media exposure,local radio and local newspapers, water off a ducks back literally, nobody could have given a damn.
This company does not deserve your hard earned money ,we have never ever dealt with such a money grabbing ,dysfunctional bunch of so called knowledgeable staff ,how do they get these jobs ? I hope that if you do have the misfortune to order a bathroom or kitchen from them that you never have to use your guarantee as it is not worth the paper it's written on .Oh and just to top it off ,a week later a builder contacted me to say he had been given the job of coming to give us a new tap!!!🤬🤬 seriously!!!.
Needless to say we weren't allowed any compensation as under their T&C ....I quote "they would have got around to doing the repair " ...?
In a nutshell don't waste your money and if you do pray nothing goes wrong !!!😥😥

Went into this store today to obtain some timber for a project I am working on. I was not entirely sure on what I needed so I spoke to a young man named Rob who helped me out with his knowledge and gave me advice on which wood would be the best option for what I am doing. I would have been blindsided without his help on this matter as I am utterly clueless! What a wonderful employee with excellent knowledge.

The woman who was there to help us was very abrasive and snappy with how she explained things and called over another worker and kept cutting us off but the worker she called over was extremely helpful and lovely.

Great customer service from a nice polite lad named Dan he helped me find tiles that would go well with my new place. Fantastic experience he also said he could put them for delivery for me, but I did not need delivery as I had a big enough car but highly recommended this store polite and smiling lad

Placed and collected my order today after not having any coving in my local store, 1 of the items where damaged and the store called me within minutes of placing the order to avoid a wasted trip we managed to resolve it over the phone and I got the items I needed quickly

I collected my on-line order in store just before 11am this morning, there was no staff on the collection point, but there was 3 ladies chatting and giggling wearing white t-shirts standing behind the tills with a 4th lady taking photos on her phone...So I stood in the logical place several steps back from the till and the staff, I was initially being ignored and then the lady taking the pics (who turned out to be Tatyana the store manager) turned and said " We will be with you in a second, this is for charity“ once she was free she stepped over to me and sarcastically asked how she could help? I said to her that I felt the service in the shop had become bad which she clearly did not like and tried to defend that I was ignored and in the wrong place for collection.

When I entered the shop there was no staff on the collection counter or the till by the collection counter, so as I said “I stood in the logical area waiting for assistance”, where there were 4 members of staff, she then said I did not make it clear as to what I wanted! Although I had my phone open in my hands ready to give the order details. She then tried to attack my decision to say what I said, by saying as soon as she spoke to me I complained! As I replied to her, I did not complain I responded to her question with a statement.

I feel that she was trying to belittle me, especially since during the whole thing she just smirked all the way through thinking she was being smart and kept trying to speak over me and not allow me to respond and walk away. When it was over she then walked away and I could clearly see that she shook her head at another customer.

I can only say that if this is the standard of manager and her behaviour towards customers, I am not surprised by the lack of customer service and standards in the store.

Visited Northampton branch near sixfields and was assisted by Tracie on some queries on a product I couldnt find on the shelves. She was very helpful and assisted in arranging delivery due to the item being too large to transport on my car.

Getriin organised and planned our new kitchen and from the start she was friendly and professional. We would recommend her everytime, she made it an enjoyable experience.

I went into the Northampton Store looking to purchase a kitchen for a customer and was helped by a gentleman called James in the showroom. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and a great help, and nothing was too much trouble, he really took his time to ensure things were just right and he makes a great coffee! Excellent service and a special thanks to James 🙏👍🏻

I visited your branch on Weedon road,Northampton yesterday and received such lovely service by a young ladie called Jess.

Jess was just super friendly and polite and like a breath of fresh air, customers service in Retail has almost disappeared in the UK. Well Done Jess

I bought a tub of all purpose filler (Wikes own brand). When I got to the house to use it, there was a split in the lid. I used a little bit of it, but it was dry. Husband took it back the same day only to be told it wouldn’t be exchanged unless he/I could prove it was split when I purchased earlier. Unbelievable. So now in have a tub of filler not fit for purpose and am out of pocket.

Visited wicked northampton for a worktop and accessories at short notice.
Quinn and James were very helpful.
Excellent service.
Nothing was to much trouble.

Received fantastic service from Gemma at Northampton store on a recent click and collect order! Always find the staff to be quick, helpful and attentive to our needs whenever we visit so well done to all!
