initially, the experience went well, the designer visited and took notes to complete his design. we accepted the installation (£12000 + £1600 for "specialist work") and moved on. once we got home we realised he had added on stuff we hadn't spoken about, for example a robe hook, shower basket, and toilet roll holder that were on the pricier end of the spectrum, not to mention the delivery was £97.5!

until I found another installer that could do everything plus paint job for less than the installation cost. I tried to contact Wickes to cancel the entire project and was redirected 3 times, turned out I had to call the designer as he was the only one able to do the cancellation. meanwhile, one of the guys I had called had an extremely terrible attitude, using phrases such as "well, guess what, I have a full diary". it seemed that they were very quick to take payment and finalise a project, but cancelling it was extremely awkward.

we ended up cancelling but decided to still purchase the products with the designer in store. he suggested he retain some of the initial deposit to pay for the products, which sounded smart as then we wouldnt have any outgoing transactions for the day, but he only retained a small amount which resulted in us having to do a refund for the rest, plus 2 new transactions, which made it very complicated.

once we looked over the receipts, something didnt seem to add up and we were short of about £150, which mr designer didnt want to accept, constantly trying plug in the gap with what he "thought" it was.

already when we had gone in for the cancellation and reorder, his attitude was way off, we had scheduled a meeting at 3pm, but he was busy talking to another customer until about 3:15 - very unprofessional.

when we also mentioned that we would not be paying almost £100 for delivery, he didnt seem too happy, and kept reiterating that we wouldnt get it in time, blah blah.

the refund once again was done in three parts, which is exactly what we didnt want, and the order done with the designers programme was unable to be refunded then, so I had to leave the matter with him because apparently only the manager was able to refund an order because she had a certain key, so I left the store without the receipt and without a refund. the designer assured us that he would email us by the end of the day to confirm the refund but didnt.

now were checking everything through, turns out he didnt refund everything, left a door architrave which ended up charging us for delivery anyways. I dont know why he would do that because we were very stern we wanted everything cancelled.

story is still going on, as im still waiting for other parts of the refund.

overall a terrible, complex experience. they seem eager to help you purchase, and keep trying to add costly items, but once you want a refund, they cannot for so and so reasons.

Jake is a great guy, explained everything to us step by step we felt at ease with him from start to finish.

Amazing site manger, she is so knowalagable, helpful and on top of all activities.

The store manager and staff at Wickes are fantastic and helped me get a hedge trimmer from another store that was outside of the delivery area. Prior to that, I bought some garden equipment and Wickes offered great value for money. I appreciate all they have done for me and am definitely going back.

I never felt pressured - instead, he took the time to understand my needs and helped shape them into a design that works beautifully. He made what could have been a stressful decision making process genuinely enjoyable and pleasurable from start to finish. I’d highly recommend Jake to anyone planning a new kitchen.

Bought top soil to layer my lawn after reseeding. Loads of broken glass shards and seashells. My lawn has now been ruined. What now WICKES!?!?!?!

I’ve done two click and collect orders in the last week at nottingham store 071. Service has been impeccable both times and today a lovely young black man who had finished his shift went out of his way to serve me and help me take my purchase to the car. Exceptional customer service thank you 😊

Popped into Wickes’ Nottingham Central and received excellent service from Duty Manager, Kristin, and Sales Assistant, Tracey. A real credit to Wickes. Both were extremely helpful when we enquired about a Wickes’ Trade Pro account and placing an order for delivery. Highly recommend! 👌🏻

Jake attended our home to provide us with a quotation for the installation of solar panels. Not knowing any real detail about the product our aim was to gain an understanding of the technology, and to save money on our energy bills. Jake was both personable and professional. He didn't tire of our many questions, and answered each of them proficiently.
The order was placed that day - Considering this as capital expenditure/investment for our home, our hope is that the installation/products and service will meet our expectations, allowing us to see a sizable reductions in our energy bills.

Had an issue with delivery and went to the store and GARY, what a legend, professional and efficient he straight away sorted it and got my items ready to be delivered on the same day . Thank you very much Gary
