We had the opportunity to join Jorge for an insider's look at Porto's culinary scene. Jorge was very friendly and welcoming!! Within moments, we felt as though we were hanging with a friend and not a guide. His perspective as a Porto native of several generations, allowed us to appreciate the history of the city and neighborhoods. We appreciated that Jorge introduced us to places that are off the beaten path as well as many of the delicacies of the region. Jorge was hospitable and always checked to confirm we were interested in tasting the various food items. Obrigado Jorge! Neil and David

We had a terrific walking tour of Athens today . Our host was Thomas, and he was exceptional. He brought us to places we would have never seen. We took in spectacular views as well as learned about Greek history and culture.
We have participated in numerous tours of various places, this tour is at the top for over an all experience.

We have used ‘With Locals’ on a couple of occasions now and always had the best time and great value for money!

In Siem Reap, Ngoun showed us the real sights of his city through the street food tour. It was great to taste the culture and meet so many local, talented cooks! We enjoyed the different tastes and also the knowledge that Ngoun shared about each venue and dish. Ngoun’s English was perfect and his enthusiasm for all things local shone through. The tour itself was a great way to see the city and get our bearings on our first night and we learnt so much more than just where and what to eat.

Ngoun also took us on the sunrise trip to Angkor Wat and was so knowledgeable about the history showing real passion for his country’s amazing landmarks. He gave us the right amount of time to ourselves to take in the wonder around us but also made sure to share all his expertise, which we wouldn’t have gotten without him.

Cristina was exceptional! Prior to our visit she tailored our 3 hour walking tour to items of most interest to my family. In perfect English she communicated well and easily connected with all of us. Not only did she share vast knowledge about Florence’s famous history and sites, but throughout the tour she offered additional recommendations for my family to do during the remainder of our visit; and she even followed-up later with even more recommendations. Cristina is a fantastic guide and I highly recommend her!

Omar was a fantastic guide. We used him on our first morning in Morocco and he showed us how to navigate around the souks and took us off the beaten track. He customised the route to our preference. Would definitely recommend.

Adil gave us a perfect introduction to his home city, and lots of lovely, tasty and interesting food that we would not have found. Adil is super friendly and helpful, and managed to provide a tour accommodating 2 meat eaters and 2 vegetarians. We all finished full and happy. He took us through the souk, identified shops that matched our interests, gave good tips on haggling, advice on what to do and what to avoid, and a wealth of information about local life, history, culture and more. I really recommend booking this tour near the start of your Marrakech stay. Thank you, Adil.

Withlocals was great! Our guide Thami waited for us in the harbor of Tanger when we arrived with a cruiseship. He was a very friendly and kind host and gave us a wonderful tour of his city Tanger. We enjoyed our visit to Tanger. Thami told us about the many sights and treated is some tasty treats along the way :-)

Billy knows the best spots in the city and it is a pleasure listening to him while he explains the culinary highlights of Palma. Still several days after the tour we profit from Billy's experience while trying out all the places he recommended to us.

We have had a tour in Alhambra with Ana, who is a private guide. To book her "Withlocals" was a very easy, quick process.
Ana is very friendly and very professional. She didn't just give us a simple tour in the Alhambra but made it special with pointing out some hidden treasures. She was very patient with all my questions and she always had an answer, what shows her knowledge. Thank you very much Ana, you made our city trip special and very interesting.

We had a 2 hour orientation type tour in Tokyo the first day of our trip. Our tour guide, Gulay, was wonderful! She gave practical tips, was very friendly and knowledgeable. She pointed out good small shops, restaurants, and bars as well walked through the Shibuya area, and gave us tips for other places we planned to go during our trip. Overall a great experience and really glad we did it. Highly recommend!

We had a customised tour of Bangkok with Sammy for our family of four (two adults, a 17-year-old son and a 7-year-old). Sammy and I worked together on the itinerary. Sammy took away the mental load of navigating Bangkok. He met us right by the BTS next to our hotel. His knowledge of the transport system helped avoid long queues at stations and move across the city in the most efficient way. The itinerary itself included: Wat Phasi Charoen and Wat Kanlayanamit, Flower Market and Talat Noi. Sammy explained the history and significance clearly. I was a bit too ambitious with how much I tried to fit into one morning, and by the end we were all exhausted. He paced the day as well as possible, kept us moving efficiently, and was patient and good-humoured throughout. Overall, Sammy was knowledgeable, organised, and genuinely helpful. Having him guide us meant we could focus on experiencing Bangkok rather than worrying about logistics. I would highly recommend him to families wanting a personalised, stress-free way to explore the city, especially if you want to use local transport and see places beyond the usual tourist trail.

Our experience with June was a great one. We booked a private walking food tour with her for our group of 7. We contemplated doing an open group tour with another provider which would have been a cheaper option but we had two small children (1 and 2 years old) with us and wanted to be able to move at our own pace which is why we went with a private tour with June. Boy were we glad we did! Not only were we able to move out our own pace, but June was able to provide individual attention to each one of us. She is great with kids and she also seems to know everyone at the restaurants along the food tour and is very to happy to not only share her knowledge of the local food but also Taiwanese culture. She has a ton of good reviews for good reason and we'd happily book her again on our next visit to Taipei.

We were 3 couples from the U.S. on our first trip to Frankfurt. Laura provided us a great introduction to the city and its various Christmas Markets. She pointed out areas we should explore further, helped us in finding a "traditional" German restaurant and suggested additional ideas to enhance our Frankfurt experience. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable evening exploring Frankfurt for the first time.

Our three and a bit hours exploring the highlights of Rome with Eleanora were a revelation. The breadth and depth of her knowledge is amazing. She could answer every question and provide many new insights, especially on the wealthy families who provided the early popes. More importantly she is a wonderful person with great empathy, warmth and a sense of humour. Her English is perfect. By the end of the tour she was our friend.

This was our first food tasting tour so wasn’t sure what to expect. We were very happy we made the decision. Clara was excellent in pointing us to the best places for traditional foods. She also provided the cultural context for the foods we tasted and drinks we tried. What was an added and unexpected benefit from this experience, we saw Porto through the eyes and experience of a young woman who knows Porto and Portugal and has lived abroad. We recommend the tasting tour and highly recommend Clara.

While not sure what to expect - the six of us - joined Susanne for two truly enjoyable ventures through Wien, excuse me, Vienna! She is an excellent story teller, building on the culture, the traditions, the history, and the lore of this city. Each of us had our 'favorite' areas - whether the tour of the Schöebrunn Palace, the Christmas Marketplaces, or just suggestions for other ventures we show take and enjoy while in Vienna. Friendships last a long time!

Moustafa made our short tour of Cairo a memorable experience.

We spent the day touring with Moustafa, and it was a pleasure from the moment he greeted us. He carries himself with calm confidence, and we felt immediately that we were in capable hands. His explanations of Egypt’s history were clear and thoughtful—never rushed, never exaggerated—and he always made sure we understood what we were seeing.
A highlight of the day was our visit with him to the new Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). Navigating a place of that size and importance can be overwhelming, but Moustafa guided us through it with ease. He pointed out details we would have missed, explained the layout, and gave us the kind of context that only someone who truly knows the material can provide.
Later, he arranged a stop for lunch at the Great Pyramid Inn, which offered an unforgettable view of the Sphinx and the pyramids. Sitting there, looking out across the plateau, was one of those rare moments when the day slows down and you simply take it all in. It was a thoughtful choice on his part and something we will remember for a long time.
Throughout the entire tour, Moustafa showed the same steady care. He watched the timing, managed entrances smoothly, and kept us clear of crowds. There were no unwanted stops, no pressure, no unnecessary detours—just an honest, well-organized day with someone who is proud of his country and takes genuine pride in his work.
We felt safe, comfortable, and welcomed from start to finish. Moustafa is a guide we would gladly recommend to anyone visiting Egypt. He treated us with respect, patience, and kindness, and we ended the day feeling that we had not only seen remarkable sites, but met a good man behind them.

What a wonderful 3 hours we spent exploring Bruges with Patrick. His passion for his hometown shines through, and he truly brought the city’s history and culture to life. It was a perfect way to start our visit to this incredible place and set us up for an amazing stay. If you are visiting Bruges, we would highly recommend spending some time with Patrick. You won’t be disappointed.

Roxanne was a walking talking Wikipedia. She is very personable and her knowledge of Vienna was impressive. We had a great tour and it fully met our expectations.

What a perfect introduction to Venice. Lucrezia’s passion for sharing her city with us through stories, curious facts and locations was engaging. It’s things like the early digital clock in the piazza, the specially carved cat water bowls at the town water cisterns and the ugly faces on the church bell towers that have stayed with us as we walk the streets and alleyways. Lucrezia taught us to read the sights and clues we’d normally walk past to bring the history of Venice to life.

She was also able to link our movie goers knowledge of Venice to life through pointing out set locations and sights for well known James Bond and Spiderman scenes.

Lucrezia’s tips on where to get the best tiramisu, gelato, fresh food, and the best Venetian restaurants to dine at have made us feel a little like seasoned locals.

Leading up to our trip Lucrezia helped us understand how to get around with the public transport boats, and at the end of our tour she explained the best way to visit Murano and Burano.
