There are 39 chapters and each chapter are detailed notes of 30-40 pages, in which they go over repeated notes which extends the lesson. They do not provide quizzes in between. they only give you a MONTH to finish course after paying almost $200 to take course. The way theu have it outlined you would need 3 mon's the most to finish course and tests.. There is no refund if you start the lesson..Overall I think this is a course that create and confuse the purchaser on questions making it harder to pass exams an move to the next chapter... I made a mistake when i purchased it.. I used Examfx on my previous L/A/H license snd past on first try. They Examfx breaks it down gives quizzes and helps you understand the training to prepare you for test..I made a big $200 dollar mistake not knowing the structure of this xcelsolutions course.. I WARN YOU DO NOT PURCHASE> INSTEAD GO TO ExamFX YOUR pocket will thank you.

God, where can i even start. They claim to use multi media to teach however the lessons are 95% notes that are EXTREAMLY repetitive. Each lesson is far too long and if i was taking notes, would take me anywhere between four to six hours to complete. If you have options, avoid this service at all costs.

I recently enrolled in the Xcel Life Insurance program. I am new to the life insurance industry and found myself taking a while to get through each chapter. I initially thought it was my brain trying to figure out new information but later once I compared the Xcel program with Kaplan and a local in-person training colleagues were using, I was stunned at the difference. Xcel's platform had more clunky language, outdated verses and long chapter summaries verses the other two options. Once I was ready to take the test, I had to analyze most of the questions due to the outdated language, I was able to pass the test the first try but my colleagues who also Xcel had to retake the test 3 times. Xcel has been in the industry for a long time but has not updated their material which places people at a disadvantage. Please CHECK FOR OTHER OPTIONS outside of Excel. Do your research, I wish I did.

If you put forth the effort and study by going page by page, paragraph by paragraph, chapter by chapter and review the sample questions, you'll pass on your first try. But you have to have the desire to understand how insurance works.

The life and health pre licensing course does not provide detailed information on laws and insurance regulations. Making it extremely hard to actually pass a state exam. Xcelsolutions wouldn't be absolute trash if it instructed course takers how to pass there life and health state exams. **Do not waste your time and money on xcelsolutions.com.** You do not get any help or advice in the process. At least from this trash course.

I recently had to use Xcel Solutions to study for my Life and Health Insurance License exam. While I passed the state exam on the first try, I was not impressed with Xcel. The webpage sometimes stalled/crashed when the wifi was even slightly weak, even after clearing a great deal of disk space on my computer and with absolutely no other tabs or programs running. The material in much of the chapters was long and dry, and didn't help with retention. There needs to be a read-aloud/narration tool to help get through the longer chapters.

I did manage to pass my exams. However, I found the Xcel course extremely frustrating. Grammatical errors, inconsistencies and factual errors throughout the state insurance/health/disability study material. For some chapters, the summary video referenced information that wasn't even covered. This happened even more frequently with the practice exam questions. I got used to ignoring the smaller typographical errors, however some wrong words or omitted words completely changed the meaning of what was being taught. Sometimes I had to read and reread a sentence to figure out what it was supposed to have said. This felt like a beta-version of a training program, not a finished product. The presenters in the videos were all staring at a point above the camera, not directly into the camera, so they were looking at something above me, not at me. It was weird and distracting. There was even one section in the written material with readable words crossed out with a line, and suggestions for a fix, so I could see a suggested edit from the back end of things. Like I said, the whole program felt like it was unfinished, unpolished, a beta version or a rough draft. I feel like I passed my exams IN SPITE OF the sub par training material, rather than because of it. I hope someone at Xcel reads this and takes it to heart because the program seriously needs work. Too repetitive, too long, too unfinished and unpolished. Too many grammatical mistakes. It's like it was written by AI, and in a different language other than English, and then hurriedly scrapped together and pushed out with an unforgiving deadline. NOT a good course, I do NOT recommend. If it's the only thing your work is offering as study material, good luck to you.

First off, I would like to give the glory and honor to my Lord and Savior, Jesus for giving me good health and a sound mind to pass my New Jersey Accident and Health test on the first attempt.

In spite of the negative reviews, their low rating here and on other platforms, Xcel Solutions had prepared me well for the NJ Accident and Health exam.

This is the first online self study course of a complex subject I've taken and finished outside a class setting. It works if you do.

If you haven't already, you will read that they are a scam. They are NOT a scam in any shape or form.

You will read that their course material is the worst grammar, horrible to read, and so on, it IS NOT.

Did I have some challenges understanding certain content? just a little, but for the most part, the content they provided was solid and right on point.

Side note: I was told that their website will be updating soon, which means those minor errors will be corrected.

What they have done well was reduced a large amount of study material into bite size pieces, making it less demanding to absorb what is already a large and complex subject matter.

Although some chapters could use further breakdowns, it is better than all the other prelicensing courses I've seen.

So for all of the people you see complaining about baseless things, it's NOT Xcel Solutions. It's them.

You have to put in the work to pass.

XcelSolutions has all the tools for you to do just that.

What would I suggest Xcel Solutions do for a better customer experience when updating their site?

Have a night and day mode to toggle either preference. I have floaters, so night mode would make it easier to get through.

A bookmark function to return to the areas needing more study time and understanding.

Prevent the site from timing out too soon and provide a "are you still there" notice, or just have no timer.

It doesn't matter if they are there or not because they will have to read the material in order to complete the course. In other words, timing it out has no benefit to anyone, it is only frustrating to the user.

Create your content in easy to understand terms, which you have for the most part.

Because XcelSolutions well prepared me for the accident and health exam, I am now taking their Property and Casualty course, and it is definitely well written, more simplified, underlined, and bolded with important areas.

The P&C course is a much more pleasant read and structure.

With that said, I highly recommend Xcel Solutions over any other prelicensing course for your insurance prep exam.

I used their study material to prepare for my Idaho Life/Health insurance tests and after going through all of their study materials over and over I could not find answers to questions on the state licensing exam even after taking the exam 6 times and still am not able to find the information I need. Waste of time.

Promise to refund policy is a SCAM! They told us when we were considering ordering that they would refund if you don't pass within 30 days. This is untrue and the only reason we chose this company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IT IS A SCAM!!

Xcel, for me, was just not useful or helpful at all. While I got a discount to use Xcel to try and study for my P&C license, it did not help much. Majority of the questions were repeats. For a 200 question practice test, I expected better and more in-depth, not practically a repeat of over half the questions. I don't need tons of questions with the same answer being 'misrepresentation' or 'defamation' or 'this is the deductible'.
I contacted Xcel customer service about a lot of the practice test questions because there were so...many...spelling and grammar errors. The rep I spoke with said it would be looked into, and he apologized for the lack of professionalism in the practice test questions, because Xcel prides itself in their professionalism. I have every question saved that had spelling and grammar errors. For a 'professional' site and for the money, I expected much better. Very disappointing.

I am writing an honest review from a test-takers perspective. I bought the XCEL P&C Producer pre-licensing exam material because my Agent recommended it. I dug in and my initial impressions were that it sucked. I have passed 5 exams now using various pre-licensing applications. This is by far the worst I have used. The content is linear, which means that you have to go through the content in order. For instance, if you get stuck on a practice test or chapter test, you cannot go further into the content until you pass the test. It is very easy to get stuck. The problem is that the content is only leased to you. After 30 days, you have to buy an extension. Nowhere when you make your purchase does it state that this is only a 30 day lease. You only find that out AFTER you pay for the program. Unlike other companies, here, everything is digital. There are no PDFS, no pdf downloads, no books. Everything is one screen at a time. I would prefer to have all of the content downloadable. I am very hands on, and I do not like having to stare at a computer. With all of that said, I was able to make it through all of the content in about 2 weeks and I took the exam and passed it the first time. In fact, I had an hour left on the clock. Most of the information was thoroughly covered in the Xcel program, but you have to grind through the material. I don't like the format of the material, but I passed the exam replying solely on the Xcel content, and that's the reason I am giving it 5 stars. It is not a scam. It works.

This course is sold as the best one to take the insurance tests. Well it might be but the way the system is designed to get on account to start reviewing is the worst. I have called several times because at time of staring it doesn't allow me to start and I have called repeatly several times to them so they can get me to the course. Extremely waste of time doing all this every time we want to study.

The customer service is not good! You have to wait for hours to talk to a person. They do not reply emails.. It is very hard to contact them.

Worst courses ever do not pay your money for this! its a near scam! the website is always down and never works and when it does it kicks you out of the videos unless you click them every few minutes to pause and restart. I can be watching a 15 minute video and just because i dont stop and pause it for a few seconds then start it up again it will boot me after 3 mins i have to pause a 15 minute video 5 times atleast to not get kicked. it took me 3 hours to go through 9 slides when it shouldve only taken a bit over an hour and the course im taking is 60 hours because it ejects me so much add that in with the constant technical difficulties and terrible UI it makes finishing courses way harder. Trust me when i tell you they design it so you will end up paying an extra 45$ for a extra month to finish your course

This company is NOT a scam. It is an insurance pre-licensing education service. I used them and they did not steal any information of mine. It is a VERY reputable pre-licensing online school for insurance agent licensing. Whoever wrote the review suggesting they are a scam is 100% incorrect.

This website is apart of a scam within the insurance industry with in the remote side. One of the employers are "Holtz-Rigney" which is an insurance "associated with GL (Global Life)", this website takes your credit card and steals it while the agent watches and listens! PLEASE MARK THIS CHARGE AS FRAUD TO YOUR BANK AND GET YOUR CARD REPLACED!
