I couldnât go else where
When I first decided to start my journey as an independent travel agent, I joined a large, well-advertised host agency that promised the world. Unfortunately, the reality was very different. I quickly began to feel like just another number â a source of income for a large organisation rather than someone whose success genuinely mattered. Support felt limited, everything felt very corporate, and there was very little personal connection or care for the individual agents behind the business.
That all changed when I came across Your Travel Consultant (YTC)ᅩ.
I first noticed Simon, the owner and founder, through his TikTok lives. What immediately stood out was how genuine he was. He wasnât simply trying to recruit people â he was engaging with them, learning about their stories, their families, their goals, and what they wanted from life. It felt refreshingly human in an industry that can sometimes feel very sales-driven.
Our first interaction started on TikTok before moving over to WhatsApp, and from the very beginning I could tell this was different. There was no pressure, no pushy sales tactics, and no constant talk about signing contracts or joining immediately. In fact, most of our conversations were just normal, everyday chats. Simon took the time to get to know me as a person first, and that alone spoke volumes about the type of company YTC is.
Iâll openly admit Iâm a bit of a procrastinator, so I didnât join straight away. But there was never any pressure placed on me. That patience and understanding only reinforced my belief that YTC genuinely cared about people, not numbers.
In January, I finally took the plunge and joined YTC â and honestly, itâs one of the best decisions Iâve made for both myself and my business.
From day one, I was welcomed into an incredibly supportive community of agents who genuinely want each other to succeed. Thereâs no toxic competition, no feeling of being left behind, and no âevery person for themselvesâ mentality. Everyone is approachable, helpful, and willing to share advice or support whenever needed.
Simon himself has been nothing short of exceptional. I genuinely donât know when the man rests. He always seems to be available, whether itâs to answer a question, solve a problem, offer advice, or simply check in to see how things are going. No issue is ever too big or too small, and he approaches everything with patience, professionalism, and care.
What I particularly love about YTC is the balance theyâve achieved. The training is straightforward, well-structured, easy to follow, and not unnecessarily overwhelming. It gives you exactly what you need without drowning you in endless complicated modules. The systems are also fantastic to work with â from the live search engine to the supplier database, everything is accessible, organised, and clearly designed with agents in mind.
I also have to mention the wider team Simon has built around him. Every member of staff Iâve dealt with has been a credit to the company. Friendly, supportive, professional, and genuinely invested in helping agents succeed.
What makes YTC special is that it doesnât feel like a huge corporate machine. It genuinely feels like a family. Thereâs warmth, support, encouragement, and a real sense that people care about one another both professionally and personally.
If youâre looking for a host agency that offers real support, a family atmosphere, modern systems, approachable leadership, and a genuine passion for helping independent travel agents succeed, I honestly cannot recommend Your Travel Consultant (YTC)ᅩ highly enough.
Joining YTC didnât just give me a host agency â it gave me confidence, support, friendships, and a place where I truly feel valued. I honestly canât see myself going anywhere else.
