The Joey Avocado was first discovered and propagated by Joey Ricers in Uvalde, Texas. This Mexican Avocado Tree grows egg-shaped small to medium sized fruits that have purple-black, slightly bumpy skin. The flesh is bright yellow to yellow-green when ripe, and has a pleasing, nutty flavor. Joey Avocado Trees are cold hardy down to 15 degrees F. They can be grown in the ground in USDA Zones 8 to 11. The Joey Avocado Tree has an upright growth habit, deep green foliage, and is considered a heavy producer.

the tree was received in the poorest dire straight. The majority of the leaves had dropped and the branches were dry. Customer service (Cindy) immediately generated a reorder to replace the tree, but a week into the order the replacement tree and fertilizer has yet to be received. Twice, avocado tree fertilizer has been ordered, and never yet received. Hopefully, I will receive the fertilizer and reordered tree soon, before shipping has damaged the produtct, and will have better results.

Due to the projected weather temps in your area, we have decided to hold the Joey Avocado Tree until it is safe to ship. Typically, we look for temps
to stay above freezing overnight to ensure your tree is happy and healthy when it arrives. We’ll continue to monitor the weather in your area and ship your order out as soon as we feel it is safe to do so. I have already emailed the nursery asking when they will be shipping and we will reach out to you.
