Updated review of my ( now) Talk Talk Broadband
I recently wrote a review of my experiences with my Shell Energy Broadband account and my subsequent experience after Shell Energy sold their energy and broadband service to Octopus and in future my broadband service was to be provided by Talk Talk .
Unfortunately a company called OCTAPLUS SUPERCHARGED INTERNET - PHONE - TV ( Note the spelling difference between Octopus and OCTAPLUS ) thought that their company was the subject of the review! I will state that THIS or the LAST REVIEW has or had any connection with THAT company.
I had been with SHELL Energy broadband and phone for several years and had perfect broadband and phone reception. I rec, an email from Shell Energy explaining that its energy and broadband services had been sold to Octopus Energy and my broadband
service would now be provided by Talk Talk .
Almost immediately my broadband started to disappear at all hours of the day,i\ts drops then stays off for 6 or 7 minutes before returning slowly then immediately drops again for another period of time and this repeats all day and evening until after midnight and it incredibly frustrating and annoying.
I have called the help centre several times and they can see the frequent drops on their system .One of the operatives suggested taking the front off the wall socket and inserting a plug into the inner socket which I did but it made no difference . One notable difference came the other night when an important football match was on TV where every football fan would be watching ,I managed stream almost a full movie on Amazon Prime but as soon as the match ended and people started to use there broadband again MY broadband dropped again and stayed off until very late at night before I could finish watching my movie and even then there was loads of bufffering. I suppose that this will go on until we reach the ombudsman stage, I am mystified why after years of perfect broadband with Shell why cant TalkTalk cannot deliver the same service ?
