I want to thank the staff at Milton…

I want to thank the staff at Milton Keynes. Simply a joy to deal with. Helpful, cheerful, professional and a credit to the organisation. I’ve spent thousands with a Sportsbikeshop and for the most part (mainly because of the people at MK) I am a committed customer however, one experience with someone who will remain nameless at the head office, almost damaged the beautiful relationship built and fostered over years and mainly on my experience in MK.

It’s a struggle to think they could be worse!

One star does not illustrate how bad this experience is.

My experience with Waitrose / John Lewis has been deeply disappointing and, frankly, unacceptable.

A delivery driver caused approximately £1,400 worth of damage to my property while leaving after a grocery delivery. Rather than reporting the incident, the driver simply left the scene without making any attempt to notify me. The damage only came to light because it was captured on CCTV.

What followed was not a responsible or customer-focused response, but a prolonged period of inaction. Despite clear evidence, there was no urgency, no meaningful accountability, and little indication that the matter was being taken seriously. Communication was slow and, at times, non-existent.

The most concerning aspect is that I was ultimately forced to issue County Court proceedings nearly three months after the incident just to prompt progress. That step should be wholly unnecessary in circumstances where the facts are straightforward and supported by evidence.

For organisations that trade so heavily on trust, service, and integrity, the apparent lack of oversight and engagement at a senior level is difficult to understand. At no stage did the handling of this matter reflect the standards that customers are led to expect.

This has significantly undermined my confidence in both brands. When an issue arises, customers reasonably expect it to be dealt with promptly, transparently, and responsibly. That has not been my experience here.

I would encourage others to consider how situations like this might be handled before placing reliance on these companies.

Efficiently handled by Elliot? Excellent customer service so far!

Efficiently handled by Elliot? I think was the chap who took my call.
The ‘acid’ test with all insurers though is whether they are as effective in the hopefully unlikely event one needs to make a claim!!

Claim Settled.

Claim Settled.
I recently felt motivated to criticise Staysure and their claims handling company (Davies Group) for their apparently tardy handling of my claim. Behind the scenes it seems that the matter was being expedited as quickly as possible as was explained to me by Leanne at Staysure and of the unprecedented volumes of claims received in a very short period of time that were the issue causing the delays. No different obviously to the issues affecting the travel industry in general. My claim has now been settled and credit has to go where credit is due to Staysure for making the process easy (albeit slightly longer than I expected) and showing genuine concern about the short and unforeseen delay that was experienced. Thanks also to Aidan at Davies Group.

Review of the response from Staysure.

Further to my review of yesterday I received a response (please take the time to read it below) from ‘Leanne’ at Staysure I assume or could be a separate company employed to answer ‘less than flattering’ reviews: who knows?

The appearance plus of something ‘scripted’ as significant parts of it appear in other responses from Staysure/Leanne.

So: in answer to my review I am provided with no solution whatsoever.

Leanne at Staysure ‘hopes’ the claims handling company will contact me. Very reassuring…….absolutely not.

So: I pay the premium and get nothing it seems in return just excuses and drivel and crap service!

Am I the only customer being provided a service that isn’t fit for purpose? I suspect not. The test of a company is how it deals with issues. In this instance a claim. If they don’t get any/many claims then on the face of it you see a company that ‘appears’ efficient. The test of a ‘good Insurance company’ is the way it deals with the claims made. Why do these organisations take on extra business if they can’t service it?
Why are they dealing with airline cancellation as that is the responsibility of the airline!?!?

‘Fobbed off’ is the feeling I have. Isn’t it time to expose this nonsense for what it is. Taking money from customers under false pretences. Unacceptable service from the moment a claim needed to made and claims handling outsourced to an organisation (loose term) called Davies Group (utterly useless) where 6 weeks passes by and zero progress.

Finally I take the time to read some other reviews. Illuminating they are particularly the reply to Ahmed from Leanne. Ahmed is told to email a complaint to ‘travelclaims at -group.com’. NO SUCH EMAIL ADDRESS EXISTS! An intentional attempt to mislead or an innocent mistake?!?!?!?

To date the experience with Staysure…

To date the experience with Staysure has been woeful. After having to cancel a trip due to illness I attempted to instigate a claim. The claim management company (Davies Group) directed me to website to upload documents. The facility was defective necessitating over 2 hours of waiting on a phone line. Emails aren’t responded to and the service overall is rubbish. Overall 41 days has passed since the claim was registered and no progress in all that time. Seems that escalating the matter to the Insurance Ombudsman is the only route now. Very very disappointing but not a total surprise with some organisations that are engaged in the insurance industry.

Due to a higher than anticipated amount of people travelling abroad, along with the recent issue of airlines cancelling flights, we are experiencing a higher than anticipated volume of claims.  This is a UK wide industry issue affecting all travel insurers.  We are putting in place additional measures and bringing in more resources to restore the service to the standard our customers are accustomed to.

Claims are handled by a dedicated claims department and here in the customer service team, we have no access to claim forms or claims databases. In the meantime, I have passed your concerns onto the claims handlers directly and I do hope to hear they contact you shortly to discuss a resolution.

Up until recently I’d never had a…

Up until recently I’d never had a problem with SBS. A recently purchased defective pair of boots almost derailed my blemish free experience. SBS recalled the item speedily and determined there was a fault and replaced the item. Unusual for the item to have a problem as friends have the same abs even older but the manner SBS dealt with the situation was exemplary.
