Customer service is superb. Dispatch time excellent . The rose was bought as a Golden Wedding Anniversary and the friends to whom it was sent are full of nothing but praise for the quality of packaging and the bush

The company should not be allowed to operate

I’m writing this review to give everyone a good laugh at British Gas Lite. What has happened to my church is so ridiculous it is laughable. We sold our church building on the 27th November 2025. Our solicitor gave us a letter confirming the sale which I sent to them that evening. In Scotland a solicitor’s letter is all the legal proof needed to show the sale of a property. Eventually I was told I needed to engage on webchat. I did two weeks later - I’d been trying to contact them for two weeks. My first encounter got nowhere. The agent told me I was not the registered person (I am) and therefore I had failed the security tests and ended the call. I finally managed to webchat with someone, explained the situation and attached the solicitor’s letter. I was told that was unacceptable and I need to provide the buyer's email address and phone number which I do not have and even if I did I could not supply it without their permission because of the Data Protection Act. I was asked for form TR1 which is not applicable in Scotland. I explained that. I was then asked for the Land Registry number but as the property dates from the 18th Century there is no number. Our solicitor sent us another legal document proving the sale so I engaged in another webchat and attached both documents. Still the account was not closed and when our contract came to an end in December they renewed it on a different tariff. All this for a property we no longer own. Meanwhile I got a phone call asking if they could help us lower our tariff. In January 2026 our solicitor sent a copy of the registration of the sale with the Land Registry. Once again I engaged in web chat attaching all three legal documents. They were unacceptable to BGL without the buyers’ email address and phone number. Almost three months since the sale the account remains open. I’ve even written to the complaints department of BGL but received absolutely no response whatsoever. We are now being hounded for a bill of over £600 for supplying gas to a property we no longer own. I have lost count of the number of times I have engaged in webchat. anI have also lost track of the number of harassing phone calls which are ended abruptly when the agent realises what has happened. They usually just hang up. One of the agents on Webchat gave me a phone number to connect me with someone who could help. I phoned but when I chose option 3 for BGL customers I was told in a recorded message to go onto webchat! We have now been charged an extra £75 for late payment!. The case is now with the Ombudsman. Obviously BGL is at fault. You cannot keep sending bills for a property that is no longer owned by the person receiving the bills. As I said it is so ridiculous it is laughable.

Excellent in every way

I’m a fairly regular customer of Minerva Crafts. I especially love their Printed on Demand fabric despite there being a delay in dispatch because of the process of printing. It just means one has to order in plenty of time.

I saw some fabric which I thought might be a match for another Minerva POD fabric I had already bought but didn’t want to order a sample, wait for it and then have another wait if I decided to order so I asked if the fabric would match. The answer I received was immediate and gave me all the information I needed. The fabric was not a match, however despite that I really loved the fabric so decided I might buy it to use in the future. I bought some crepe back satin but also some stretch charmeuse in the same fabric to make a fascinator. The fabric arrived in separate parcels - the stretch stuff coming first.

I say this hand on heart, when I opened the parcel my breath was taken away. It is the most stunning fabric, such a rich deep colour. Absolutely beautiful.

As always, everything from the advice, the dispatch and the fabric is first class. I happily recommend Minerva for fabric needs

I find Evri an excellent delivery service

I never have any complaints about Evri. the delivery driver is always polite and friendly and if no one is in the parcel is left securely in the requested place. Parcels are always delivered on time and in perfect condition.

A Pleasure

It is always a pleasure to order from Eden, whether it be a personal order or one for the church. The ordering process is very straightforward and the dispatch time id first class. Most orders have been placed online but on the one occasion I had to phone I was greeted by a friendly welcoming helpful young man. It is a pleasure to deal with a Christian company.

Regular customer

I'm a regular customer of Minerva Crafts. They offer a huge range of excellent quality fabrics. The dispatch time is first class as is the customer service. The fact one can buy samples help greatly. That is why I keep coming back. Cannot recommend this shop highly enough.

My first experience of Yodel and it…

My first experience of Yodel and it will be my last. It must be one of the worst delivery companies, certainly to the DG4 area. I'm not alone in saying that. I placed an order with Owl Barn Gifts at start of December. The parcel was dispatched immediately but despite getting various updates telling me it would be delivered on a certain day it didn't arrive. I emailed a complaint and was told someone would be in touch . No -one has! I phoned and the parcel could not be found. I waited over 40 minutes to speak to a customer service officer with a continuous, and I mean non stop voice telling me to stay online. It was excruciating. I will never complain about holding music again. I gave up. Owl Barn Gifts sent a replacement which did arrive before Christmas (20th December). Amazingly the original parcel was delivered 28th December, almost a month from ordering. Both drivers were great but the company is appalling. I've been told by everyone in this postcode never to buy anything if the delivery company is Yodel. I have learned my lesson and will now check whether or not the the delivery company is Yodel before ordering. Deadful company

Great courier

Courier know us well and is friendly and polite if we are in to receive the delivery. If we are out he knows where to safely leave our parcel. They are left carefully thus protecting not only the parcel but our property.

Really pleased

Pavers is my go to brand of shoes as they suit my feet. I find them well made and comfortable and this pair are no different.
They are a very pretty shade of pale gold with a sturdy heal which is elegant but not to thin or high. Very pleased with the shoes.

I have bought from Shipton & Co before and was delighted with my purchase, hence this one. It did not disappoint. The ring was beautiful, the outer packaging was strong and protective and the delivery time was first class. I will definitely buy again.

An insult to intelligence!

If I could give this company negative stars I would. I am told the driver tried to deliver on a Friday but no-one was in. No card was left and I question the delivery attempt! The first I knew of this was when I received an email telling me a rearranged delivery had been scheduled for the following Monday. On Monday I received an email telling me the delivery would be in the afternoon before 6pm. I waited but no parcel came. At 6pm I received an email, with no apology, telling me my delivery had been delayed and would now be Tuesday. On Tuesday morning I received an email telling me the item had been shipped and delivery times were given. Shortly after that I got a phone call from a company, 30 miles from my home, telling me my parcel had been delivered to them. Obviously it could not be delivered to me on that day. It was in a warehouse 30 miles away. I collected it myself from the warehouse. When I asked Fed-ex for an explanation I was told it was driver error. I accepted this but asked for an explanation as to why I was told it was on its way when in fact the company had lost it. The replies were polite but there were so many holes in the explanation it was an insult to my intelligence. It showed inefficiency at every level in the Gretna depot.

Excellent service

OI got word that one of the plants I had ordered was not good enough to send out. An immediate refund was give. I was impressed. Obviously a company who not only values its reputation but cares for its customers. The other pants I'd ordered arrived quickly, well packaged and in a very healthy condition. I will definitely buy again.

Excellent Service, great plants

I have ordered 3 times from Gardening Express, one as a present for a friend. She was delighted. She said they plants were very healthy and very well packaged. On hearing that I placed an order. My friend's description of the plant and the packaging is exactly mu experience.. Delivery time is first class. I will definitely be ordering from this company again. I can highly recommend them.

Parcels are always delivered on time and in excellent condition. The couriers are all very friendly and obliging. I have got to know most of them and they know where to leave parcels if I am not at home, I am very pleased with the service.

Excellent

I live in a rural community so can only shop in store if I visit Glasgow. For the first time I bought a blouse and trousers online. They arrived well packaged and in excellent time. However, although I had ordered my normal size they were far too big so I had to return them and buy a size smaller. The returns process is so easy. There is an adhesive return label included in the package . You then return the parcel via the Post Office. It is so easy and it’s free. I got an email telling me they had received the return very quickly and the refund was in my bank in really good time. I will certainly shop online with John Lewis again.

Appalling returns process

I ordered some items for choice. I decided to return 2 of them but I had all sorts of trouble as the returns page would not accept the returns number. I then was told my email address was not recognised, despite it being the one they contact me on. The girl at customer service was very pleasant but asked for a screen shot of the returns page which I can’t do so I had to contact them again. I was given instructions on how to return it by Royal Mail or EVRI but that involved using a QR code which my mobile doesn’t do. I was then told how to return it to a locker. There are no lockers anywhere near me. Eventually I asked for the return address so I could return the items at the Post Office. Thankfully I was given it but will have to pay for postage. I was told to photograph the receipt and the postage would be refunded. It was a ridiculous carry on.. The claim to have gone paperless is rubbish as the person returning the item has to use paper. There is also an assumption that everyone has a smartphone and a printer.
I won’t buy from Debenhams again because it’s too hard to make a return. The only saving grace was the pleasantness of and attempted help from the customer service staff, hence the 2 stars rather than 1 star which Debenhams actually deserve.

Hy Cynthia, thanks for taking time to leave a review and I'm so sorry to hear about the issue with the returns service. I can assure you this is not the way things usually go here.

I can confirm we have gone paperless because everything with regards to your order is found online now, this includes the logging of return for any orders.

We also offer print in store services if labels can't be printed at home so it is unusual that the one you received did not work. I can assure you this is will be looked into internally as it's essential to ensure nobody else has to experience the same issue as yourself so your feedback on this is highly appreciated.

We want nothing more than to offer a fun, stress-free experience when ordering new outfits online and I'm sorry if that has not quite gone to plan on this occasion but we will absolutely strive to improve on this in the future.
