Badly manufactured and engineered product with ghastly customer care.
Here is my review of the Shark cordless lift away vacuum which I bought on the 1/11/24.
The review was not accepted by Shark for their website so I suspect they massage the reviews they published because it is neither false not rude. It is simply an accurate account of my experience with their product and response to emails.
Avoid - poor materials and worse design.
I bought this vacuum on 1/11/24 and initially I was very pleased with it. But on 16/11/2024 a section of the brush roll surface fell off. Customer care claimed this was wear and tear but conceded that they would put me on a waiting list for the currently unavailable spare part. I objected because 15 days of light use should be within the parts capability. They conceded and decided to send a new vacuum and collect the old one. So I waited but by 21/11 I really needed to vacuum again and then found the machine was blocked by 2 weeks light use in a tiny flat. Dismantling the machine to clear the blockage revealed the poor manufacture and design. The hose leading to the waste canister is surprisingly narrow and has a tight bend which explains how quickly it blocked. The plastic materials used are very brittle and poorly fitting compared to earlier models suggesting that frequent replacement parts would be needed and the unavailability of a replacement roll bar failed to convince me that needed parts would be available. I decided I no longer wanted a replacement of this model and mysteriously Shark now want to charge for collection. Equally distressing is attempting to communicate with Shark via email. I have severe phone phobia so it is my only option. In the many emails, here have been frequent contradictory responses which arrive after many days delay. I am glad that I do have a record of their earlier statements which would not be the case if I had phoned. I am very distressed by the whole ghastly procedure. Getting to the stage where I have pay for the return of a badly constructed and designed machine which they don't have parts for has taken until today 28/11/2024. Perhaps Shark will return to their commitment to pay for the return after all if the machine had been adequate I would have kept it. I have sent yet another email to customer care and at sometime in the future there may be a relevant reply or that may be far too much to hope for.
