Will never use again
Will never use again. It was the first year anniversary of my husband's death and the Friday at the end of what had been a very long and emotionally draining week. I rarely get takeaways but decided I'd had enough and would give myself a break from cooking for the family. I ordered a meal for 3 to arrive 6.45pm. I was still waiting at 7.15pm so tried phoning. Couldn't get through so went online to customer chat - by now it was 7.30pm. Customer service tried to contact restaurant but couldn't. she said log was stating that the food had been delivered (which it hadn't). she said she would make a full report and that an investigation would take place and someone would be in touch within 48hrs. I asked whether I should make other food arrangements and was told wait 20 mins just to be sure. By 8.15pm we were famished so my son went to a restaurant elsewhere to get takeaway meals for us While he was gone our original delivery turned up 1hr 45min late! Son was already on way back with the other takeaways he had picked up for the family. there was no room in fridge to store the three meals ordered through the Justeat service and, as it was a heatwave and the meal contained fish, it could not be safely reheated the following day after being stored at room temperature through no choice of our own. Result was paying out for the delivery of a VERY LATE meal which had to be binned - as well as the cost of the second meal we'd ordered after seeking advice from customer care on the situation (expensive night!) Oh, and guess what, no investigation was held. It's now six days later and not even an email to see what happened. Will never use them again - I'll deal with the restaurants directly.
Edit: Just to update this, out of fairness, after waiting over two weeks with no contact I did receive a full refund - along with an apology for the delay.
