The staff in our local Cambridge store are always friendly and helpful. All the items I was interested in purchasing were in stock. Purchased a selection of the new boxes, which are supposed to aid the longevity of fruit and vegetables. Will by trialing them over the next month.

Despite the popularity of programmes such as the Sewing Bee, it is still difficult to find a shop to purchase sewing items. My nearest one is nearly an hours drive away. And, of course, it is impossible for any small independent retailer to stock a vast range of fabric. This is where an online fabric supplier pays dividends.
I have been using Minerva for some years now, and couldn't be happier. The consistent quality of the fabric, friendly and helpful customer service team, the informative and entertaining tutorials, sew-alongs, and the friendly sewing community, full of tips and encouragement, are what make Minerva stand out amongst all the other websites that are available.
It is important to read their terms and conditions when making a purchase. It was a while before I realised that I could return fabric or faulty items. A print on demand material had a fault line in the pattern, and I had no problems returning it. Unfortunately I had to wait a while for another piece to be printed, but thankfully it didn't cause me any problems.
Their Core Range of fabric is excellent, and their end of line, deadstock and/or sale items I feel are excellent value, especially if you're wanting some economical fabric to make a toile, or you want to try a different type of fabric, without a high price tag.
Their print on demand (POD) fabric range of colours, designs and fabrics are, I think, one of the best available on-line. They may not be the cheapest, but you have a vast palette of options available, which I think is worth paying for. The only drawback with the POD fabric is the wait time, which does seem to have increased in recent months. No doubt they are at the mercy of their suppliers, and shipping times are notoriously hard to predict.
If I'm making something special and I'm selecting from the POD fabric, I'm just making sure I give a wider time frame for the order.
I still take pleasure in finding a fabric shop when out and about on holiday, and getting a chance to 'see and feel' before purchasing. However, the bulk of my purchases now come from Minerva. An on-line supplier I know I can trust.

Quick service. Product carefully packaged. Difficult to find a 3 Tog rating for a down and feather duvet, which is our preferred rating for this time of year. It has to be really cold for us to move up to a 4.5 tog! The cotton casing feels really smooth. We gave the duvet chance to 'breathe', shaking it to revive the volume once taken from the packaging. We used it the same day it arrived and have been rewarded with excellent and comfortable nights sleep. Would highly recommend this product.

Currently enjoying the Minerva Master Classes on fabrics, I had for sometime been considering purchasing the Fabric Guide. It came within two days of ordering, and was safely packed in a box, so no danger of it being damaged.
It's important to note that this isn't a sewing guide, but a comprehensive 'dive' into fabric, it's construction and use. I was taught to sew as a child and have been sewing for five decades. This Fabric Guide is the perfect partner to any books which focus soley on sewing techniques. If you are at all serious about producing well crafted, wearable garments this gem of a guide from Minerva is a must. It is beautifully produced. Strong laminated pages, legible print, well laid out with quality photographs.
It is evident that a lot of thought has been given in how to convey and share knowledge in an accessible format, whilst making it an enjoyable experience.
Yes, it is what one might term a 'considered' purchase, given its price tag. However, if you, or anyone you know is serious about sewing, or considering a career in that direction, this would be an invaluable resource. I just wish something like this had been available decades ago, as it is certainly increasing my knowledge and enjoyment of my sewing journey.
The fabric swatches are an excellent idea, making the learning process tactile, as well as visual. All I need to do now is buy some double sided cellotape so I can start inserting the fabric pieces in the folder. :-)

I have been using Minerva for quite a few years now. On the few occasions when I've had to contact the sales/customer service I've always found them to be polite and helpful, and always friendly. Given the popularity of Minerva they must have a busy work day, but always do their best. My product had been held up by difficulties with the Mill, but my patience, and theirs, has been rewarded and I shall soon be receiving the fabric.
Minerva has exceeded my expectations of what can be achieved by an online retailer. Their enthusiasm for the products they sell, and the excellent online community they've created speaks volumes of their integrity and professionalism.

I attended Boots Stamford branch for my regular eye test. On this occasion I also paid for the OCT advanced optical test. The optician who carried out the test was very thorough. She did seem a little shy and very, very softly spoken. Possibly because she was also being assessed that day. But her manner was professional and friendly. I have been using Stamford for quite a few years now, and even if there is a change of staff, they are always friendly, willing to discuss options and explain what they are doing and answer questions. I have never had the feeling of being rushed, they allow whatever time you need. Excellent choice of frames. My personal drawback is having to pick frames with nose pads, so the majority of modern frames is limited. A big thank you to Charlotte for helping me find a more up-dated frame, and also one suitable to use for sun-glasses. Am delighted with both of these. During my last visit I discovered I could have computer glasses, with the additional advantage of a reading area, so I can also glance down and read paperwork on my desk. Now have an appointment booked for next week for Charlotte to sort these for me. Would definitely recommend Stamford opticians. They may belong to a large chain, but have all the professionalism and friendliness of a smaller, local business, who cares for their customers.

Excellent company. Website easy to use. Fast delivery. No quibble returns. As I live within a short drive of their main European premises, any returns give me the opportunity to browse their outlet store.

Easy to order. Delighted with the speed of delivery. The information leading up to, and after my purchase enabled me to get the best out of the Iqoro. Delighted my internet searching lead me to the product. Still continue to use it as a maintenance for my digestive health.

Another fast and efficient delivery from Lands' End. Only a part order, as one item is awaiting stock renewal. I appreciate the fact that they don't charge postage on any items sent separately.
