Telephone contact with Octopus
I spoke to Aimee about a payment issue, and she was very helpful. I was surprised - OK, "stunned" - by how easy it was to actually talk to someone! One of the things I dislike about "modern British" service industries/utilities is the fact that it is impossible to talk to them. Is this progress? If so, I hate it, it and I'm certain that I'm not alone. Octopus do at least have an easy to find phone number with real people to answer it. Its so refreshing.....I hope maintain this standard.

Late orders, no customer support
Late orders, no response from email or phone customer services, don't use this organisation. Its OK until something goes wrong, when it does, you're on your own. They have your money, you don't have your wine.
As an update - I emailed memberservices@ thewinesociety.com on 17 and 18 July, and tried to call 01438741177 three times on 18 July.
Now have my wine, 2 days late.

We are sorry to hear that your order is late and that you have not had a response to your e-mails yet.
Our call centre has also been extremely busy over the last few days and there have been much longer waiting times than usual.
We can advise that there is currently a backlog of e-mails that the team work through in date and time order and they have not yet reached yours - we do apologise for the delay here.
DHL advise that they have had driver shortages at your local depot and had not been able to get your parcel out for delivery until today.
We are glad that you now have your wines but we sincerely apologise for the delay and for any inconvenience caused.

Well handled call, didn't have to wait too long for the phone to be answered. Polite & knowledgeable call handler. I've used this company for several years to insure my Series 1 Land Rover & will carry on doing so!
