I done a course with 5 day my driving instructor was Rob from Bristol & I passed first time. Highly recommend being with Rob very friendly & always down for a good laugh. But shame about the office about having to chase up about your test & then getting lied to every time about what number you are in the queue. Very disappointing in 5 days office staff they lie all the time.

I booked a 5-day course in August 2024 and after waiting for 15 months, I was finally given a test date for MAY 2026... Yes, I know the DVSA has long waiting times (around 11 months), but this company completely misled me. They bragged about having a âdedicated teamâ who would find me an earlier test within 10 weeks when I initially booked â which was clearly CON to take my money.
How on earth do they expect anyone to do a 5-day course and then somehow keep it all fresh for 21 months before a test? Itâs ridiculous. They clearly donât care about their customers at all â just about getting paid. My course reference number is - SD-Y19P7, incase you claim this review is fake!

I left a review on behalf of my sister, who is a student and has been extremely frustrated with the poor service youâve provided. Throughout all our communications, we have never been disrespectful or inappropriate. We have proof of every phone conversation and copies of all correspondence. Nothing weâve said is incorrect or exaggerated. We have simply been conned by 5day, just like many others. If youâre considering booking a course with them, look elsewhere, they will mislead you and lie to you once they have your money.
When you call their sales team, they say the same mis leading, scripted nonsense: âIf we get you a test within 10 weeks, we consider that as a good result.â When in fact youâre left waiting closer to 84 weeks. They say this to rope you in, sell you a course then forget about you.
Weâll see you in court.

We have a dedicated test-booking team, and they work continuously to secure earlier dates for all customers. The only reason for extended delays is the national DVSA backlog, which affects every training provider and is entirely outside our control. Despite this, our team has made repeated efforts to assist, and it is misleading to imply otherwise.
The assertion that we âdonât careâ is simply incorrect. We support our customers throughout their training and test-booking process, and we stand by the professionalism of our staff.
It is also important to note that our company has received repeated communications from this individual that have been inappropriate and hostile in tone.
We will always protect our staff from behaviour of that nature, and attempts to publicly damage our reputation through inaccurate or exaggerated statements will not change the facts.

Wondering to book on?
I have just passed my driving test with 5 day.
I do think there is a place for this service. If you are looking to get started with your driving and are wondering whether this is worth it or not, I would say it is.
The instructors are great (I had James Chambers from Peterborough) and you definitely hone your driving skills much faster by being behind the wheel every day for a week as well as getting the theory side of driving covered as well.
On the other hand, if you are a relatively experienced learner driver, I think it would be hard to justify the cost of the course compared to picking up a couple of hour or two lessons with a standard instructor or purchasing a temporary car insurance online and driving a friend/ relatives car.
I think a lot of the selling point of this course is around getting a faster driving test which unfortunately didnât happen for me however after months of waiting I was able to find my own test date relatively quickly after getting on a couple of cancellation apps.
At the time I took this course it cost around £1400. Thatâs obviously pretty steep, so like I said, if youâre a new driver looking to pass quickly, this is when I would recommend. If you do go for the course then definitely use the cancellation apps. It will cost you a bit extra but you will get refunded for the test from 5day. I used testi to find my cancellation.

I was rather worried about driving but Carol was lovely and reassuring, she quickly understood my strengths and weaknesses and how I thought so she taught accordingly. I've come so far in a week and passed my theory first try thanks to both Carol and Chris Wise. Intensive 5âDay Driving Course â Good effort but expectations need adjusting
My son attended the 5DAY intensive driving course and Iâd like to share our honest experience.
â
What they deliver:
⢠A 5âday consecutive block of driving instruction and theory training.
⢠Payment in full required at booking time (or large deposit + balance) for the full package.
⢠The first theory test is booked for you.
â What they donât deliver as clearly:
⢠The practical driving test date is not guaranteed and may take many months. The terms clearly state that due to nationwide backlog the company âdoes not guarantee the availability of a test within a specific timeframe.â
⢠Despite claims of âfastâtrack test serviceâ, they are limited to the official DVSA booking platform and have no special priority.
⢠Once you pay the full course cost, you are locked into the schedule and if you need to cancel/move the course you lose the fee, unless you give 20 working daysâ written notice and meet strict conditions.
For us: After completing the course in September, the earliest practical test date offered is April next year â nearly 7 months later. For many learners, this means a long wait during which withheld practice may reduce their readiness, and potential extra lessons (not included in the package) become necessary.
ð¡ My advice: If you are considering an intensive 5âday course, you must read the fine print, ask exactly when your test will be, and realise you may still face long waiting times. At the very least, keep practising independently while you wait. If flexibility and timing matter a lot to you, it may be better to consider another pathway.
This company provides genuine training, but the âlearn to drive in 5 days and test immediatelyâ narrative is misleading â it really means âintensive training in 5 daysâ then potentially many months of waiting for the test.
I hope this helps other learners and parents make a fully informed decision.

Had the 5day course booked from October 27th to the 31st with Tony in Bury St Edmunds, I was nervous as I'd previously failed 2 tests 5 years ago but Tony put me at ease straight away. His teaching methods were amazing, always praising me when I did something right and of course not so much when I didn't do something right ð He explained everything so well which made retaining what he was teaching me a while lot better. I also booked the theory through 5day which I sat on November 3rd which I passed. Straight away Tony was on to booking me a test and he managed to get me on the following week. I took that test today and I passed with only 3 minors ð I can't thank him enough, he was brilliant.

Excellent intensive course. Based in Norwich and Phil Booth was my intensive instructor. Great week! Got great advice and teaching, within 2 days i was feeling confident behind the wheel. Phil was brilliant with listening and adapting to how i learn! He also pushed me to believe i could do what he was asking. My biggest worry was who i was going to get as an instructor but as soon as i met him i felt comfortable.

The instructor reduced my 18 year old son to tears on the 2nd day, to the extent he wouldn't go back in the car with him. The complaint process is flawed as they say they need third party evidence. How is this possible with no one else in the car. Refused to refund by hiding behind small print.

Intensive driving courses can be challenging, and while many learners thrive in this environment, we understand that for some, the pace can feel overwhelming - often this becomes apparent within the first couple of days.
In this instance, asking another learner to switch instructors partway through their own 5Day course would have been unfair and disruptive to their training.
