Rubbish - I had to rate 1 star because you cannot rate any lower - and all the bad reviews below are true. this is a scam - no info came back, DO NOT USE. I hope the founder of web site www 78888 co uk gets their "just deserts" in the future, i would say shot, but probably not appropriate

So I sent the reg to 78888 and got absolutely nothing! I wish I had found these reviews earlier. Horrendous company. Unbelievably disappointed how something like this, a company that actively robs people and gives nothing back is still active online. Disgusting.

Scam followed instructions received nothing. Avoid this scam company. You pay and get nothing.

Paid for a basic service, received no text information and then was charged £4.10 by service provider who stated nothing to do with them! Typically no one to contact at 78888, what a con! £4.10 for thin air!!! Horrendous!

An Absolute scam! I put in the registration plate to 78888 and I've had no response from them. Waste of time and money!

Used this service to check my car and for £3 was only told the reg had been changed at some point and nothing else no written off or stolen info as advertised on the website complete waste of money SCAM!

Text my reg and didnt receive any information what so ever. All i received where marketing messages asking for additional money to check things that should have been covered in the apparent gold service £4 text i sent!!!! No contact number no customer helpline. This company better hope i dont find out where they are based! Not happy at all!!!

I was buying a second hand car from a friend and I wanted to do a quick check on it to make sure everything was okay. Simply texted my reg to 78888 and got all the info I wanted before picking up the keys!

This was the first car check service I came across online, which I could do on my 'phone, and therefore have all the details saved and to hand. I am buying a second hand car, and don't want to fall into any traps which you so often hear about.

Whilst I was impressed with the speed and depth of information received from the service, I was highly disappointed when I sent a text "Stop" as directed to un-subscribe from further advertising and marketing texts which may result in further text message charges, I then received a reply stating "You have been unsubscribed, you will no longer be able to use our service from this number" !!!!! How ludicrous! So if your customers wish to use it once, and not again until such time as they NEED it, they aren't able to? What a way to slam the proverbial door in your customers faces! I am highly offended! Also, as an aside, it would be remiss of me not to mention that after this awful attitude-filled message was received, I received a further message from the service, starting "WARNING!" and telling me I should apply for the finance HPI check for an additional £5 or my car could be repossessed. How, this was offered in a previous message from the service, and so had i wished to take them up on the offer, I would have selected it.

Furthermore, does this then mean that "unsubscribe" means that they get the hump with you, that you don't have umpteen cars you want to check willy nilly at £3 a pop, and so block your number from using their services ever again, but they can still send you panic-filled messages warning of the grave danger of not spending yet MORE money???!

I shan't be using this service EVER again, least of all because I simply can't now, as I have clearly annoyed them by unsubscribing!!! Unbelievable!
