My Mother has enjoyed her riser recliner for the past 4 years. We needed another , identical chair.
I called your manufacturer in Somerset — was told the chair was discontinued— but you had one in Somerset, different colour.
I visited the Paisley store to view the colour options on samples.
At Paisley shop I was told it was not possible to arrange delivery to our new home in Norfolk, no delivery over 30 miles possible.
Flat refusal to help from staff.
I called Dave in Somerset , told of nearest shop to Great Yarmouth, in Colchester.
Colchester agreed to deliver , £70 feet- reasonable charge.
Delivered today , all good.
Poor teamwork exhibited at Paisley branch. They simply refused to help when I was happy to purchase a chair that day.
I left the store and called Somerset then Colchester— who served me well.
I had contacted several competitors before trying to buy from paisley store. They continue to call and email me— yet paisley members of your team preferred to send me away empty handed , rather than calling Colchester and helping me get the chair my Mum needed.
Training required .
Can’t L Hester had the chair in store within 48hrs snd delivered in a week—- Paidley refused to ask for rapid delivery to Paisley( within 5 days).
Very poor service .
Colchester were great , thanks.

We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. While we are pleased that you were ultimately able to purchase the chair your mother wanted and that it has now been delivered successfully, we regret that you found the process frustrating.
As Ableworld is not yet a national chain with a centralised delivery network, our franchise stores operate within their own designated territories. This enables each store to provide an efficient and reliable delivery and aftercare service to customers within its local area. For this reason, the Paisley store was unfortunately unable to deliver to your new address in Norfolk.
We are, however, very pleased that on this occasion our Colchester store was able to make an exception and arranged delivery outside of their usual territory for a reasonable charge, ensuring you were still able to receive the chair your mother wanted. We are delighted they were able to assist and successfully complete your order.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, really appreciate your business and are pleased that the manufacturer and the Ableworld store in Colchester were able to help. We hope your mother continues to enjoy her new riser recliner.

Disappointing Staff Experience
My wife & I visited your Paisley store this morning to purchase a walker for my 90-year-old mother, who accompanied us so that she could try out the various models before we made a purchase.
Unfortunately, we found both members of staff to be very unhelpful throughout our visit.
For example, we asked one staff member how to safely fold the walker and how my mother should correctly sit on it and use the brakes. Rather than coming over to demonstrate, the staff member remained standing behind the till and verbally instructed us from a distance. As this was the first time we had looked at walkers for my mother, who is very frail, we wanted to ensure that she could operate it safely and confidently before purchasing. A proper demonstration of how to apply the brakes, collapse the walker, and open it again would have been the level of assistance we expected.
A second example was when we asked another staff member about the difference between the £79.99 and £84.99 walkers. We were told that the seat height was adjustable. When we then asked to see the more expensive model and how the adjustment worked, the response was simply that the side bolts could be removed to adjust the height, followed by the comment, “but you don’t need that.” Again, there was no attempt to properly demonstrate the product or assist my mother in trying it.
Once my wife, mother, and I returned to the car, we all commented on the same thing — the lack of customer care and support shown by the staff.
The walker itself is fine; however, we were also disappointed to discover that the bold prices displayed in-store were ex-VAT prices. This meant the final price of the walker was £15.99 more expensive than the displayed price, which was not immediately clear.
Given that mobility aids are purchased by elderly and often vulnerable customers, I would have expected a much more supportive, patient, and hands-on approach from staff.

Our priority is to ensure that the products we offer are suitable for our customers’ needs and that all questions are fully answered.
If you feel that you were not provided with a full demonstration of the products available to you, or if any of your queries remain unanswered, we would be happy to arrange a further demonstration for you and your relatives. This can be organised directly with the store by calling 0141 889 9925 or by visiting the store again at your convenience.
With regards to VAT exemption, the majority of the products we stock are eligible for VAT relief. We therefore aim to make it clear throughout our in-store marketing that, where applicable, displayed prices are VAT-exempt prices. The process for claiming VAT exemption is quick and straightforward, and our team will always ask customers whether they would like to complete the exemption process if they have a qualifying long-term disability or medical condition

Walked into the shop today after…
Walked into the shop today after phoning the shop to get some prices 20 minutes later got there the ladie ( sorry I forgot your name ) who I spoke to was so reassuring and no pressure to buy so much to choose from in this store well I walked out with a weight lifted as my legs are in constant agony due to my condition can't wait to start using my rascal lol

I recently made a purchase from your store in Paisley and I want to congratulate you on the superb staff you have in store, the ladies are exceptionally good at what they do. Eccellent Service
Excellent prompt service from moment of enquiry for stairlift, getting quote, and eventual installation. Cannot praise Graham, the chairlift installer, for his prompt arrival on time and working until completion of installation and his instructions on use before leaving premises.

As a veteran of this country
As a veteran of this country, I asked my daughter to phone ableworld paisley in regards to a scooter I saw yesterday,was told it wasn’t ready for purchase due to being on it’s first charge cycle,the said scooter was destined to be donated to another veteran in need,on the call with ableworld my daughter was spoken to rudely by a narcissistic member of staff called Caroline,who wasn’t willing to sell the scooter even though I have purchased two of them recently and had no issue paying the VAT. how dare you speak to my daughter like that.i think Caroline needs to go back to customer service school,rude and obnoxious,won’t be using this service again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are really sorry, if you or your daughter felt that the way we handled your enquiry came across as rude, as this was certainly not our intention.
Our colleague Caroline only wished to gain a little more detail about the donation, as part of our standard practice. Wherever possible, we recommend either an in-store or home demonstration for the end user of the product, so that we can assess each user’s needs and ensure the scooter being purchased is suitable for their needs. This is why Caroline asked your daughter a few questions about how the scooter was being donated, simply to understand more about the end user and whether we could provide further guidance or assistance.
Our customers are entitled to VAT exemption if they are eligible. It is part of our process to ask these questions to ensure that our customers get the best product at the best price.
We appreciate what a kind and generous gesture it is for you to be donating scooters to support other veterans. Caroline has assured us that her only intention was to be helpful.

Stairlift install
Just had a stairlift fitted for my mother, Graeme from Ableworld measured up then installed the unit, taking time to demonstrate operation. This has made a great improvement to my mothers mobility, an excellent job done by somebody who knows what they’re doing!

Ableworld put in a chair lift for me
Ableworld put in a chair lift for me
They are the only company that told me it was vat free from my first call right through the process was great. From heather in the paisley office to Graham who installed it was excellent t I cannot praise them enough and the cost was a fraction of other quotes
I needed the lift because I had a very bad fall on the stairs and now I have the confidence to use the stairs anytime!!

I bought a handicare 1100 stairlift…
I bought a handicare 1100 stairlift from the Paisley branch, on 10th February 2024.,and was so pleased with the customer service and communication from the staff keeping me informed on progress. The installation was made simple by Graham the engineer who got the chair up and running in a timely and professional manner. I would highly recommend the company for any disability needs.

New stairlift
Recently purchased a stairlift from Ableworld, Paisley.
Really good service and price. Searched many companies before and received various quotes but Ableworld offered the lowest price and included good package.
The engineer Graham who installed the lift was great. Really helpful and patient. Left the house tidy.
Have since called Ableworld for help with the stairlift. The engineer (once again Graham) was on the door step within the hour.
Would recommend reviewing their products and services.

Poor customer service
My husband visited the Paisley branch with my 83year old mother and after failing to find a suitable aid I returned a few days later with her to try again. The experience we both had was poor and we both felt that we were inconveniencing the assistant. The attitude and customer service was not good and although we eventually got the right product I would seriously look at your ethos and approach to customers.

A 5 star stairlift
An excellent company very helpful in my local store, stairlift demonstration in store was vey good and the customer service was excellent. Stairlift was delivered on time and the installation by Graham was excellent. Graham took great care while installing the chair lift and he explained in great detail how to operate the stairlift and how to deal with any issues that may occur during the operation of the stairlift. All in all a very good and professional company with very good staff.

Superb Service
Superb service and excellent installation by Graham. Cannot fault their level of service and expertise. Survey was done and the Stairlift was fitted within a few days later. Delighted with the speed and efficiency.
Staff in the store were excellent to deal with also.

Ordered Bag for walking aid by phone
Ordered Bag for walking aid by phone. Paid by card. Bag arrived a few days later. Staff (Heather) phoned to confirm arrival. Picked it up today. No problems and a wee bit cheaper than via an ebay supplier.
