I had a query concerning my husband's Access Card which went missing. Prompt and efficient reply with a pleasant and helpful customer service adviser. If only all services could be as good as this!
Exhausting with no empathy
The whole experience of advocating for my child has been exhausting, it doesn’t seem to matter what evidence you gain the answer is no until multiple reviews and complaints. The email system is faceless and would recommend ignoring the message and wait to speak to a person as this has been the only way I have had any progress.

Unfair and complicated renewal process
Update: still no further forward claiming I haven't sent updated proof on my form when I did. Had the same issue during my initial application when they hadn't bothered to check the proof I uploaded to my form. I getting responses every 4 days or so for simple requests. Kept asking for them to contact me via WhatsApp which is an option for messaging and they still haven't and are not reading my emails properly. Exhausting.
My access card really improved getting out of the house for me and my experiences, I started to feel at ease about going out, especially to busy places. However, the renewal process has been frustrating.
Sent proof that needs hadn't changed and wasn't issued a card with the same symbols despite nothing changing and providing more detailed proof than I did before, this was not enough, apparently. The renewal process is as lengthy as the initial application. I struggle with filling out forms and have minimal help so it took a lot to me to go through it anyway.
I am having to either go without my card or pay £60 for my doctor to tick a box on a form the Access Card team sent to me which isn't practical for me currently as I cannot work full time, due to my disability.
My money was paid in September, this is still not resolved. I have disabilities that affect my cognitive thinking and organisation, amongst other things so the head space for this is minimal, which is a shame as in turn it has meant that I have missed out on attending trips out as my old card expired in July.
Yet again disabled people have to jump through hurdles to get the help they need.
I'm really disappointed in my experience of renewing my card.

Simple application process thanks to Wetherby Racecourse
The application process is simple and it is clear what documents are required to be uploaded for proof of disability and more importantly, how it affects you.
Wetherby Racecourse helped me with the initial application and everything was sorted within two days. I have an Access number but I am still waiting to receive my physical card through the post. It should save lots of time and trouble in the future when purchasing tickets etc
