Job Offer Withdrawn Without Notice After Months of Process

My experience with Adecco has been extremely disappointing from start to finish. The entire onboarding process felt disorganised, confusing and unnecessarily stressful. The process started in September, there were far too many people involved, and despite this, no one ever responded properly to calls or emails. They rushed me to complete forms, submit documents and sign the contract and several forms, but I never received clear information on the exact start date. I was told 11.11.2025, then 18.11.2025, then 19.11.2025 and none of these actually happened.

I completed DBS checks, submitted every document they requested, signed the contract, and received a confirmed start date on 7.11.2025. Then I received further emails on 12.11.2025 and 14.11.2025 about training, the HMRC laptop, and credentials that were supposed to arrive on 17.11.2025. After that, nothing. I received absolutely no updates. No equipment arrived, no login details were provided, and no one contacted me with any information.

I repeatedly tried to contact Catalina Hajek (Principal Onboarding Coordinator), who had been involved throughout my onboarding. Catalina Hajek’s lack of communication was shocking, especially given her role. She did not reply to any of my calls or emails during a critical time, which showed a complete lack of professionalism and consideration for candidates. When I called the Adecco helpline, I was simply told she was “busy,” with no further assistance or explanation. For a process involving so many people, the level of communication was shockingly poor.

This entire situation caused genuine distress, not just to me but also to my family.
I had to cancel several appointments, adjust personal commitments, and reorganise my family’s schedules based on the dates Adecco provided, only to be left with no explanation, no communication and no job start.

The whole experience felt like a black hole, information went in, but nothing ever came back. There was very little clarity at any stage, and I was left completely in the dark. Even the basic structure of the job seemed unclear. No proper timelines, vague expectations, and poorly explained pay details added to the confusion. Overall, the process made me feel that candidate wellbeing and communication were not treated as a priority.

It is clear from many other recent reviews that I am not the only person who has gone through this kind of experience with Adecco. Far too many candidates have faced the same lack of communication, last-minute changes, and careless handling of job offers. This shows a serious and ongoing problem within the onboarding structure.

Adecco should take strict action against the people responsible for these failures and fix the internal processes that keep causing distress to candidates. No one should be treated this way after months of commitment, paperwork and preparation.

Given the time, stress, disruption and emotional impact caused, Adecco should also consider compensation for candidates who have been put through this unnecessary hardship.

Clare Adecco above and beyond

I was looking for work and sort of losing hope but Clare from the Romford Branch contacted me. Clare went above and beyond managing to find an interviews for me such a short space of time. Clare made me feel in powered contacting me regularly, keeping me upto date and making sure I had the right upto date information and also gave guides on how to manage interviews. Clare managed to find the right job for my skills. Other staff members were also helpful too.

Excellent employment Agency!

I signed upto Adecco almost 10 years ago. Im very pleased with the progression and development I've made. Adecco are very professional and helpful and always work hard to get suitable jobs for me tailored to my personal preferences. They have a wide selection of job roles available. They are very good at communicating and ensure payment is made on time weekly. Im very pleased and would highly recommend Adecco as a first choice for both Permanent and temporary roles.

When they tell you “I’ll get someone to call you back shortly” just look elsewhere as it’s just going round in circles from that point. I don’t believe them to even be a genuine agency, seems they lure people in with the promise of work then mess you around. You have to constantly call them as they don’t call back. At all.

Seems Quite shady and sadistic

Unfair Annual Leave Policy for New Starters – Lost Entitlement After One Month

​I am writing this review to highlight a significant flaw in the company's annual leave (PAL) policy, which unfairly penalizes new starters and resulted in me losing my accrued holiday entitlement immediately after my first month of work.

​My start date was September 9th, and the company's holiday year refreshes on October 1st. This meant I was with the company for a little over three weeks before the annual leave cutoff.

​The Issue
​Despite working for the latter part of September, I only accrued 1 single day of annual leave before the holiday year ended. The policy strictly states that no accrued leave can be carried over.

​When I contacted the company to query the loss of this day, the response was that it was my "responsibility" to have booked and taken the leave, and since I did not formally request it, it was forfeited.

​The Unreasonable Expectation

​The company failed to acknowledge the fundamental reality of being a new starter:

1.​Timing was Impossible: I had only a handful of working days after accruing the leave before the cutoff date.

​2.Unprofessional Expectation: No reasonable person starts a new job and immediately asks to take a holiday within their first two to three weeks of employment. Doing so during the critical training/onboarding period is widely considered inappropriate and unprofessional.

​3.Lack of Flexibility: The company refused to make a practical, one-time exception, stating that the policy must be followed rigidly, even when it directly results in a new employee losing their earned entitlement due to the specific timing of their start date.

​In effect, the company's policy forced me into a choice: either risk my professional standing by immediately asking for a day off, or lose the day I had earned. I chose to focus on my new role, and as a result, my first accrued day of holiday was forfeited.

​Conclusion

​While I understand the need for rules, the rigid application of the "use it or lose it" policy without a grace period for employees starting right before the holiday year refresh is unfair and highly discouraging. This shows a lack of empathy and practical consideration for the onboarding experience.

​New starters should be made aware of this critical detail on day one, and a fairer process (like automatically carrying over small accrued amounts for those starting in September) should be implemented. Be cautious if you start employment near the holiday year end, as you are likely to lose any entitlement you accrue.

​Rating: 1/5 (Poor) - For an inflexible policy that penalizes new employees.
