They scammed me with the VIP subscription membership too. I contacted my credit card company to dispute the two months @ $29.99 each. They credited back my account for the two payments and then CHARGED MY ACCOUNT AGAIN! I finally had the credit card company shut down that account number and issue me a new card with a new account number to prevent them from charging me again in the future.

The product is great! but sadly the sneaky membership scheme that they trick you into 'signing up' for is a scam.
I argued with them for weeks until my bank reviewed our communications and agreed that I hadn't consented to the membership and the bank reimbursed me the money they had taken.
They are also very reluctant to confirm (upon request) that they have deleted your personal data. They did eventually confirm but the amount of avoiding the request leads me to think they are doing something suspect with the data.

Continued to take money out of my account even when I had paid cash for purchase. This truly is a scam and now no longer on Facebook. The cheap product is something you could have bought in a discount store.

Saw this ad. Thought it would be great to help wash the back. Pictures were impressive. We'll, got them. A single piece of very cheap netting with a thin white string on both ends. THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT BUY. THIS IS MY SECOND REVIEW. THEY SAW MY FIRST 1, THEN THEY DECIDED TO STEAL MONEY OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT. THANK GOODNESS MY BANK CAUGHT IT AND REVERSED THE CHARGES. NOPE .NOT GONNA GET AWAY WITH THAT. SOOOO BUYER BEWARE. DONT USE THIS LYING COMPANY.

I also got scammed by this ‘subscription service’. Don’t buy from them - they refuse to refund and don’t answer the question about what you actually get for this ‘subscription’, despite many emails to them. I notified my bank and got a refund through them as no items or services were received from said subscription.

Be careful they will scam you into VIP and you won’t get your money back. Plus with VIP you don’t even get product for $29.99.

the net scrubs are good in themselves, but like other reviewers have said it automatically subscribes you to a £23/per month subscription which you are unaware you have subscribed to. the customer service is decent however they take a while to post out and delivery instructions are unclear on the website. also think the scrubs are not worth the money you pay however they're decent products but you could definitely get them cheaper.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. SCAM YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY, SIGN YOU UP FOR SUBSCRIPTIONS YOU DIDNT AGREE TO. Would give 0* but isn't an option.

Wish I'd read reviews... subscription scam! Whilst I received the scrubs they then proceeded to take £23 from my account for a subscription I never subscribed to... worst thing about this subscription is it isn't for a further product but for "early access and member benefits" battling for a refund. They have so far refused...completely illegal practice! Expensive lesson learnt. Do NOT buy from this company!!

AfroScrub signed me up for a “VIP subscription” without my full consent and began charging me £23 per month. No products were ever sent. When I complained, I received an unhelpful response. From reading other reviews, this appears to be a pattern. Please do not order from this company.

Would give negative stars. This company is a fraud and same with the carrier they use ACI Logistixs. Stole 60.00. It’s gone. The carrier says they have proof they delivered to my rural address, but lied. They can’t provide a signed receipt when stated they had a signed receipt. Tried to cancel before product was shipped because they sent an email saying they were out of stock but could replace with something else I didn’t want. The prices from what read is plastic anyway so putting micro plastics on your skin is gross enough, but lying and stealing is disgusting.

Like many others here, I was signed up for a subscription that wasn't aware of until I checked my bank account a couple of days ago. They have charged me NZD$52 a month, for I'm not sure what. It seems to be just an email that I signed up for. I couldn't find any evidence of this subscription when I looked today. I have sent them several emails and all they have offered me is a discount voucher. Have reported to Shop, but will they do anything?

It is a great product. Its a shame the company runs a "VIP membership" scam that will insure I never purchase the product from them again. Looks like a lot of people have had the same experience.

BIG SCAMMERS. I received the items I ordered. The shipping took extremely long. I was pleased with the product once it arrived but then I started receiving a recurring $29.99 charge. I contacted the company. They said it was for a subscription that I signed up for. I did not sign up for a subscription. I requested that they cancel the subscription, they agreed but would not refund the charges. I asked them what I was supposed to receive for the subscription as I never received anything more than the items I purchased. There has been no response. Buyer beware! They sell a good product but they ruin their credibility with this sneaky trick.DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.BEWARE!!!

the Afro scrubbing cloth itself is great
but its the dodgy way they take other payments - like its a subscription. Had to cancel my card and my bank managed to get my money refunded. Dodgy practices. Dont purchase from this website - cannot be trusted.

You buy their product and they use your card details to subscribe you to their membership (with no authorisation!). They then refuse to refund your money and they keep your card details. BEWARE. Fraudulent company.

Placed a ONE time order. finally received. I started reconciling my bank account. OMG, TWO more debits!!! They are impossible to contact. I need to get a refund and cancel this reoccurring debit.

My wife made a purchase from this store in July and since then she has been charged £23 a month without her agreeing to any subscriptions. I just looked through the site and it isn’t hidden, there is just genuinely no indication of signing up to any subscriptions. The checkout process looks like just a one time purchase, yet they charge you monthly for some unknown reason. Please report this to your bank and issue a chargeback. Contact shopify and advise them of this if it has happened to you too

Afroscrub.com is an outright scam. Not once during my purchase was there any mention or hint of an ongoing subscription. Yet, I was hit with hidden monthly charges and received no help or refunds. Do not trust them—avoid at all costs.
