Exactly the same experience as many other reviewers. A sneaky and completely illegal addition of a 'subscription' that I never authorised. They repeatedly ignored my refund requests and instead offered discount codes. Awful company

I purchased 2 afroscrub nets and really like how they clean your skin. The problem comes when you subscribe to them but you didn't know it was a subscription. I contacted them the same day and they refused to refund my money.

I can wash my back much easier now.
My lower legs & feet also get more attention. Thank you for making that possible.

A one time purchase has led to numerous £23 being taken from my account. I have contacted them they said I must’ve pressed subscribe on their website by mistake but what am I subscribing to? They don’t send me anything. This is the third month this has happened. I’ve asked them to cancel it. They said they’ve cancelled it. They won’t refund my money which surely is fraud I’ve contacted the fraud department at my bank who were looking into it. They must’ve kept card details to reuse monthly. It’s a real shame because the product is lovely and I would’ve bought from them again as gifts but not now. I’ve gone back and looked through their website at no point does it mention a subscription not once I highlighted this to them they just said will give you a 50% off your next purchase gift card. I don’t want 50% off I want my money back. DO NOT PURCHASE THUS PRODUCT ITS NOT WORTH THE HASSLE

Just got a charge on my card for 29.99, they unknowingly signed me up for subscription that I did not want. I had no idea that I was even sign up for it. Also the “VIP” subscription is just update on new products coming out. So I’m paying 30$ for news. It’s ridiculous. I just wanted a 1 time purchase and ended up getting charged all this. Don’t buy from them.

Scam. I wished I came here to check reviews before ordering. I got burned by the same unexpected “subscription”, which charged me £23 the next month after my order. I e-mailed them and they said they cancelled my order…but I don’t trust that. I saw reviews here saying they will they again to take money the next month. I am planning to call my bank and replace my payment card. So much trouble with replacing cards, and money stollen from me. Beware.

Scammers. Do not buy from them. Shipping takes forever and they automatically sign you up for a subscription

I have made a purchase through their website in June. Order arrived extremely late and the quality is debatable but the worst part is that they automatically subscribe you to some kind of membership without tell you and charge you GBP23.00every months.

When questioned about the charge, the customer service team explained it was for VIP Support and for exclusive news communication!

They refuse to refund you even though I have never consented to sign to any subscription.

Recurring charge for bogus subscription for absolutely nothing. They charged my credit card $29.99 which I never authorized and when I went to the website to cancel, I receding an email saying that my subscription was canceled. Fast forward to the next month, and again, they tried to charge me again as if the subscription was still active. I'm reporting to the fraud department. Everyone should do this if you've been charged. If they are not refunding these fraudulent charges, maybe a class action lawsuit should be put together.

Agree with other reviewers. Product is great but you end up with a £30/month subscription and their "one click membership cancellation" is actually a multi email discussion with customer service. The subscription doesn't get you anything either, no product etc.

I placed an order on April 26th 2025, today is September 2, 2025 and I have not received the order after 4 different correspondence. Each time that I get a response, promises of upcoming delivery never come to fruition.

Sneaky company who take $29.99 on a regular payment without obtaining permission to do so.
Purchased the scrubs - which are ok (no better than one from Boots UK) and expensive for what you receive.
When I placed an order. There was a line which included for free VIP access to early product launches. Didn't think anything of it at the time of purchase as it was free - no details of any form of recurring payments or holding credit card details. Then on 29/08 they charged my credit card with $29.99 for this VIP access. Contacted customer support who then told me this was a recurring membership. I was shocked and felt duped. They won't refund so reporting it as a fraudulent transaction. There isn't any detail on their website.

I was initially pleased with the products I ordered, quality was good and delivery smooth. Unfortunately, I discovered I had been signed up to a $29.99/month subscription at checkout without my express consent. The “Premium VIP Support” add-on was automatically set to quantity 1, which is not lawful under UK consumer law.

At first the company refused a full refund, offering only a voucher or partial credit. After I challenged them citing UK regulations, they did eventually process a full refund and cancel the subscription.

While I appreciate the refund was finally honoured, I feel customers shouldn’t need to know consumer law to avoid hidden charges. This overshadowed what could have been a good shopping experience.

My advice: check your basket carefully before you pay.

I purchased African Black Soap (3 in a pack) on July 28, 2025. I was charged for the product and shipping protection, and I received my order a few days later. On August 28th, 2025, my bank was debited £23.00 without me having made an order. I contacted the company today and received a quick reply that appeared to be a template response to customers, stating that I had clicked a subscription that was nonexistent when I checked out during my initial order. I was also informed that my money would not be refunded, but instead, I was offered a gift card. However, I have not received a further response to my email.

I should have read the reviews before placing an order with the company. I fell prey to the unwanted membership cost. Only to be told it is not their practice to offer refunds, but will offer a gift card. Why would I want to spend more money with a company that has such terrible practices. Never will I place another order. Beware, Beware, Beware. And the membership fee was charged at 3:45am when most people are sleep in the US.

Do not buy from this company. I wish I had done some research prior to making a purchase. They do not come from Africa as they say. They come from China, which is cleverly hidden. Also, without any knowledge you enter into a subscription, allowing them to take money out of your account monthly. Neither this, nor the subscription are mentioned at any point of sale.. They're a scam.

Sponge itself is fine. The £31 a month subscription not fine. This additional cost does not come with any products it is a digital subscription. Why do you need a digital subscription for a sponge you wash with? Smart ring or watch I understand the need but a shower sponge I don't They will not refund either so don't use them.

very disappointed - I bought these scrubs as part of a buy one get one free offer, but I only received 1. Also it is very disappointing to know these items are made in China, so no ver African I would say.

Do not buy from this company. I have had the same experience re the subscription matter. I asked them to cancel and provide me credit for the deduction for the subscription. They offered me a 50% gift card off my next purchase instead which is useless as I will never shop with them again. This was probably a fake offer as well.. They said they have cancelled my subscription but I have no guarantee or evidence of that. This company needs to be stopped. The product is okay but the scam on subscription is a disgrace. BEWARE.

Do not buy from this company! The actual product itself is fine and what I ordered- however subsequent payments have been taken from my bank for the past 2 months …
Contacted them and they said it’s a premium subscription service I signed up for at checkout ( I didn’t) and that they will cancel the subscription but refused a refund. Now talking to my bank to try and get the money back this way. Save yourself the headache and avoid this company.
