Tour at Niagara Falls and the maple syrup stop was a highlight!

Someone on google called Airlink's false luxury Niagara tour brutal and that's a fact. 

In real life Airlink pressure people into writing good reviews so ratings online don't reflect what happens for real. Check other sites and people will mention mug bribes. You will also see a suspicious number of 5 stars in short bursts too and that's because of the bribes.

What type of tour provider do you have to be resorting to pressuring people to write good reviews for skewing online ratings? 

Apparently Airlink will try to call you also and strongarm you into deleting negative reviews online. That is unprofessional and creepy. Where is the respect for people's anonimity and privacy?

Airlink looks like they will also try their hardest to discredit people who say bad but truthful things about them also with some gaslighting. All people are speaking out about is the truth of shady dealings that go on here. And they are not adult enough to handle people who call out their shadiness.

La plus grande arnaque du monde. Where is the consideration towards French speakers? We are in Canada. 

Advice is to avoid them. Airlink is unscrupulous and terrible Niagara tour company.

In my view, this business (or at least whoever's running the Google reviews page) doesn't seem to be able to receive negative feedback or constructive criticism well. Confrontational responses to negative reviews instead of responding with sympathy reflects poorly on customer service, which is evident in their responses on Google reviews. The unfriendly responses online may put potential customers off from booking Niagara tours with Airlink.

Even if bad reviews sting, the business should handle responses with more grace and seize the bad reviews as opportunities to improve their services in the future. At the end of the day, friendliness is expected in the hospitality and tourism industries.

Moreover, the business should have been more upfront and honest by what they meant by "luxury". What they call "luxury" falls short of what we're personally used to, even at similar price points in even more touristy places than Ontario. A bit of candor during marketing goes a long way and impacts how customers perceive and eventually rate the business.

Overall, although the Niagara falls were lovely, my personal experience with the "luxury" tour and Airlink's customer service were very poor and disappointing.

Your bus broke down. We were given a discount of 97 between 11 people. Owner was very rude after the review and called my family to complain about the bad review. Who does that?!

First of all, this is NOT a "Luxury Day Tour".

There's nothing luxurious about it, as you are in an average bus which is effectively just a taxi to the Niagara Falls. No luxury, anywhere. It's just empty and misleading sales language.

Second, the reviews are *illegitimately solicited*.

All people are asked during the last hour on the bus to write a 5-star review for the trip on TripAdvisor and Viator, using Haroon's WiFi hotspot, and by doing so, they get a free mug. Illegitimate techniques to increase 5-star reviews and - again - mislead potential customers (as well as contravening TripAdvisor's rules on soliciting reviews).

Note that WiFi was only given when they requested that we submit a 5-star review in order to receive the mug. This review had to be submitted BEFORE we left the tour bus in order to receive the mug. This is unethical and disgraceful behaviour.

Third, everything is about raking in the cash from the 17-20 people on the bus.

The second you enter the bus, you're hit with a sign that demands you pay 15-25% of the tour cost to the driver (See photo attached). Of all the places I've been to in Canada and Toronto, I've not once been hit by such a demand. Tips are earned, not requested as guaranteed. You're brought to a shop to taste maple syrup - and expected to buy more in the shop. Same with the chocolate tasting. There's nothing about it worthy of a tour, and the talk on the maple syrup lasts 2-minutes, and you spend the last 28-minutes expected to buy something so the tour company gets a kickback of the profit. They way they phrase this part of the tour is entirely - again - misleading.

Fourth, this is no "tour guide experience".

It's a taxi service. Standard day tours throughout Canada involve an active tour guide speaking on the bus about the city, its history, and other spots along the drive. Here, the so-called tour guide stays silent throughout the entire drive. Taxi service, effectively. It is an absolute outrage to call this a day tour. It's nothing of the kind. You will stop off at a statue and Haroon will speak for about 5-minutes on that statue, but that's about it. It's nothing like legitimate day tours throughout Canada.

Fifth, I caught an infection from Haroon - the taxi guide.

We noticed that Haroon was quite clearly sick with something, a cold-like illness perhaps. I was concerned about catching this infection and, surprise surprise, 2 days later I fell sick and my entire trip through Toronto was soured - lacking energy and having to rest for prolonged periods. Haroon should absolutely not have done a trip with customers who are on holiday, contaminating the entire bus. Now, of course, they can just deny this illness, but my and other's experience says otherwise. It was a disgrace to do the tour when sick, and sabotage tourist's vacation experience.

Sixth, the Niagara Falls are amazing.

Yes, the falls are amazing. But that's not what you're paying for with this tour. You expect more from a day tour, and definitely more at this kind of price. This so-called tour company may pick you up and drop you off on time, but as an actual tour - it falls well below standards. For all the reasons I outlined above.

Conclusion

Just save your money and avoid this misleading and false tour experience. It uses nothing more than illegitimate techniques, misleading language, and sales bluster to mask what people actually experience. And to solicit 5-star reviews on a bus as a means of earning even more cash says everything you need to know about the unethical values that define this company's low standards.

Such a good experience, our guide Shahz was very patient and explained everything about the Falls. Really entertaining tour.
Maybe the stay at the Falls was a bit too long (3 hours). 2 would have been enough.
