Could not sit alone in a row?!
The flight departed on time and the check-in process was smooth and efficient.
Although the aircraft was quite empty and no one was seated next to me, I was approached four times by the crew members and told I could not sit alone in a row. I was also informed that someone would be moved from the back of the aircraft to sit beside me. This was confusing and uncomfortable. If the intention was to redistribute passengers from the back to the front, why were seats not allocated more evenly in the first place? Additionally, if passengers had already chosen or paid for specific seats, it seems unreasonable to require them to relocate without necessity.
On an 8-hour international flight, I was surprised to learn that passengers are required to pay for earphones to use the entertainment system, as well as for blankets. Expecting passengers to purchase basic items essential for comfort during a long-haul flight is quite terrible.

Feb 07 - 14, (fligjt shouldve been canceled before leaving Toronto) was cut short in cuba with less than 15hrs notice due to fuel. Mean while they had at least 2 other planes coming in, one on feb 16. Found out in lobby Feb 11 at 2:30pm we were leaving feb 12 at 8:30am next morning. Lost our 75.00 nonrefundable deposit for friday excursion. Others in our group were switched to feb 16. Asked if we could stay til monday and switch with people leaving Monday (that needed to be home by Saturday) and we would pay extra, was told outright by air trans ass resort rep. (Who was totally useless) Nope not up for discussion. We had to go pack and try to make arrangements for pickup in Toronto to St.catharines 2 days early. No luck, had to take taxi 185.00, on plane we didn't get return seat selection we paid 196.00 for. Was told we were getting refund of 248.00 for room 2 nites, yay, only received 191.00. Actually We lost out on 3 nites 4 full days and added expenses due to their poor decision making. Someone needs to be held responsible and terminated for allowing flight to leave Toronto. Bottom line, screw customers for financial gain. We were group of 16 on Facebook forums. Make it right !!! Karma is waiting.. don't give us your general response sorry B.S... just make it right !!! Reimbursement for added expenses and future credits is a start... you ruined our vacation. My wife is a nurse, had large suitcase full of meds and supplies, didn't get to where they were meant to go. Make it right !!! Air Canada did the right thing and canceled flights leaving. We were ready to pre-booked on an alternative flight to different destination leaving same time with our air trans ass travel agent. We want full reimbursement for 3 nites plus expenses. If we wanted to go to Cuba for 4 or 5 days, it would've cost less than 900.00 each. Don't insult us with less than 200.00 for 2 nites. Vacation ment more to us than that amount. Reimbursement and Credit towards next year's trip would be a good start to make it right.. think about if it was you in this spot. Karma...
Final Notice Sent: Filing Small Claims for over 15 hr flight delays to/from DR
I am writing this review to warn others about Air Transatâs refusal to follow the Air Passenger Protection Regulations (APPR).
My vacation was disrupted by two major delays:
⢠Flight TS626 on Jan16th: 7-hour delay to the Dominican Republic.
⢠Flight did not leave Moncton till Jan17th
⢠Flight TS627 on Jan 23rd: 8 + hour delay returning home.
Total delay time: 15+ hours. Under Canadian law, I am entitled to $700.00 per passenger for delays of 6+ hours. Total would be $2800.00 for my partner and I.
Despite clearly meeting the criteria, Air Transatâs customer service has flatly refused compensation. I have officially sent Air Transat with a 14-day Final Notice. If the legally mandated compensation is not paid by March 11th, 2026, 14 days from my notice, I will be proceeding with a filing in Small Claims Court.
I have documented all evidence, including the airlineâs stated reasons for the delay, and will be seeking the full amount plus court costs." I also have documentation from FlightAware.

Traveled to Cuba. Experience with the flight was great as expected. Travel guide, Jorje, was great. He thouroughly explained the available tours and what to expect. He was very friendly, even coming to the pool side to see how yhings were going and our satisfaction. We explained a few concerns we had and he immediately took care of them. No only for us but for future visitors. Great guide, great person. Thanks Jorje for the wonderful experience.

Paid extra £ for specific seats with more legroom - 2 seats. It didnt happen. Applied nearly 3 months ago for refund, ive chased up and still nothing. Thats stealing in my book. Don't bother upgrading. Rip off
Worst Airline Ever. ZERO Customer Service
Worst airline out there. They provide budget airline level service and amenities but charge like any other airline.
But aside from that, my biggest concern is their total disregard for passenger issues that are brought to their attention. Recently, on my outbound flight, when they put my meal on the tray table, the tray table bent and the hot food dumped into my lap.
Then on the inbound flight back a couple weeks later, I had an exit row seat and the flight attendants smashed the trolley into my shin first, then my knee the next passthrough, and finally ran over my foot. Again, no apologies, no regard for passengers. This caused a nasty injury to my leg and two weeks later I am still walking poorly.
I wrote Air Transat 2 complaints about all this and they have completely ignored me. And I would bet that when/if they eventually do respond it will be along the lines of, "We are sorry you had a bad experience, we aim to provide our passengers the highest level of service, etc. etc." But in reality, they will do nothing to compensate me, because, ultimately, they don't care at all about their passengers.
If you don't believe me that they don't care, look out for their response, or lack thereof, to this review.
Air Transat were the best but no moreâŠ
For many years Air Transat were the best economy transatlantic airline based on our four previous flights and the awards they won but goodness me, no more. They have changed our flights, our onward travel is in tatters, no apology just an email which effectively means 'suck it up' and if you really want them to wind you up, try calling them, complete disaster call service although the call operator was doing her best and nice they don't seem to have the info at their fingertips I wonder if they are working from home?. Canada is huge, a several hour change to your flights mean you cannot travel until the next day in many cases. They have informed me that I cannot get a refund as our change is just short of 3 hours without being charged a fee of £200

2- La premiere fois le message dit quâil y a 2 heures dâattente.
3- DeuxiÚme & TroisiÚme tentatives pour entendre encore pire 3 heures.

Air Transat corporate dishonest thieves!
Our flights were cancelled due to a potential strike (these things happen). we re-booked our flights with another carrier after following the advice on the Air Transat website and on our return to the UK we submitted a claims form as detailed on the Air Transat website.
Following multiple emails, detailing the claim, supplying all of the information requested including proof of payment and boarding passes. The customer service specialist Phillippe denied our claim as he stated that we were offered an alternative flight before we booked with another carrier.
Unfortunately, due to us submitting the claim on our return to the UK, the time stamp convert back to our local time. Although I sent proof of this and it fully, explained the time lines, Phillippe still said no!
So the moral of the story is don't follow the official advice on the website, don't submit every level of information and proof requested and don't ever fly with Air Transat - So sad as we have been flying with them for over 20 years!

Passengers flying Toronto-Glasgow-Toronto on Eco Ticket and because of a family emergency, I requested a compassionate fare amendment to change passengers' departure to an alternative date. After a wait time of over 1 hour by phone, finally got through to a customer services representative who advised me - no exceptions under any circumstances. Why could the airline not cancel booking and rebook an alternative date? The airline could have resold the seats. Disappointing and unprofessional as well as unethical practices.

Lucky escape after reading the reviews
Lucky escape after reading the reviews. Tried to book flights through Sky scanner for multiple dates and every trip after paying said error after uploading full details and payment. Phoned up customer service to ask why flights are showing and it took 30 minutes to speak to someone. They said flights will have been available but not now for operational reasons. This looks a common occurrence after researching.
Never again
NEVER again booking with Air Transat, the Montreal staff especially is extremely rude and clique-y and the customer service team on the phone was not helpful whatsoever.
We saw workers touching each other inappropriately behind the counter, yelling at flight attendants, threatening to call security, engaging in fights with people. Horrible attitude, very smug staff!
Horrendous customer service
Absolutely horrendous customer service. Changed our flights due to âoperational requirementsâ but the new itinerary didnât make any sense, required us to fly to a brand new connection but no flight from there to our end destination. Had to call multiple times, speak with multiple operators to even understand what our issue was. Still waiting for resolution two weeks on from when our flights were changed and we are 40 days away from our actual trip.
