AJ Taylor installed 6 solar panels and a Tesla battery to our home. They were extremely efficient in carrying out this work, both at office and installer level. Communications were excellent and very customer focussed. The installation was completed on schedule. Very good post completion suport. Particularly helpful was their guidance throughout the process- essential for anyone like us who has limited knowledge of what is/ is not needed for optimum performance.

The team from AJ Taylors, led by Matt Teal, did a fantastic job for us at the end of April 24.
They kept us informed about how the installation would proceed (navigating around the unreliable weather) and explained to us - clearly - how the PV panels would work.
They involved us in the proposed routing and layout of the various bits of kit and on completion the ‘nerve centre’ was worthy of admiration.
The lads worked purposefully and efficiently and were exceptionally friendly - it was a pleasure to have them around.
The work was completed within the proposed timescales and was tidied up and left in excellent order.
On completion, being concerned about the strong winds rattling the scaffolding, the Company responded quickly to our concerns raised in an ‘out of hours’ email.
Following the brief resume after the installation we had a further visit from Darren who gave us a full explanation of how the system would work and how we could track it. We received full and comprehensive documentation in hard copy form which was followed up electronically.
The installation has been fascinating to monitor and has lived up to all the detailed proposals discussed during the early stages with A J Taylors.
We can highly recommend A J Taylors as an efficient and caring Company who perform to a very high standard.
Also, it is a good feeling to be producing our own renewable energy.
On that basis we have recommissioned our hot tub!

I had solar panels and Tesla battery installed and am very pleased with both. A.J. Taylor were first class from being to end and did everything they said they would do. The staff that dealt with me were excellent and the standard of workmanship was also excellent nothing was too much trouble.

Having found A J Taylor through a Google search and checked out their website, the first plus for me was being able to call the office with my enquiry. I was greeted by a friendly and helpful staff member who sorted out an appointment for me. The electrician arrived ahead of schedule, which was fine with me, and quickly sorted out the problem. It was good to see he had a young assistant with him who was learning the trade and was given the opportunity to do some of the practical work. I was very pleased with the service and will definitely use A J Taylor again when the need arises and would recommend the company.

From survey to quote stage and then install and fit - just a professional, competitively priced job carried out by experienced electrical contractors who work methodically, fast & clean up after themselves. And the contractors are friendly, happy guys too.

Panasonic heat pump review
AjTaylor (AJT) installed our Panasonic heat pump /aircon in Aug 2023.

The Unit

Heating is 1kw(e) in, 3.5kw(h) out (at max efficiency - it drops as the outside temp drops). So running costs would a bit more than gas. But we use a Tesla Powerwall (charged at 7.5p/kwh) which brings the running costs down to about 2.5p/kwh(h). The unit will run as an aircon in the summer.

Ordering Another

We love it and we're ordering another (from AJT again) for the lounge, now that we know it's quiet. The outside unit is also pretty quiet. AJT installed the 1st one with very little fuss. The guys who did it are very nice and confident in their work.

AJT also installed our solar panels and Tesla Powerwall. A confident and knowledgeable company. FGAS accredited. We've been really happy with them and recommend them without hesitation.

Had a minor fault with lighting wiring and called AJ Taylor. The guys surprisingly arrived the same day. They've found the fault and seemigly fixed it, however when I checked later, it still wasn't working properly (the light was working either in one room or another, but not both), so I had to redo this myself after them.

UPD: It was easier for me to fix this myself (took maybe 20 minutes) rather than calling, asking to fix this and waiting until they can schedule the visit. I also paid for the work without questions as they did help to locate the original problem.

The work was of a really high standard and all of the installers were polite and professional, taking the time to explain how the new solar system worked and answering my many questions. The office staff kept me informed of lead times without me having to chase. I would highly recommend.

Very happy with the powerwall install and the service leading to it.
The planners and surveyors were happy to discuss options that suited our needs.

Having had poor experiences with other renewables companies, AJ Taylor have been a breath of fresh air to work with.
We had an existing solar array, and have had an additional 10KW system along with three tesla powerwalls supplied and installed by AJT, as well as install and commission of aircon units. AJT have, from the outset have been happy to work WITH me (which was a critical requirement of a renewables company) to install into a fairly bespoke setup. Mickey, Aaron and the installation teams have been brilliant both in initial install, and for follow up work, giving honest and simple advice.
The office occasionally needs a nudge, but I suspect that's because they're busy and my requests aren't always the simplest! That said, I've already given a few direct word of mouth recommendations for them, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend again.

No disturbance from start to finish, great planning, after sales support, and very flexible.

A J Taylor fitted my solar PV system about 9 years ago. They did an excellent job then and continued to provide superb support since. I recently had an inverter fail which they solved extremely promptly. They are a great team of people and seem to offer very professional support throughout. I would strongly recommend them for any electrical task.

A.J. Taylor installed a fire alarm system for my flats a couple of years ago and I was very impressed by their competence and helpfulness, particularly that of Ashley Wood, who was so patient with me.Last week I called for advice on a minor issue (which turned out not to be an issue at all) and they managed to send Jake before the Bank Holiday. He explained the problem , and reassured my tenant and me. She said he was very sweet.

We wanted to upgrade our outside security lighting but wasn’t sure what to do.
So we called A J Taylor Electrical for advice.
3 days later the manager Anthony attended our property and was really helpful and professional and came up with several different options.
A week later Joe the engineer turned up and carried out the works.
We are now very satisfied with all the works carried out and the advice given.
We would definitely use this very helpful company again.

Ben and Jake did a brilliant job relocating a fire panel and alarm at the Brighton Table Tennis Club. Excellent work ethic and manner on the job.

We wanted solar panels and a Powerwall battery installed on our property. AJ Taylor are shown as being accredited by Tesla and so we asked for a quotation, which took a while to obtain. Their Project Manager had provided a very detailed specification, and talking to him gave us confidence in their competance to undertake the required work. Demand and supply issues with the equipment caused the inevitable delays, but we were kept informed at regular intervals. The two stages of the installation went smoothly and the teams involved were very professional thoughout the entire process. The results have exceeded our expectations and we would be happy to recommend them to anyone considering this type of project.

I’ve used AJ Taylors a few times and they’re consistently good. Yesterday we had Aaron change the lighting in the bathrooms and install smart controllers on the fans and he was great. He understood the goal and figured out how to make it all work together. Very friendly and helpful.
