I bought a picture claiming to be high resolution but is just an upscale. after working on filters you could see someone just took a picture with his camera of some other copy. the reflection becomes clear after increasing brightness. a scam! now i understand they don’t refund

A follow up on an experience I had with Alamy. It would seem as though this is a repeated scam they perpetrate : marketing an image as high resolution when in reality it is very low quality. I complained and they refused to give a refund even after multiple emails. Fortunately I had paid through paypal and opened a dispute. After a little wait I successfully received a refund. Best route to go if you are one of the many people who have had the same problem.

Alamy seems to be organized fraud. I purchased a photo in high resolution that should be 7,1 MB according to description. When downloading I get 378 KB as maximum resolution.

Une arnaque complète ce site qui vend à 18€ des images qui font partie du domaine publique et donc gratuite et sans restriction d'usage.

Be careful. Scam artists.
They are in business of claiming any pics you have on website. Bunch of losers trying it on

Nei siti vivai sono tutte esaurite , dopo ore di ricerca non capisco cosa mi è successo ... vedo disponibile una e non mi aggorgo che è una foto, faccio l'acquisto . solo dopo la mail di Alamy mi aggorgo che è una foto .Scrivo cosa è accaduto gli dico di disdire l'ordine ,il tutto in una ora o due ,mi rispondono che non possono farlo .
Gli dico che questo non è professionale ..
Questa mancanza di serietà mi fa pensare che sono degli imbroglioni...

Follow up from a previous review. Alamy tried to move out of the local jurisdiction and avoid out consumer protection laws, when pushed on this they firstly tried to reduce the "fee" and have gone very quiet since.

Bought a 'stock image' of Avatar (from the first movie). It was automatically downloaded as a compressed JPEG file even when I hit the 'high res' option. There was no option to download the supposedly high res 5.8MB file. I contacted customer service and they suggested I used photoshop to 'blow up' the compressed file as a TIFF. Then I told them this was crap, and they gave me some BS about 'protecting the distributor/creator'. What??!! This is a fraudulent company and should be brought to the attention of the OFT etc. I'm going to do exactly that!

Get rid of the stupid watermarks! I'm not paying for a fncking image!

je cherche des décalcomanies pour maquette, je commande et quand je ne les reçois pas, je demande le remboursement et la on me dit que c'est vertuel et que l'on ne rembourse pas, site malhonnête à éviter

Very poor service. We have have spent a small fortune with them business wise which I’ve now abruptly ended. However, on this occasion I purchased one photo personally for a hobby. The quality was sub par. I asked for a refund and was hit with a barrage of excuses and T’s & C’s which did not justify the reason for not refunding. They stated the photo in question had a disclaimer saying that it was historic and may contain imperfections. There are NO imperfections, the entire photo is of poor quality overall and not useable. Not 300dpi quality as expected.

Ho acquistato per sbaglio una foto con una scatola di cioccolatini pensando che sono i cioccolatini.
Li ho scritti un mail che ho fatto un sbaglio e l'oro dopo e 10 giorni hanno mandato un mail che non posso ridarmi soldi.

The worst and most overpriced stock photo agency on the market. Their licences are not straightforward (on purpose) at all. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I purchased an image from the Alamy site, which they sell as HQ. Once downloaded, it turned out to be of very poor quality, truly embarrassing. There are dozens of reproductions of the same image (a XVIII century paiting) online, downloadable for free, of much better quality. If I pay €11.39 for a single photo I obviously expect it to be of high quality, as advertised by the site. I wrote to customer service several times but they replied that they don't refund. A shameful experience. Avoid them.

Alamy is a scam. They don't own the rights to the photos they sell. Most are public domain. Yet they try to get those same photos taken down around the internet. It's not just a scam, it's a malicious grifter operation 100% designed to swindle people out of their money.

zu strenge Bewertungen. Topbilder von Profikameras werden bei kleinsten, f.d. Photografen nicht erkennbare Bilder, die mehrfach in Publikationen veröffentlicht wurden, zurückgewiesen. Unbrauchbare Datenbank.

ALAMY es una mala solución para adquirir imagenes. Pagas la imagen y luego hay problemas para descargarla. Haces la reclamación y te ponen pretextos. Finalmente terminan diciéndote que no te devolveran el importe pagado. Lamentable web. Cero recomendable y nulo servicio de atención al cliente.
