I ordered 2 dresses from Amara London that arrived 01/04. The quality was dreadful and the fit appalling. Since this date I have tried to secure a refund but have been stonewalled at each step. There was a reluctance to agree to this with various offers of a partial refund up to 25% to keep the items. I paid c. £20 postage to return them 03/04/25 and since this date I have been advised customs is the reason a refund has still not been made. The amount due is c. £70. Based on my experience I strongly recommend not using Amara London.

AVOID PURCHASING FROM AMARA!!!
I placed an order worth £££ on 27/04/2025. On the same day I received an email letting me know that the order has been cancelled stating reasons given below in the email. There were no reasons given in the email! I have just spoken to customer services and they informed me initially that the item is lost in their warehouse! This sounds unbelievable! An item lost in their own warehouse? You do wonder how this could happen! After querying further with the customer services person I was talking to, she revealed that there is a stock issue with this item. So AMARA put on their website an item for sale which they do not have stock of. They make you purchase that item (parting with your money) and then they subsequently send you an email to let you know that the item is cancelled and you need to wait 10 days for your refund! This is daylight robbery!
If only I read the reviews before making this purchase. I had based my current purchase on my experience with Amara years ago when they were brilliant! What happened to them?!
To anyone out there reading this it is IMPOSSIBLE to get their customer service telephone number from their website. It was only after searching each option in the 'Contact us' tab that I finally got a telephone number. It is of course a deliberate action to hide their telephone number so that you cannot call them. For those of you who need it, it is 020 45380427.
They'll probably change it now that I have made this public!

I ordered two robes for Amara at 82£ ea, one robe was sent. Amara insists they sent two robes even though I sent them a picture of the shipping label showing a weight of 1.5kg and the weight of one robe at 1.4 kg. They refuse to admit there was a shipping error and I am out 82£. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. Avoid this company they will steal your money!!!!

Faulty product, terrible customer service â avoid
I ordered a pair of shoes from Amara London for £39.95 (on sale, previously listed £99!!). When they arrived, they were creased, marked, had a strong odour, and didnât fit properly. Packaged in a plastic bag. I contacted customer service immediately to request a full refund.
Despite the product clearly being faulty and not as described, the company refused to cover return postageâinsisting I ship them back to China at my own expense, which is completely against UK consumer law. They instead offered partial refunds (starting at 15%, later 25%) and ignored my legal right to a full refund.
To make things worse, the product page on their website advertises a â45-day money-back guaranteeâ, which they clearly donât honour. Their entire refund process is designed to discourage returns and wear customers down.
After multiple emails and failed attempts to resolve this directly, Iâve now had to initiate a chargeback through my bank and report them to Trading Standards via Citizens Advice.
Would strongly advise others to avoid this company.

When it arrived it was 95% polyester and 5% elastane and looked nothing like I had ordered.They have offered 25% refund or pay to send it back to China, which if it was my error I could understand, Total false advertising. Quality is shockingly bad
Quality is shockingly bad, and sizes are very small. Also clothes stunk of fish when they arrived! Be warned - if you want to make a return, it has to been sent to Asia and at your own cost, and down to you to prove agent in Asia has received it. Will never use this site again

Refused to honour my £20 voucher as they say it was issued B4 they acquired AMARA. Joking surely as no notice of them havING acquired AMARA or the effect that would have on gift vouchers, WAS EVER GIVEN. Also received broken glasses! Returned towel on 10 March via POST IT locker. Tracking shows Amara has the return. Yet 2nd April still waiting for refund despite emails and callsâŠnot superb customer service agent seems to think their failure of a return system is my problemâŠtold me staff took it out the locker and moved etc etc âŠ.erm apologise and refund me wth. I have been forced to make an official complaint and will likely NEVER shop with Amara again as flannels acquisition of it has RUINED IT COMPLETELY.

Mix up with returning an item but it all got sorted
I returned a product that was not needed. Despite returning it in October, I realised that I had not been refunded in February when I received an email from Amara saying that they had just received the item and it was outside the returns window so I could not be refunded! I was fuming. The first person I spoke to was not at all helpful and it was a bit 'computer says no' but when I escalated my complaint I received five star service and an immediate solution. Melody, who dealt with his particular issue, was so polite and just really excellent in every way. So what started out as a one star experience was very quickly transformed into a five star experience. Thank you Melody for looking after me. x
Unbelievably poor customer service
Unbelievably poor customer service. Please don't use this company. Once they have your money, you are left hanging. I wish I had checked the reviews before I made a considerable investment only to be ripped off and ignored. Just buy elsewhere, all the stuff can be bought on other sites easily with much better service.

Dreadful customer service - leaves you out of pocket!
I wouldn't normally write a review but have been driven to it due to such poor customer service. Purchased a 5lt Boabab diffuser and it came with no scent or sticks. Company refused to help, rude customer service. Then received someone slightly more helpful - but again told nothing they could do it must be the delivery companies fault. Repurchased the item AGAIN and it came with no scent and no sticks. £1,000 two lots of delivery charges and no customer support at all. I would NOT use this company. Dreadful customer service.

Never use this company. My work colleagues bought me a gift from Amara to celebrate 37 years service, which when it was delivered, had been poorly packaged. I followed every process to the letter to return the item. They are now saying they have not received the item and it is my responsibility and in effect there is nothing more they can do. As you look through the reviews you can clearly see they have a problem with returns. I've even found one review where the same brand of item as the one I returned has gone missing in exactly the same way. What would have been a lovely ending to my career has turned into a shambolic mess, and they are just not prepared to do anything to help. BUYER BEWARE !!!!

The most horrendous useless customerâŠ
The most horrendous useless customer service. I ordered 2 x soap dispensers (as part of a much larger order). These turned out to be faulty as the soap corroded the metal nozzle so Amara promised me a refund as these were not fit for purpose. I chased this refund several times and various different customer service reps kept fobbing me off, telling me it had been âprocessed back to the original payment methodâ which it wasnât. I have been chasing this refund for over 18 months and now Amara claim to not recognise my order number (despite me sending a PDF copy of the order confirmation) and they state they can no longer help me. Please please proceed with caution before buying from this supposedly âluxury goodsâ company. They give you the run around having to deal with numerous customer support reps when you have a problem, and none of them know how to read the historical chain of emails, so I have ended up repeating myself giving the same information over 20 times. They keep repeating the same useless questions instead of bothering to read replies and when enough time elapses, they claim they can no longer help. Appalling.

This brand used to be a luxury brand. Now they just apparently mail people half an order worth of damaged goods, with the high price tag that goes with it, and then the customer service is so awful that after 2 weeks of back and forth with customer service agents who are not even acknowledging previous emails sent and worse than an AI chatbot, they still haven't enabled the processing of a return of all the broken things they sent. Having been a customer since 2019 this is really disappointing.

ZERO STARS! Terrible customer service. I have been buying from Amara for many years and have always been impressed by the care that was taken over packaging items as well as being able to contact customer services directly if ever there was an issue (and dealt with quickly). How things have changed. They've been taken over by the giant Fraser Group and it shows. My main issue (amongst many) is their terrible returns. I went, as recommended by them, via their returns portal. I had to pay a £4.99 fee and use their courier, Evri (which in my experience is not great anyway so would not be my courier of choice). I dropped the package off at the their suggested drop off point and a few days later I get a confirmation email directly from Amara that the parcel is on its way back to them. Great!...or not. There was no further update a few weeks later so I thought it would be no problem to contact them. YOU CANNOT contact them directly. There is no number, no email etc listed clearly ANYWHERE - nowhere you can go to resolve an issue. There is a list of typical faqs which takes you around in circles or doesn't give you option you need. In the end I had to try various different options (FYI- try payment problems) which allowed me to send an email (clearly, if you are having issues sending THEM money then they are happy to help). Surprisingly someone got back to me. I provided all the evidence they wanted - screenshots of confirmation of my portal return, the confirmation from them that the package was in transit to them and the receipt from the drop off point. The receipt shows the barcode number which clearly matches the barcode on the returns label that was sent to me via their portal. Amara customer services are now saying that the warehouse has never received my package and that because I didn't use their portal that they can't help me and that I need to contact 'my courier company' directly. Case closed. UNBELIEVABLE.
I did not instruct Evri, Amara did. I cannot speak to someone as it's their account. So, not only am I down my return fee having used their portal as they suggested, I am also down my the value of my returned goods (which FYI were being returned because the quality was terrible) and, despite providing all the evidence required, am basically being told that none of it makes any difference anyway and they are unwilling to help or take responsibility. If only I had looked at all the recent reviews. Same story with so many people. Clearly I won't be ordering from them again.
