I recently purchased a laptop on Amazon, but unfortunately the package was lost during delivery.
What’s most disappointing is that there was no clear protection or support provided for situations like this. The whole experience has been frustrating, especially given the lack of accountability and resolution. I expected a much higher level of service and reliability. This has seriously affected my trust, and I hope improvements are made to better protect customers in the future.

Come to Australia, with its proverbial professionalism, attention to detail and quality of service, great care and respect for customers, and I have had multiple incidents in less than a single year! Items are tossed together in a much larger box with no padding whatsoever (I supposed a bit of scrunched up paper would break the bank for poor Amazon...) and, quite obviously, they arrive damaged. I raised this issue with customer support and they even make a fool of you telling you it won't happen again! Sure! And it keeps happening... Also, next-day deliveries are often delayed, and it's not like I live in the outback! If that's what you get for being a loyal Amazon customer and Amazon Prime member, then I'll be shopping elsewhere from now! Well done Amazon AUSTRALIA! 👏👏👏

I've been a customer for a few years. I don't understand why customer service are so incapable of adding notes to your account. I have requested no deliveries after 5pm. Yet I still get them, thrown at the front door, blocking my door etc etc. I've contacted them probably over 20x and it still happens.
How difficult is it? Can drivers not read?
I honestly don't know why I'm still a customer at this point.
Asking me for a "date if experience" is laughable. It's every time I place an order.
I do not recommend Amazon.
AMAZONs refusal to refund for product not delivered
I purchased a new car part from Amazons website. The seller attempted to send me an empty envelope and claim the product was delivered. In the sellers attempt to scam me they accidentally addressed the blank envelope wrong and admitted in messages to me that they had made that mistake and would send the item again. The seller then didn't resend anything and went silent. They didn't know that in a small town mail gets directed to its proper address if its its a correct name but wrong street number which is why i managed to receive the empty envelope scam attempt. I let 8 Amazon customer service representatives know these facts and I requested a refund that was supported with written evidence from the sellers scam attempt. Amzon has now refused to issue me with a refund on 10 different enquiry occasions stating that because it was from a third party seller they were refusing to refund me for a $231.54 product that was never delivered. Amazon now tries to send me backwards and forwards between different so called "resolution teams" in order to delay me and get me to go away. Its been 2.5 weeks of this blatant attempt to break Australian Retail consumer law. Disgusting
Be careful before opening a seller account
Closing an Amazon Seller account is a frustrating and painful process. The whole procedure feels unnecessarily delayed, and it often seems like it’s done so they can continue charging you monthly fees.
There is no direct email option to communicate with support; the only available option is chat. The call request feature never works, so you are forced to rely on chat support.
Even then, the support agents ask you to upload sensitive documents like your passport and bank details again just to proceed with closing the account, which feels excessive and inconvenient.
I also requested the chat agent to send me a copy of the chat via email, but they never sent it, which adds to the lack of transparency and trust.
Overall, the experience is stressful and time-consuming. Be careful before opening a seller account, as closing it can be much harder than expected. They may even try to push you to keep or reactivate your account instead of helping you close it.

We have had the best experience with good prices, great choices and fast delivery, either same day or overnight. Some of the savings compared to retail stores, are beyond belief. We will continue to always compare prices as we believe Amazon have the best deals.

No longer the quality provider as it used to be. Deliveries are appalling, customer service provides lot's of excuses and promises but no solution and they product's are much more expensive than some other similar online shops.

Don't send an item despite availability
I have for many months ordered 2/30 pack Pepsi Max soft drinks and last month they only sent one with the description that the second box had been " delayed". However, on the same day that it was suppose to arrive I could still purchase the item and have it delivered the NEXT day. My account still shows " delayed". No the fact is that Pepsi has gone up in price. How about honesty? Or sent me an update. Why send 1 at the subscription price but not the second one. Sadly companies like this work on volume and not customer service. This is not a fake review and Amazon needs to lift it game but sadly that won't happen.
How hard is it to drive a delivery…
How hard is it to drive a delivery vehicle, read simple address labels and deliver orders correctly???? Apparently it’s consistently an impossible task for the incompetent people that Amazon employs. I run a business and I have clear signage on my driveway that orders are to be taken to the front single entrance gate. Despite this they not only enter my property which is a bed and breakfast in that area, but they deliver parcels not even addressed to this property. Useless.

I received a package the box was empty no products inside box was half taped with clear tape and I sent Amazon pictures and a comment that they not approved according to the Amazon company I sent Negative comments they asked me to fix the comments they didn’t like what I wrote
Amazon failed to supply
Bought soft drink on Amazon on February 6. Today is March 16 and still no advice from Amazon about the order. No tracking number..Nothing. It is misleading and deceptive to offer something that you are unable to supply.

It's disgusting that the only way to contact Amazon is to give a one star review on a third party site. I can't contact via your app as I don't have a subscription... and yet I'm still being charged $10 a month. There is no way I can find to stop this! Shame amazon and poorly done ACCC for not stopping this as I'm sure I'm not the only person to have this experience.

On 20 Feb 2026 I purchased a Garmin HRM 600 (M-XL) sold by Amazon AU for $277.26. The delivery was originally expected on 22 Feb, but shortly after the purchase the product was completely removed from the Amazon website and the delivery date changed to 27 March.
I spent over 1 hour and 20 minutes in live chat, being transferred between multiple agents and supervisors, with several chats disconnecting due to “technical issues”. Each time I had to explain the entire situation again.
Eventually a supervisor confirmed that the product was removed from the website and they cannot guarantee that the order will ever be fulfilled.
The frustrating part is that I purchased an Amazon gift card via the Qantas website specifically to buy this item. Now that Amazon removed the listing after my order was placed, I am left with an Amazon balance I didn’t intend to use for anything else.
The same product is still available at retailers like JB Hi-Fi, but because of this situation I would effectively need to spend my money twice to buy the same item elsewhere.
This issue was not caused by the customer, yet after more than 1 hour and 20 minutes with support, the only solution offered was to cancel the order.
Very disappointing handling of a simple issue.
Don't shop with Amazon
Don't shop with Amazon! They don't refund you for faulty products. Their courier companies don't collect organised returns.
Amazon leadership needs a complete overhaul - I have been waiting since February for a REFUND of my faulty monitor stand - 3 failed pick ups and they want me to organise a new one!? No one bothers attending. Their courier companies - Parcel Point and Aramex all use contractors - so they have 1 contractor who brings their FRIENDS along (who by the way, are NOT EMPLOYED by Parcel Point and Aramex) .. the friends are then shared YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION and will pick up the parcels instead.
Paying Return Postage of Rubbish Product
I recently purchased a faulty item from Amazon, (Tool Post Mini Vertical Slide (90 x 50 mm) For Instant Milling Operation On Lathe Machine Brand: OMEX) and commenced the return process only to find Amazon claim I purchased from a 3rd party seller, I disagree and that I have to pay return postage and try an seek reimbursement after the fact. This is an inconvenience and involves risk. I'll be shutting down my Amazon account, I suggest you do the same.
No more books from Amazon
I ordered a beautiful book on the US Naval history from Amazon which was subsequently trashed during the delivery process. No padding inside the box so the spine was torn away from the book. I paid almost $94 for this new book but disgusted at how Amazon treats sold items so carelessly. I've had this happen before with Amazon book deliveries, but i can't be bothered returning yet another book to Amazon for a refund. I'll try and repair it as best I can. No more books from Amazon.
Amazon Australia – Doing More Harm Than Good
Honestly, Amazon might be better off shutting down in Australia, because at this point it seems to be doing more damage to its reputation than good.
I placed an order for a small package, expecting a straightforward delivery. Instead, there were four so-called “delivery attempts.” The order was ultimately returned because it was supposedly “undeliverable.”
What makes this unacceptable is that four different delivery drivers contacted us directly. Each of them received clear instructions on how and where to deliver the package. Despite this, they decided it was “too much effort” and chose not to complete the delivery. The problem was not access, not communication, and not availability — it was simply a lack of willingness to do the job.
After the order was returned, I contacted customer service. I was offered compensation for the inconvenience and was promised that if I reordered the same item, it would definitely be delivered properly this time. I was extremely hesitant, but I trusted the promise that was made to me. Based on that guarantee, I placed the exact same order again.
Now, two weeks after the original order date and ten delivery attempts later, I still have not received my package. To make matters worse, I am not even allowed to request a refund until March 6.
In the meantime, I have spent more than three hours of my valuable time chasing Amazon for answers. Every time I contacted customer service, I was transferred at least five times. Each new representative had to “review the case” from scratch. Every single person gave me a different explanation and a different solution. Repeated promises were made:
“I guarantee it will be delivered tomorrow.”
“We will provide compensation for the inconvenience.”
None of those promises were kept. No delivery. No compensation. No accountability.
It feels like customer service is more focused on protecting the company than on actually solving the issue. Being given inaccurate explanations while I had already spoken directly to the drivers only added to the frustration.
This entire experience has been exhausting and unacceptable. I will never order from Amazon Australia again. If you value your time and want to avoid frustration, wasted hours, and empty promises, I strongly recommend considering other retailers.
Poor quality service and expensive products
I have a firefox for TV and needed new remote. What a hassle. I have 2 different accounts so when Amazon rang to supposedly assist, they wouldn't talk to me because I was not the account holding where remote was bought from. One of their employees even hung up on me and I was never rude or yelling. Remote came, but it was not working, so they said don't bother returning, but then sent me a return. So, 2nd remote comes and I have issues again. I had to keep cancelling, asking for refunds, before finally remote arrived and instead of me ringing for help because if you do that, they are usually rude and unhelpful, I worked it out myself. Lastly products on here are way more expensive than elsewhere and products can take months to arrive. Amazon Australia is just as bad as the US (like I said I have 2 accounts because I am an author).
