Thank you for the feedback, and we're genuinely sorry your visa appointment was impacted, we know how stressful that rescheduling process is.

We'd like to respectfully add some context for anyone reading. Your order was a Federal Apostille for an FBI background check, which is issued exclusively by the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC. As disclosed in writing on March 16 before you approved the option, federal apostilles take 7–9 business days to process and cannot be expedited by any service provider, this is a government processing window entirely outside our control. Shipping time is separate from processing time, which is also disclosed at intake.
Your timeline:

Mar 17 - Payment received, document dispatched to USDOS
Mar 31 - Completed by USDOS; FedEx overnight tracking sent to you the same day
Apr 3 - Delivered to your address

We shipped overnight the moment it was back in our hands. At no point did your document sit with us.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand your concern, and we believe this is a misunderstanding of how apostille processing works, not a failure in our process.

An apostille is a government-issued certificate under the Hague Convention that authenticates the signature and seal of the certifying official. It does not verify the content or authenticity of the underlying document with the issuing institution. No apostille provider, government or private, contacts universities or other institutions to confirm whether a document is genuine before processing. This is standard worldwide and falls entirely outside the scope of apostille services.

Your order was processed using the True Copy method, which is how most apostille orders are handled. Under this method, a certified notary prepares a custodial certificate, and the Secretary of State apostilles that certificate. The apostille is issued by the state where the notary is commissioned, which may differ from the state that originally issued the document, this is normal and fully accepted under the Hague Convention.

If your receiving authority requires the apostille to be issued by the same state that originally issued the document, we would be happy to reprocess your order under Original Protocol at no additional document fee. You would only need to ship the original document, and we will route it to the correct Secretary of State.
