Started taking my driving lessons around January 2026 i had an instructor called Shakil. Honestly he is one of the best instructors out there. I was very nervous starting off, he was very calm explained everything to me and provided me with alot of encouragment throughout my lessons. Very reliable. Honestly i would 100% recommend him for anyone in the area.

Brilliant Instructor and reliable company!
I started lessons with Astra a couple months back when my old driving instructor who I had only a few lessons with quit. There was no one that would fit me in but then I rang Astra.
Conveniently, one of the instructors Dean picked up and said he will fit me in his schedule and I started weekly to fortnightly lessons with him which elevated my driving immensely. I went from a decent level with a bit of experience to above test standard in a short period of time and passed my test, all thanks to Dean!
Dean was a brilliant and friendly instructor who gave thorough and in depth advice on all the things I needed to learn, and I wouldnât have passed without him. Thanks to Dean I went to my test with full confidence that I was a high level and safe driver who ticked all the boxes to pass - and I did!
At first I went around Bredbury with Dean and learnt the roads there thanks to his great teaching advice. However, the only test I could secure was in Macclesfield but luckily Dean managed to take me around Macclesfield, which was a tricky test centre, but thanks to his great teaching style he gave me full confidence that I could take my test there and he helped me with all the things I needed to do, as well as how to be a safe and complete driver.
I really looked forward to all my driving lessons with Dean, heâs such a nice guy who was so pleased for me when I passed and that meant a lot to me. He has a great and friendly personality that definitely helped me learn. We would exchange good conversations and that really helped ease any stress of learning to drive. Furthermore, he believed in me all the way and his positive attitude elevated my confidence in myself and I made progress every week and I also found it reassuring that he believed in my driving ability. I think having a good relationship with your instructor is very important and useful so I will definitely miss my driving lessons with Dean!
Thanks to Dean I now feel fully confident on the road and I learnt a massive amount of useful knowledge, as well as securing an easy driving test pass. The extra knowledge I learnt beyond just the basics of the driving test is invaluable and definitely going to ensure Iâm safe driving now Iâve passed.
Dean was a very reliable and brilliant instructor who I would very much recommend to learners of any ability.
