I filled in Autumna's enquiry form on line and got a response within minutes. They provided a list of six care homes in our area. I contacted two, one was full and was for dementia patients only but the other had a vacancy and we arranged a visit.

All the relevant information was in one place and easily accessible. Using the contact details I received responses and arranged visits quickly to suit me and my patents. The support and follow up, after my initial enquiry. Was very good and helpful.

Autumna listened to me and my requirements and came up with good suggestions. Friendly follow-ups offered further help.

Excellent independent source of advice - they cannot solve all your problems as the area of residential/ nursing care and social care in general is a mess - but they can help you navigate it. My mother into one of the homes that they made me aware of. I'd seen some on their list and been unimpressed but did not know about this one and they've been brilliant with my mother (who can be quite challenging). Thanks.

When a relative needed help there seemed to be so many companies to look at. By using Autumna, they quickly provided a shortlist, in our area, offering hourly rates. I considered 4 of the companies online, leading to meeting 2 of them. Our favourite was appointed in just a week.

I searched for care homes in my locality and was pleasantly surprised by tge amount of detail provided for each care home together with a short list which was particularly useful in view of tge number of homes in the full list.

I was looking for help in finding a Care Home and I used Autumna. They responded quickly to my enquiry. Looking for a Care Home is a difficult process and one that needs to be taken slowly and carefully. Autumna were helpful but not at all pushy. I am not at all certain now what radius/distance I selected. Not all the suggested Homes were suitable because of this - so think about how far you are prepared to travel to see your loved one - there and back. 10-15 miles may not seem much but when you double it to get back home - that's a fair distance and time. We learn as we go along - check out the status: residential or nursing, nhs funded, weekly costs, whether they require a deposit, a set monthly "allowance" for extras costs (hair, chiropody etc..). Talk to people you know, they may be able to recommend a Care Home - or the reverse.
