Esperienza molto negativa.
Ho noleggiato un’auto presso l’aeroporto di Praga e l’ho restituita regolarmente e nei tempi previsti. Dopo alcuni giorni mi è stato addebitato un importo di 260 € per un giorno extra che non ho mai effettuato.

Contattando l’ufficio in aeroporto, mi è stato confermato che si trattava di un errore del sistema e che la pratica era stata inoltrata al servizio clienti.

Nonostante diversi solleciti via email, dopo oltre due mesi non ho ricevuto alcuna risposta concreta, solo messaggi automatici, e il rimborso non è mai stato effettuato.

Servizio clienti inesistente e gestione del problema molto deludente. Sconsiglio assolutamente di noleggiare un'auto da loro.

Pronajali jsem si auto na letišti v Praze a vrátili jsem ho včas a bez problémů. O několik dní později nám ale bylo účtováno 260 € za jeden den navíc, který jsme nikdy nevyužili.

Po kontaktování pobočky na letišti nám bylo potvrzeno, že se jednalo o chybu systému a že případ byl předán zákaznickému servisu.

I přes opakované e-maily jsme po více než dvou měsících neobdrželi žádnou konkrétní odpověď, pouze automatické zprávy, a peníze nám nebyly vráceny.

Velmi špatná komunikace a nulové řešení problému. Nedoporučuji pronájem auta od Avis.

Habe ein Auto gemietet in Phuket, Oberklasse P. Erhalten habe ich ein uraltes, verbeultes Auto. Licht ging kaum, Stossdämpfer waren keine da oder nicht funktional, Bremsen waren eher dürftig. Eine unmittelbare Reklamation blieb ohne Echo. Nach den Ferien nochmals reklamiert, keine Reaktion. Erst nach einem Anruf wurden mir 20 Euro Gutschrift angeboten auf die nächste Miete (also weniger als 1%). Ich lach mich tot und werde in meinem Leben sicher nie mehr Avis mieten und auch all meinen bekannten abraten.
Daneben standen Autos der gleichen Klasse von SIXT, Europcar etc - die haben alle fast neue Auto gehabt...

J'ai loué un véhicule chez Avis Aéroport Genève pour un durée déterminée. Apres toutes les indications d'usages, je pose la question que si je ramenais la voiture un ou deux jours avant l'échéance est-ce qu'on pouvait déduire les jours non utilisés elle me répond que oui je la loue à 22h30 du coup retour à 22h30 je la ramène 1 jour avant à 19h00 à ma grande surprise la personne au comptoir me dit qu'il n'y aurait aucune déduction pourtant sa collègue m'avait assuré et prétendu le contraire et je précise que je travaille au sein de l'aéroport de surcroit
ils utilisent des techniques commerciales en vous caressant dans le sens du poil pour vous louer le véhicule même si le discours et faux sans s'inquiéter des répercussions financières. Quand j'ai reçu la facture le montant est différent de celui inscrit sur le contrat puis différent de celui qu'on vous prélève sur votre compte : de 330.- initialement ils prélèvent 352.- et quand on leur pose la question personne peut me dire pourquoi c'est tout simplement du vol

Never rent a car with Budget/Avis.

Rented via Booking a car for Georgia, that when delivered was very old, below the selected category and with both bumpers with tape holding parts. Car with more than 177K km and we had some issues going downhill with the brakes.

We complained to the company and after almost one month and more than 20 emails, they send you from one side to another, every time a different person reply to you and is the second time they request (15-30 days to investigate).

Purpose: that you desist in your complain.
Also after more than 3 weeks since we returned the car the deposit is blocked.

❌ My wife had a highly disappointing and unfair experience with AVIS Switzerland.

She returned her rental car at Basel EuroAirport on July 28, 2025. There was no AVIS staff present at the time. No inspection was performed, and no damage report or signature was requested.

Later the same day, AVIS charged CHF 258.17 to her credit card — claiming a “scratch on the rear right rim.”
⚠️ She was given no photos, no timestamped proof, and no chance to verify or contest the charge.

As a medical doctor and a responsible customer, she expected a transparent and fair process — not an arbitrary charge with no evidence.

We have filed official complaints with FRC, ECC Switzerland, and AVIS Global, and we are prepared to escalate legally if necessary.

⚠️ Advice to other travelers: Never return a car to AVIS Switzerland without a signed inspection report. Take your own photos. Protect yourself.

Obwohl das Auto in einem tadellosen Zustand um 06:30 Uhr morgens am Flughafen in Split zurückgegeben wurde, erhielt ich eine Kreditkartenbelastung über Euro 320.- für die Reparatur eines Unfallschadens. Auch auf mehrmalige Intervention erhielten wir bis heute weder eine Antwort um was für einen Schaden es sich handelte noch eine Kopie der Reparatur Arbeiten. Das ist Betrug und der Frust ist gross. Folglich: Nie mehr AVIS.

Customer service department is the worst I have ever seen. I had a problem with a car rental. I sent numerous emails which took them ages to answer, they sent links that didn't work and never answered any direct questions. We booked with Avis on the basis they would operate on a more professional level-sadly not.

Tankabzocke nach Abgabe!
Nach Rückgabe eines am Flughafen (vor der Öffnungszeit der Rückgabestation) vollgetankten Wagens, wurden mir 11,98 CHF (4,22 L) "Refuelling Charge" in Rechnung gestellt. Auf meine Mails reagiert Avis nicht und korrigiert trotz gemailten Tankbeleg auch nicht die Rechnung.
NIE WIEDER AVIS!

Absolute Frechheit und nie wieder.
Auto per Avis App reserviert und Bestätigung bekommen. Am Flughafen Belgrad standen vier Kunden vor mir die auch das Auto nicht kriegen, weil Avis keine Autos mehr zur Verfügung hat. Keine Alternative keine Hilfe kein Kompromiss. Absolut unverschämt für das AVIS Unternehmen. Schämt euch. Ein Stern ist auch zu viel. Finger weg.

Apsolutni bezobrazluk i nikad više.
Auto je rezervisan preko Avis aplikacije i dobio potvrdu. Na beogradskom aerodromu ispred mene su stajale četiri mušterije koje takođe nisu mogle da dobiju auto jer Avis više nije imao automobila na raspolaganju. Nema alternative, nema pomoći, nema kompromisa. Apsolutno nečuveno za kompaniju AVIS. Sram vas bilo. Jedna zvezda je previše.

Absolute cheek and never again.
Car reserved via Avis app and received confirmation. At Belgrade Airport, four customers stood in front of me who also couldn't get the car because Avis no longer had any cars available. No alternative, no help, no compromise. Absolutely outrageous for the AVIS company. Shame on you. One star is too many.

I have been an Avis Preferred customer for many years. I recently rented and prepaid a car through the Swiss site Avis.CH for a trip to MAllorca in 8 days time but then plans changed wished to cancel the contract ref 1739-8326-CH-1.

The Avis site states: " Convenient and flexible car hire.... When you book directly with us you get:
Our best price guaranteed.. Complete flexibility, free cancellations and changes."

Cancel a new or existing booking for free
Should you need to cancel a booking, your refund will be processed in full immediately and should reach your account within 5 working days.

Our flexible cancellation policy breaks down like this:

Free cancellation and full refunds on Pay Online (prepaid) bookings up to 48 hours before the day your rental was due to begin.....

"Any problems, call us on: 0808 284 0014 !" I could not get through to this number.

When I click on the URL CANCELLATION LINK it takes me back to the booking summary page without option to cancel.

I have literally spent hours trying to cancel this 1739-8326-CH-1 booking

This must be a joke....I called the pickup location to ask for rules about international driving license. Pickup location gave me phone number to reservation center. Reservation center heard my question and just told me to call the pickup location and hung up on me!!! This must be a joke....

Beim Ausleihen “verkauft” und berechnet Avis einen vollen Tank. Bei der Rueckgabe wird der Restinhalt nicht erstattet. Anfragen zu einer entsprechenden Kundeninformation für diese eigenartigen Praxis wurden nicht beantwortet. Nach dem Unterschreiben des Mietvertrags am Desk wird klar, dass die Mehrwertsteuer berechnet wird. Aus den Informationen im Bestellportal von Rentalcar.com war das nicht klar. Anfragen zur angebotenen Adresse der Schlichtungsstelle European Car Rental Conciliation Service (ECRCS) wurden nicht beantwortet.

Nach ca. 4x umleitungen an Kollegen und vielen missverständnissen habe ich aufgelegt. Ich wollte nur wissen, in welchen Ländern ich Vergünstigung habe, wenn ich von der Promotion meines Bankunternehmens profitieren will.
Aber nach 2x 30minuten in der warteschleife warten rufe ich lieber ein anderes unternehmen an.

Since the last two years, I am renting a car from AVIS Ruemlang, Zurich station and always happy with the quality of care and service at the station. The station Manager and the staff is user-friendly and cooperative.
They also have the quality of vehicles on the station I recommend to rent a car from Avis and from this specific station.
