The shoes arrived three days after I ordered; I live in NZ so that was a real plus. The shoes were of good quality - but the wrong size! Returning them for exchange was easy. I now await their replacement. Thus far a strong service recovery from a simple error. Shoes are great. I shall continue to buy from Barkers.

I was with Grenson up till recently and found the quality was lacking ie discovered the majority of their shoes are made in India and partly finished in UK! which is OK but quality suffers where as Barker have a different approach ie majority are made in UK and where they aren't they disclose openly where they are made.

Having lives in Earls Barton the homeâŠ
Having lives in Earls Barton the home of the Barjers shoes, l often bought these great traditional shoes. I have a wide foot and high instep. This often means going a half size larger to get the width. Thus means the toe is too long and trips me up.
Traditional midland shoe manufacturer, especially in Northampton, are the home English shoes, made with a high quality, if expensive. But once purchased, will stand the test of time and hold the quality hallmark, in there old age, made to be repaired, resolved and give years of faithful service.

Beautiful shoes but...........âŠ
Beautiful shoes and my husband has had them a while but the Barkerflex sole started to disintergrate. But I thought nothing of using the Refurbishment Service.
I purchased the service and sent them off to the Factory.
I then found I was receiving a refund! When I asked why I was extremely disappointed to find that these shoes could not be refurbished, apparently only certain types can. I was not aware of that so I wasted postage on returning them. Very disappointing.

I love the "Creative" collection, very original. The prices are fair given the quality. The search filters are well designed. I would like more models with Blake stitching. With my first purchases, I got small bonuses like a spare pair of laces. With my last pair, just a shoehorn. I recommend this brand, which offers very good value for money.

After a long decision, due to sizing, I carefully read their size charts and the Categories, like H G etc.. Just to confirm I asked their chatbot about sizing, giving it detailed measurement of my bare feet. It came back with size 9 H. Athlone. I ordered 2 in black and brown. I was extremely worried. Fast delivery 48 hours, tried them on (barefoot 10.5 inches, size 9 or 9.5. for comfort i ordered 9 H - a little wide). Very good quality, you can see it and feel it. Each shoe is indiviaully wrapped, and each pair contains a small card signed by the quality control agent. Perfect and comfortable to walk. Looks smart and suits my style. Pairs well with my Leather Jackets.
I higly recomment Barker, can't comment on their support, i did not use it. The important thing is you. You must understand your own meausrement. and make sure you size correctly before buying.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent shopping experience and the lack of support received.Before placing my order, I sent more than five requests asking for the specific centimeter measurements for each size, knowing that sizing varies significantly between brands. I never received a single reply to those inquiries. Instead, I was sent five different tracking numbers without any explanation.Faced with a total lack of communication, I had no choice but to order my usual size (Size 40). As I feared, the shoes arrived and fit way too large. A world-famous English shoe company like Barker should not be operating in such a flawed and defective manner. The Luton Black Calf
The Luton Black Calf 44.5 G are a perfect fit and exactly what I was looking for in a good quality 'black shoe' .
I have had issues with Barker shoes but this is no reflection on their Customer Service, which to be fair has always 'eventually' solved the issue. (Hence the reason I continue to be a customer)Their website is the best way of searching for a pair that suits. My only advice would be to know your foot size and width as many shoes vary with measurements according to the style and especially the width. Yes! It is a pain to send them back, but for the price you pay online I'm happy to be able to do so. When your paying £250+ for a decent pair of shoes, you need them to fit! You can always go to a shoe store that stocks Barker and try out the sizes there, to be sure when you order online, you have it right.
All in all I am happy with the choice of shoes & boots they offer and the ease to shop for them online.
I own four pairs now and two pairs are over five years old and still look good.
