Phrase Express over a decade

I have used Phrase Express for over ten years, and it is one of my critical programs. I would find it difficult to function without it. The program has evolved since I first started using it, and every change has been for the better. I follow them on YouTube to ensure I have the latest updates.
Finally, the support has been magnificent. I can't say enough about that as well.

Eine so fehlerhafte Software wie Macro Recorder ist uns noch nicht untergekommen. Die Flows müssen jedes Mal neu eingerichtet werden, weil einige Aktionen (immer andere) nicht funktionieren. Das Programm ist extrem unzuverlässig und für ernsthafte Anwendungen nicht zu gebrauchen.

Wir bieten eine kostenlose Demoversion, mit der alle Funktionen unverbindlich vor Kauf getestet werden können. Sie haben die Software getestet, gekauft und beschweren sich anschließend mit drastischsten Worten, ohne uns die Gelegenheit zu geben, die Situation zu verstehen und zu lösen. Schade.

Poor service, ignored emails, no refund.

Purchased their top version of Macro Recorder for 250 Euros, for the OpenAI feature. It didn't work. I emailed the company many times, including a link to a video demonstrating the issue. They watched the video (I received notification), but never replied. I consistently attempted to reach out, no response. I attempted to contact via their payment provider asking for a refund, and they said that Bartels Media GmbH declined. I used to be a fan of this company, but it looks as though they've simply given up on their own products. I would recommend you AVOID.

UPDATE: Following this review, the company reached out and actioned a refund, for which I have increased the review. They stated the messages must've gone to spam and blamed the configuration of my email program, but that wasn't the issue. I would suggest they use a ticketing system or non-email platform to avoid such issues. It was however a complete wasted effort; the purchase was made, the product didn't work, and after months, I got a refund.

If you encountered issues with receiving our replies due to email configuration, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please note that even with a ticket system, you might not have received status update emails with a misconfigured email system.

2. Macro Recorder has an interface to OpenAI – OpenAI changes the interface occasionally and Macro Recorder has been updated in the meantime to accomate these changes. Please try the latest update. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

3. As soon as you enabled us to communicate with you, we processed an instant refund within the same hour(!).

Can't Rave Enough about the Product & Support

I've been using PhraseExpress for years and rely on it dozens (if not hundreds) of times a day. I ran into an odd problem recently and their support was immediately responsive and offered me the perfect suggestions to troubleshoot and fix my issue.

I can't rave enough about both the product and the support.

Super Support und gute Software

Super Support und gute Software! Ich habe für die Arbeit ein paar Lizenzen erworben und bei der Einrichtung einige Fragen gehabt, die wurden alle binnen teils Minuten beantwortet. Zudem wurde der Parameter PORTABLEMULTIUSER für meinen Bedarf entwickelt, und das vergleichsweise schnell (< 1 Monat). Ich bin sehr zufrieden!

Phrase Express ist einfach ein tolles…

Phrase Express ist einfach ein tolles Tool, was uns im Unternehmen viel Arbeit abnimmt. Auf den ersten Blick könnte man meinen, dass es nicht billig ist...

Wir nutzen PhraseExpress nun seit mehr als drei Jahren im Unternehmen.

Aber die Zeitersparnis ist unglaublich. Dazu kommt, dass man Fehler in der Rechtschreibung bei schnellen Antworten in Mails sehr einfach reduzieren kann.

Ich bin gespannt wie sich nun Open AI entwickeln wird.

Lots to love about PhaseExpress

Have been using PhaseExpress for many years now and it is an indispensable tool on my laptop!
I had an issue with the license key but with the help of the support team, things got sorted out in a matter of a few hours!
Wonderful product and wonderful support!

Poor technical support

(I am Alex 302, registered on their forum.)
Poor technical support, no responses for some technical questions in emails, questions on the forum may be removed without any answer(for example, my suggestion about automatic bug reports, like in many other apps, btw without license you cannot register on the forum. Nonsense!). It is hard to get consultation before buying(I had some problems with demo version, and they did not give a clear answer about random disconnects).

Sharemouse works with license the most of time, but they do not want to help if you have a bug(problem, which is not covered by FAQ, which is more or less informative).
4/5 - app in general;
2/5 - price for the app with support like that;
2/5 - support;
-5/5 - refund policy;
0/5 - silent disconnects in demo(you can test 20-30 minutes). User cannot understand what happened - network/hardware issues or something else. Add nag screen or another notification. I bought a license and was not sure that the program would work as expected.

Too expensive for the app without technical support(especially if it is not used to make money). I talked with the developers of various paid programs. They even gave licenses for detecting problems and providing reqested information, without my request.

1. But why not to make beta forum public? Even on github - user can ask technical question, you can read and answer and close it, but anyone can read closed issue, and do not ask the same question many times, or can add new info to existing issue(not all users are noobs, and are able to detect patterns of some problems);
no one want to pay for access to beta testing forum(where he will be ignored:) );

2. My last questions - without replies. Ok, maybe support is not so bad, but ignoring is not good and not user friendly;

I did not see that notification. I saw notification when used DEMO options only(drag&drop or switching prevention).

5. This is why I suggested to add automatic bug reports. Many apps uses it. User just need to enable it and reproduce an issue(crash).

Tried to report two different bugs with collected logs, but they just removed my account from the forum. Every few days I need to restart Sharemouse on both devices. This is tired. Users are involuntary beta testers.
Bugs:
- crash on Macos big Sur(at least 2 times per month);
- program hang on Windows side(every week);
- sometimes clients do not see each other after wake up(every few days. I need to relaunch client on Windows side).

1. You are referring to our non(!)-public beta test forum. It is not our public support forum but restricted to customers and limited to report issues with the beta software. Indeed, we delete _off-topic_ content. The beta test is intentionally non-public at the first stage to collect quality feedback from existing users and may become public later when early version glitches have been resolved.

2. We happily answer thousands of sales and support inquiries at https://www.sharemouse.com/support/

3. The troubleshooting information contains step-by-step tutorial videos and everything(!) - we are aware of - to help users getting ShareMouse to run: https://www.sharemouse.com/doc/troubleshooting/ - This compendium is continuously reviewed and updated.

4. The trial version does not “silently disconnect” but issues a trial expiration notification. To restart the trial, simply restart ShareMouse.

5. ShareMouse depends on a working mix of multiple cross-platform computers in a potentially complex networking system, involving switches, routers, VPN, network bridges, etc. – Inspecting, analyzing and troubleshooting individual user’s computer and networking setups easily can take hours of a senior IT specialist and we regret to say that this is not feasible. In such cases we do not ask for details as it would lead to above what we cannot provide.

However, we offer a solution for this general challenge:

Everybody can test ShareMouse free and without any feature limitation BEFORE making a purchase. We clearly advertise that you should only purchase the software if you can confirm that you are happy with it. We believe that this is a fair offer.
