This was truly amazing trip!

Iceland is magnificent destination, there is not doubt about it!

Touring from the sea level to more than a 1000 meters altitude and skiing back, looking at the ocean all the time, hard to compete with that. And when the conditions are not suitable there is plenty to do!

What made this trip truly exceptional was our guide Ivo! After my luggage was delayed in London he did the impossible so that I don't lose even one ski day! Huge gratitude for that! And he did the best for us during the whole time - drone photos, heli ski, feedback on the ski techniques, you name it!

Really looking forward the next one.

As an American joining this group the Bulgarians were warm and welcoming, and I had a thoroughly enjoyable week. The weather was exceptional and the scenery was awe inspiring at every turn. I loved snowshoeing and being in the mountains with so much snow, far from everything. Going around the island to and from Troll Peninsula was packed with unique Icelandic sightseeing stops and I am not sure how we fit it all in. Great trip! Awesome guide! I would do it all again.

Just wrapped up an unforgettable six-day ski touring adventure in Iceland with Basecamp Tours, and I honestly couldn’t recommend them more highly! From start to finish, everything was incredibly well organized, allowing us to focus fully on the experience while they handled all the logistics seamlessly.

The landscapes were absolutely breathtaking —endless snow-covered peaks, dramatic fjords, and conditions that felt almost tailor-made for us. Every day brought something new and exciting, and the itinerary struck the perfect balance between challenge and enjoyment.

A huge part of what made this trip so special was our guides, Dimitar Dimitrov and Stanislav Radkov. Their professionalism, deep knowledge, and calm confidence made us feel completely safe in a dynamic environment. Beyond that, they were just fantastic people to spend time with—friendly, patient, and always tuned in to the group’s needs and energy levels. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone had the best possible experience.

This was easily one of the best trips I’ve ever taken, and I have already booked with them for another one.

My initial apprehension about booking Bulgarian based guides for a ski touring trip of Northern Iceland proved to be totally misplaced. Stan and the team from Basecamp Tours were incredible.

The team are highly qualified alpine guides and have extensive experience across Europe, Alaska, Canada, Japan and of course Iceland. Stan and Dimitar always made sure that we felt safe and found some incredible ski tours for us across the Troll Peninsula. They were able to pitch the daily tours to the perfect level for our group's ability/energy and were flexibly able to vary parts when blisters got the better of some of us at the end of the week.

They found us incredibly comfortable accommodation in Grenivik which was immediately on the fjord, facing the sunset, and which made end of day relaxation in the jacuzzi with a beer amazing. The accommodation was very well supplied which meant we could eat-in most evenings which was for us preferable to going out to restaurants.

We took a day off skiing and went to see lots of interesting places across the North of Iceland. Again, the guides were knowledgeable and eager to show us the region.

We arranged our trip as a private tour (we were 5 friends who tour together every year) but whether you on a private tour or one of their group tours I am confident you will have a fantastic time with Stan and Basecamp Tours.

Our guides, Stan and Dimitar, were simply excellent. We were a group of 5. They blended in as if they were long lost friends, listened to us, guided us and tour care of us. I would love to ski tour with them again. G and J

My first and third ski touring experiences with Maya and Stan were incredibly enjoyable and very well-organized. From the very beginning, I felt calm, cared for, and in safe hands, which truly allowed me to relax and enjoy the entire learning process.

Stan explains everything extremely clearly and patiently, creating a sense of confidence and support, and he manages to motivate in a very natural and unobtrusive way. Thanks to him, I learned a lot of new things and began to feel significantly more confident in my movements and decisions during touring.

During the outing itself, I was impressed by how well he assessed the situation and decided to adjust the route according to the conditions. This demonstrated high professionalism and responsibility, which made our experience even calmer, safer, and more enjoyable.

It was well organized trip in Japan. Accomodation and local transport was on point. We had different tours every day, carefully considered based on the current forecast and circumstances.
Both Ivo and Mitko are great, we made good memories and good friends!

In the winter of 2024, Basecamp Tours helped me fulfill a lifelong dream — backcountry skiing in Alaska. It was two unforgettable weeks that left a deep mark on me. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, with a gift for finding hidden gems and knowing exactly when to hit them. As anyone who’s been there knows, the Alaskan slopes are both breathtaking and unforgiving, so having someone who could strike the perfect balance between safety and adrenaline made the experience all the more extraordinary. I’m already planning to join their upcoming adventures in Japan and Canada in the years ahead.

Unique experience. The contrast between volcanic wasteland, green lush meadows with sheep and horses, all kind of waterfalls and the biggest glacier in Europe combined in one place.
I was pretty much out of my comfort zone but this will be something I won't forget.

Страхотно, различно и магнетично място! Имаш усещането, че си на друга планета. Красиви гледки и неповторима атмосфера те съпътстват през цялото време. Самото прекарване беше изключително добре организирано. В битов аспект, перфектно. Уникална къща на брега на океана, с една от най-зареждащите гледки, които съм виждала. Природата също беше благосклонна към нас и ни зарадва с прелести и разнообразие. А за водача ни, мога да кажа - идеален:) Освен, че познава добре мястото и имаше интересен и уникален план за всеки ден, се отнесе професионално и с отношение към всичките ни различния, нива на подготовка и възможности, така че всеки да получи максимално удовлетворение от пътуването. Препоръчвам!

Страхотен трип в приказна дестинация! Радостта започва още с гледката от самолета преди кацане, към морето от снежни върхове, които ще пускате! Благодарности към Basecamp tours, които ни потопиха в Севера, както си трябва, изживяхме втора Коледа през Май, със сняг на парцали, северни елени, всеки ден подбрани гледки от високо и ски до брега на фиордите, плюс бонус викингска романтика- смръзващ риболов и ледено къпане. Наистина си взехме, всичко което можеше от Сеня!

Перфектна организация и много интересна и интензивна програма.

Едно невероятно приключение в страната на водопадите и митичните тролове, изкачвайки всеки ден нов връх, от който да се разкрие поредната магическа гледка към океана и фьордите, да се пуснеш по заснежените склонове и сърцето ти да е пълно с положителни емоции и адреналин, а вечерта да се прибереш в уютна къща на брега на океана и да разпуснеш в джакузи с гореща минерална вода . Ако и вие искате да преживеете тази приказка, то Basecamp са вашите хора - професионализъм и приятелско отношение! Едно огромно благодаря! <3

Awesome ski touring week in Iceland.

What made it possible was the excellent preparation from the guide (Stanislav) each morning before heading out: weather conditions, snow condition, how the group is feeling for the day, etc.

I would recommend this trip to any backcountry fan out there. Its different and will reward you in unexpected ways. Amazing views all the time - from the mountains and from the house.
I'd say it was a bonding experience for our group, including the guide (Stan), who felt like a longtime friend. You live together, cook together, have fun and overcome the tricky terrain as group.
Stan is a balanced professional who will look, plan, lead, advice, help - always there at the background.
Had the "plan B" ready for the days where weather was not good or the snow felt unsafe.

I’ve been out with Basecamp tours on 3 occasions - twice to explore Bulgarian backcountry on skis and once on a ski adventure in Iceland. The guiding team is the best! Very knowledgeable and supportive as well as fun. I highly recommend basecamp tours to anyone who wants to explore off the beaten track adventures!
