Our Nepal trip was an incredible experience, and a big part of that goes to Base Camp Tours for their excellent planning and execution. The stays, transportation, and overall arrangements were handled very professionally, making the entire journey smooth and hassle-free.

A special thanks to Shiva brother, who did an outstanding job managing all operations and ensuring everything ran perfectly throughout the trip.

The absolute highlight of our journey was the Mardi Himal Trek. Our guide, Chandra Sir, was exceptional. He was understanding, knowledgeable, supportive, and made us feel comfortable every step of the way. His positive attitude and experience truly made the trek unforgettable. I would 100% recommend anyone planning a trek in Nepal to do it with Chandra Sir.

A special mention also goes to our porter, Dawa. Strong, dependable, and incredibly hardworking, he was the silent pillar of our trek. Without his support, the trek would not have been the same experience.

Our trek to Mardi Himal wasn’t just a trip—it felt like a turning point for us.

We’re from India, and this was our first time planning something like this on our own. Flights, stays, a completely new country—it was exciting, but also a bit overwhelming. While searching, we came across Base Camp Tours. We did speak to a few others—some cheaper—but these guys felt more reliable, more responsive, and just… right.

We had a lot of questions. And they never rushed us. They patiently guided us through everything—what to carry, what to skip, where to spend, where to save. At that point, Nepal had its own uncertainties, and we were honestly a little anxious going in without knowing anyone there. But their clarity and reassurance made all the difference.

We landed in Kathmandu, and the same night headed to Pokhara. That’s where we met Chandra—our guide—and Reman, our porter. From the first interaction, Chandra just felt dependable. He took us through gear rentals, but what stood out was how mindful he was of our budget. He didn’t push unnecessary things—only what truly mattered. He knew exactly what we should rent and what was worth buying, especially since we weren’t regular trekkers.

We had planned this trek around New Year’s. On the night before our summit, I made a last-minute request to Chandra for an anniversary cake for my girlfriend. No hesitation, no overthinking—he just made it happen. That small moment meant a lot more than I can explain.

The trek itself… tested us.

What’s considered an “easy” trek didn’t feel easy at all for us. Especially for my girlfriend. But Chandra and Reman were incredible through it all. They didn’t talk much—but somehow always said exactly what was needed. The kind of encouragement that comes at the right time, in the right way.

We were supposed to finish in five days—we did it in four. Not because we rushed, but because everything was so well planned and paced.

On the way down, things got really tough. Long hours, a painful blister from new shoes—it was a lot. And that’s where Chandra showed who he really is. He took care of her with so much patience and warmth, like she was his own. In some stretches, he even physically supported and carried her through. Not once did he make it feel like a burden.

At the same time, he knew exactly when to push us—just enough to keep us going, never too much.

Reman, quietly in the background, carried most of our load the entire time. Steady, strong, always there. You don’t always notice it immediately—but without him, this wouldn’t have been possible.

From warm, simple stays to comforting home-cooked Nepali meals after exhausting days—everything was taken care of in a way that felt genuine.

We came back tired, but happy. And more importantly, we came back feeling like we had been looked after.

Some trips are about the destination. This one, for us, will always be about the people—Chandra and Reman.

I booked the package for 17 nights and 18 days for Nepal Trip. Great experience overall and team planning, coordination, Transparency was simply superb. Drivers allocated special mention Ram Chandra was excellent. Covering all the planned toured items and sometimes more is great planning. Our trip in Nepal was organised by Basecamp travels from October 16th.to November 1st.Company has given good response to our requirements. Good accommodation was provided in all places except in Jomsom.

We have completed our Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra booked through Basecamp Tours ( Base Camp Tours Pvt Ltd.).The tour was scheduled on 3rd Sept,2025 as the reporting date at Kathmandu,Nepal and actual Yatra was slated to begin on 5th of Sept,2025. However on the pretext of non-availability of accommodation at Nyalam,Tibet (despite confirming our booking by way of payment of advance as early as 4th August, 2025) the Yatra started from Kathmandu on 6th Sept,2025 .
Facilities of lodging at different places en-route from and to Kathmandu and other arrangement wise the Yatra was total disappointment.
Everyday the start of the journey was considerably delayed resulting in late night arrival in next City.
At the time of booking it was assured that the entire group embarking on the Yatra under the Base Camp banner would consist of maximum of 37 Yatris. But in Nepal-China border our group was merged with 2 ( Two) other groups of other travel agencies/Tour Operator under the control of one Kathmandu Holidays and it became a group of 105 ( One Hundred and Five) Yatris. In other words after taking the bookings we were handedover/sold to Kathmandu Holidays by Basecamp Holidays. In the so merged group there were guides of other travel agencies but there was no one from Basecamp tours to look after the guests/Yatris of Basecamp Holidays. We were put at the mercy of the guides from these other groups.
After facing lots of difficulties in Chinese immigration centre we reached Hotel at Nyalam (our first stop in China) at just about before midnight on 6th September. Out of 105 guest some guests/Yatris were allotted rooms( Of course none from the Basecamp Tours had such privilege ) . 50 ( Fifty ) of us were accommodated in a dormitory. For the dormitory there were 4 common toilets. 2 for ladies,2 for gents. Gents toilets were fitted with half a door without any lock, i.e these could not be bolted from inside.
At Deraphuk 6 ( Six) of us were accommodated in a 5 bedded bed room. Despite repeated request we were not provided the 6th pair of pillow and blanket.
It was observed at Darchen and Yam Dwar from where the Parikrama started guides were more interested in arranging Porters, Horses, Rescue vehicle, Visit to Astapada hills at exorbitant prices fleecing the helpless Yatris.
What we have observed that smaller groups of around 40 guests were well managed and they did not face any problem as far as arrangement of accommodation is concerned in Tibet side.
We feel all our problems started when Basecamp Holidays handed us over/sold to Kathmandu Holidays without any intimation to us and without any guide/representative from Basecamp Holidays when we started our journey from Nepal to China.
However though we frown upon the management and Officials and Officers of Basecamp, the Cooks and helpers must be complemented for providing hot and freshly cooked food despite logistical problems, all done by them with hearty smile and gentle demeanour.

Hi,we went for Kailash Manas Sarovar trip arranged by Basecamp tours.
Mr Kapil and team were the one handling everything.
We went on September 3rd from Kathmandu.
There were 37 members, which increased to 105 members, as they bunched us with 2 other groups.
Then everything fell apart.
It was good till we were in Kathmandu.
Next wherever we went ,it was like a herd of animals ,no washrooms. No privacy.
This is for almost 8 days.
I will request ,any traveler who needs decent settlement to survive ,basic washrooms with doors ,should avoid going with these guys.
Food ,the terrain ,oxygen levels are natural calamities, which no one has control over.
But taking people in a herd ,behaving as if we dont matter ,getting shouted at ,not being given any proper schedule, should not be done or I would say no one deserves such treatment.
The Sherpas who are there ,are all in one ,the same 20 people for 100 of us ,used to cook ,carry our luggage ,accompany us during Parikrama.
The so called Guide is missing most often than not.
Out of 105 ,only 15 could complete the Parikrama, the chosen lucky ones by Mahadev !!!
The others were dissatisfied ,disappointed by the tour people, who promised to give a decent support.
I would strongly suggest, please donot go by this tourand travels.
There are many more ,who have given decent food,decent places to stay ,all in all humane treatment to humans.

Our Trip was a short one but well planned and perfectly executed by maintaining the timing.particularly our Helicopter trip from Kathmandu to Mukthinath was very well executed in just about four and a half an hour. Team Base Camptours were excellent supportive throughout my tour. In view of disastrous road due to natural calamities, their team made wonderful arrangements. We went to Nepal from 17th may 2025 till 27th May 2025. We booked Base Camp Tours for our hike in Gandruk Hill. Mr. Kapil and Mr. Siva helped us with transportations and logistics which was not in their job scope. They gave us the best guide ever, Mr. Kami and Mr. Jeevan during our hike. They were supportive throughout the hike, kept us going, kept us sane, and extremely kind towards us.
