Great clear communication and honest advice to help me make an informed choice for my gym. The quality of the Multi-flex tile was beyond my expectations and the interlocking system was so easy to fit. Thanks Best Gym Flooring.

Initially I was satisfied with the service received. However, upon installation several issues became apparent. Paul Davis was the point of contact throughout.

During the quoting process I requested multiple options to be quoted, including 25mm and 15mm and 25mm flecked mats options. I opted for the 15mm in the end due to price.

I had desired ramped edges but these were not available with the 15mm option. This was not communicated to me clearly, they were just not included in the final quote, so I could have questioned it. I do accept responsibility for not noticing them missing on the invoice.However, i think it should have been made explicitly clear.

Upon installation I discovered this and having spent the best part of £4k, i was left disappointed.

The installation cost was significantly higher than anticipated at £1595. I believed this is a premium product and service. However, the installation was subpar. The mats were not properly aligned and after some negotiation Paul refunded £350 and I had a local fitter do it properly.

To make matters worse, it became apparent the installation cost had been marked up dramatically. I reviewed the delivery manifest and the actual installation cost was £834.

A £761 mark-up is excessive and I consider to be unreasonable.

If you are considering using this company, i’d say the matts are decent, but pretty standard. I recommend negotiating the installation cost or opting for delivery only and ensure installation is carried out by a local trusted fitter, the guy I used in Hampshire was £400.

Overall, I am a dissatisfied customer and think this is a fair review of an overall disappointing experience.

While I appreciate the effort that has gone into drafting it, much of it avoids the central issue: I paid a premium price and did not receive a premium installation.
You are correct that the specification was agreed in advance. As I stated in my original review, I accept responsibility for not noticing that ramped edging had been omitted. However, given the amount of time spent discussing the various flooring options, I still find it remarkable that a significant limitation of the chosen product was never explicitly highlighted. The fact that you now acknowledge this point suggests there was indeed a communication failure.
The larger issue remains the installation itself. Regardless of travel costs, logistics, project management, or after-sales support, the finished product was not installed correctly. This is not simply my opinion; a £350 refund was provided and I then had to employ a local fitter to rectify the work. Had the installation been completed to an acceptable standard in the first place, none of this would have been necessary.
Your response places considerable emphasis on what was done to resolve the situation after the fact. From my perspective, customers paying close to £4,000 should not need remedial actions, partial refunds, negotiations, or third-party contractors to achieve the standard they reasonably expected from day one.
The references to collecting surplus flooring and helping move appliances are appreciated, but these are peripheral matters. They do not change the fact that the core service purchased — the supply and professional installation of gym flooring — fell below expectations.
I also note that despite the detailed response, there is no dispute that the installation was defective, nor any dispute that I incurred additional expense and inconvenience to obtain the finish I originally believed I was paying for.
For prospective customers, my advice remains unchanged. The flooring itself is perfectly serviceable, but I would strongly recommend obtaining independent installation quotes before committing. Based on my experience, there is little justification for paying a substantial premium for installation if the end result may still require corrective work. If I were undertaking the project again, I would purchase the flooring on a supply-only basis from another supplier and use a trusted local fitter from the outset.
Ultimately, I judge companies not by how well they explain problems afterwards, but by whether those problems should have occurred in the first place. Unfortunately, my experience was one of poor communication, disappointing installation quality, and an overall service that did not justify the premium price charged.

From start to end the process was great, good solid communication, quotes fully detailed, no hidden costs. We faced some logistical issues due to the building we are based in (our issue not theirs) but they delivery was made without any issues. The team who also installed the gym flooring were efficient and did a great job given most of the tiles needed to be cut by hand. Overall great experience andgreat value for money,

My experience has been very good with Best Gym Flooring. The communication and technical knowledge is what really impressed me. I originally spoke to Paul who helped to recommend what would work in my gym and then organised for everything to be delivered when I needed it. The quality of flooring is commercial grade gym flooring and we are really happy with the final product in our home gym.

I recently bought some flooring for a new gym venture that I have started and I can honestly say that I can't find any fault with both the product and service I received. Installers turned up when they were supposed to, quick and efficient. Job done!

In the very beginning I was really impressed with this company, I explained my situation and what I wanted in detail, the main reason I contacted this company which I saw in social media claiming to best, I wanted a new gym floor with 2 platforms which would complement the 2 new power rack.
It then agreed, and remember the platforms was the reason I went with this company, I was even sent picture, all these conversations I have.
On the 30th of April 2025, 2 fitters turned up as agreed, I had cancelled clients as wanted in interruptions, unfortunately they run out of flooring, the drop mats were too big, leaving a trip hazard, and guess what, no platforms.
I started to call the company and make contact with my contact, but unfortunately, he was off work dealing with personal Issues.
So, after many promises to ring me back, messages left, I finally was messaged saying that there was a misunderstanding, and the platforms were not part of the transaction, imagine my frustration, as I have the conversations on my phone, and this was the only reason I contacted your company.
I didn’t appreciate being called a liar, and told I was confused, I was not confused, they took no accountability for the mistake, even with evidence of the conversation, no contact, nothing.
So, I’m currently in talks with another company to try and complete the rest of my gym, a company that sticks to its word, take accountability when they mass up, instead of making the customer feel like they’re going mad.
Not a company I would ever recommend, I looking at a second gym, this will be the last company I will approach.

I have just reviewed your reply, and again I find it strange how I’m now being made out to be disrespectful, at no time or anytime was I disrespectful to anyone, I was being passed from one person to the next, and I was on a time deadline, which you were fully aware.
So I’m happy to be portrayed the baddy in you story, I was patient and nothing but respectful to you and your company.
But I’m not shocked by your reply, let’s just leave it at that.
