Never again
Never again. I have been insured on a classic car with Be Wiser for 3 years but today I cancelled the policy because I have sold the car.
Be Wiser have charged me more to cancel the policy than it would have cost to leave it running for the rest of the year.
The policy cost £10 per month, I have paid 3 months so far this year and they charged me £104 to cancel.
They were very quick to point out that this is all clearly stated in their T&Cs which it probably is but rest assured I will not be insuring any cars with them in the future.
It feels a little like robbery rather than reasonable terms.

Nightmare of a company
Nightmare of a company. I arranged insurance 9am 21/3/26 (insurance start date 22/3/26) after taking my deposit £25.01 from my bank I received an email informing me that I was to be charged an additional £88 due to a non fault accident from Feb 2022 (I'm sure I'd read it was any accidents within last 3 years needed to be declared) I called them up to cancel at 10am 21/3/26 1 hr after arranging the policy to be told they would be charging me £14.99 for cancelling. I agreed with that as I needed to get this cancelled. What I didn't know was they would be keeping my deposit of £25.01 taken an hr earlier they then sent me a further email see below

confirm that this has now been completed for you.
As you can see from the table below, thereâs £2.64 still to pay on your policy. Weâll take this payment
by 28th March 2026 from the card we have on record for you, so we can clear this outstanding balance.
There are different ways to pay the amount you owe.You can pay it in full with a debit or credit card,
by bank transfer or cheque. Please refer to the enclosed insert for more information. Please make
your payment by 28th March 2026.
How weâve calculated the amount
When your policy was cancelled, the amount remaining to pay was £201.59.
Your insurer Markerstudy Insurance Services Limited has refunded you £257.87 so
we've used this to reduce the amount you owe.
Youâve made a payment on cancellation of £14.99.This means there's £2.64 left to pay.
Total cancellation cost £42.64 this is a weird amount and I'm unable to figure out how they came to this number. I also have no intention of wasting another few hours of my life on the phone to these jokers
Be warned this company are joke, I'd be staying well away from them. After sorting another quote this morning 22/3/26 with AXA I've now gotten it £50 cheaper and with added recovery too
Best advice go else where even if it's a few quid more expensive

As for the cancellation charge of £14.99 after your decision to cancel within an hour, I appreciate you accepting this fee, and I apologise if this was not clear upfront.
The £2.64 notes in the correspondence will be removed and I can confirm there is nothing outstanding.
