Opéré à Kelkheim près de Francfort d'une hernie inguinale d'un seul côté à 33 ans, tout s'est bien passé. La veille de l'intervention, j'ai rencontré le docteur Martin Wiese qui m'a rassuré. Le lendemain, j'ai été opéré à 10h00 avec la méthode Shouldice et j'ai pu quitter la clinique à 12h30 après avoir mangé. L'après midi, j'ai marché selon les recommandations du docteur Wiese. J'étais accompagné de mes parents. 24h00 après l'opération, le docteur Wiese m'a revu et a changé mon pansement. Il a alors posé un nouveau pansement étanche que je devais garder une semaine. Pas besoin d'antibiotiques. J'ai souffert la première semaine mais je n'avais pas voulu prendre d'anti douleur. Opéré le jeudi, je suis rentré en France le samedi en voiture conduite par mes parents. Par contre, ne pas aller à l'hôtel Arkaden mais plutôt à l'hôtel Post qui est à 200 mètres de la clinique.

Have been operated by Dr Koch in Cottbus for a returning hernia. The result as well as the experience was, again, above imagination. The team, the ambiance, the support and guidance but for all the relaxed, very friendly and presence of Dr Koch makes it a superb experience where quality (the result), human approach and goodfeel makes the difference. A no-brainer for all of you who want a NO-MESH repair !

J'ai 65 ans je le précise parce qu'en France on m'a dit que j'étais trop vieille et mes muscles trop vieux pour ce genre d'intervention. J'ai été opérée le 15 mai 2025.
En France les chirurgiens ne pratiquent que les interventions avec filet. Ayant eu personnellement des gros problèmes de rejets avec les prothèses, je décide contre l'avis de 2 chirurgiens Français qui me disent que je suis pas bien d'aller en Allemagne "et si à votre retour vous avez un problème comment ferez vous ? "Ils m'ont mis plus de pression et d’inquiétude qu'autre chose. C'est décidé, mon choix est fait sans aucune hésitation (je ne veux pas de plastique dans mon corps) je pars en Allemagne pour me faire opérer par un super chirurgien top du top le Dr WIESE grand spécialiste des hernies inguinales et autres. Dès le début et jusqu'à la fin j'ai été prise en charge par Nahom Biohernia au pays bas qui m'a dit comment tout cela allait se passer (intervention, voyage, logement....), il a répondu à toutes mes interrogations et même à aujourd'hui je sais que si j'ai une question à poser, lui et le Dr Wiese seront là pour me répondre, je n'ai jamais connu çà en France. Tout l'équipe de la clinique en Allemagne a été accueillante,très professionnelle, toujours souriante et bienveillante. L'intervention s'est super bien passée, j'ai eu un filet naturel résorbable au bout de 2 ans car le Dr Wiese a découvert un trou qui par la suite aurait pu donner une hernie inguinale, ce filet va réparer et nourrir ma peau pour qu'il n'y est plus de trou (trou non vu en France par les médecins et chirurgiens).
Dés mon réveil j'ai marché sans aucune douleur, l'après midi j'ai marché 7kms, j'ai trouvé çà super et très étonnant que mon corps se remette en marche aussi vite.Au début pour moi quand je me couchais ou m'assoyait çà tirait c'est normale, mon corps doit s'habituer, mais 3 jours après tout était redevenu normal.
Une semaine après mon retour j'ai reçu un mail de Nahom qui a pris de mes nouvelles, wouah quelle super attention vis à vis des patients.
Si c'était à refaire je le referai sans aucne aucune hésitation, tout était parfait.
Alors je tiens vraiment à remercier du fond du coeur le Dr WIESE, ANNA l'anesthésiste, Nahom et toute l'équipe de la clinique qui m'a accueillit avec gentillesse et bienveillance (c'est pas évident de venir d'aussi loin pour se faire opérer, mais là bas j'étais bien et en confiance).

Uitstekende dienstverlening, zowel het intake proces, de informatievoorziening, de beantwoording van vragen,de behandeling en alles daar omheen als de afronding allemaal prima geregeld.
In vijf jaar tijd twee maal een operatie gehad (1x rechts en 1x links) over de beide keren ben ik zeer tevreden.

For us it was more like a holiday rather than a inguinal hernia surgery!
Now, writing this six weeks after the surgery I don’t feel anything anymore. Jus a little swelling were the cut was made. I can even see the cut hardly. I’m jogging over 30 minutes without any trouble and riding bike, walking, everything. And that’s what really matters, how life is after surgery. And that is great again.
About the contact, communication, friendliness and expertise from Biohernia, Dr. Koch and his staff and even the people from the Sorat Hotel in Cottbus a big applause. From the first contact until the last, simply superb.
And staying in the Hotel where Dr. Koch came by once or twice a day after the surgery made me a free man for the rest of the day, so my wife and I could stroll trough Cottbus and made some tours in the area. That is much more pleasant than laying in a swampy hospital all day waiting.

Martin was a fantastic surgeon. My umbilical hernia repair was a little more complicated as it was the third time I needed to have it done (twice in the UK) - hence wanting to find an expert and have a biodegradable mesh. Martin was extremely competent and kind, and the whole team at the clinic were supportive, friendly and professional. Great follow-up / aftercare too. Biohernia / Nahom was really communicative and helpful at getting everything arranged. Definitely recommend both BioHernia and Martin!

All aspects of the medical treatment by Dr Wiese, his excellent anaesthetist and team were first-rate. The hernia repair was a short process and I was up and walking the same day. A week later I was pain free and moving normally.

The only reservation which makes this a less than 5 star review is that the Hotel Arkaden in Kellheim is the worst hotel I've stayed in in 20 years. When we arrived in the evening my wife wondered whether I had been victim of a scam.

The consultation the next day completely settled that anxiety. However, I'd recommend finding alternative accomodation.

Two years on…
My reasons for choosing a tissue repair, and my experience at Cottbus, echo the many other reviews here with Dr Koch’s team, the Sorat Hotel and Cottbus city.
I was the only patient from the UK, and travelled alone, which initially felt a bit scary, but the other patients using the hotel, and their companions (mainly from Holland), were very kind and made sure I was OK. Many thanks to them and I hope they also had good recoveries.
The only real pain I experienced post-op was getting in and out of bed and made me a bit worried, perhaps unnecessarily, about damaging the repair. I found some useful videos on YouTube from qualified physiotherapists that explained a technique helpful after abdominal surgery, and I used this for a few weeks.
Two years on, I am still very happy with the treatment for my right inguinal hernia, and have been able to get back to all my sporting activities with no pain. I do avoid exercises that put a lot of pressure on the abdomen, such as crunches but that is a precaution to avoid a hernia on my left side.
A big thank you to Nahom, Dr Koch’s team and the staff at the Sorat Hotel for the quality service that you provided. I am very grateful.

Jag åkte till Dr Wiese i Kelkheim för operation av ensidigt ljumskbråck i slutet av januari 2025 efter kontakt med Nahom/BioHernia. Processen inleddes med en videokonsultation och operationstiden fick jag 2-3 veckor efter initial kontakt. All kontakt innan resan och hela upplevelsen i Tyskland var utmärkt, och jag har verkligen ingenting att klaga på. Nu är det snart 7 veckor sedan operationen och återhämtningen har varit fin och allt känns mycket bra för mig. Rekommenderar varmt denna tjänst!

I am so glad that I listened to my instincts.
I was scheduled to have surgery for a hernia in
November 2024. However, I live in Ireland, where
hernias are repaired with a plastic mesh.
My instincts were screaming against this, so I did
some research and I found BioHernia.
From my first consult on the phone, I knew that
this was the way forward.
I cancelled my upcoming surgery, and made
arrangements to go to Germany.
I am 69, female, and travelled on my own, in the
worst of winter conditions, and yet, I can only
describe the experience, as an incredibly good
one.
The staff in BioHernia, both office and surgical,
are efficient, friendly and extremely caring.
Dr. Martin Wiese is amazing.
From the first moment, I was sure and certain that

Mijn ervaring bij dokter Andreas Koch was echt fantastisch!!!

Dit is de manier hoe een liesbreuk operatie zou moeten gedaan worden, geen kunststof matje in je lichaam plaatsen en dichtmaken, maar de tijd nemen om een patiënt echt te opereren en het probleem ook werkelijk oplossen.

Mijn gehele ervaring was vanaf de intake in Amsterdam tot mijn laatste check bij dokter Andreas Koch in Duitsland ( Cottbus) als heel prettig!!
De dag van de operatie komt Andreas diezelfde dag nog in het zorghotel langs om te kijken of alles goed gaat.

Mijn herstel is heel snel gegaan, gelukkig weinig last gehad.
Mijn zeurende pijn is eindelijk weg als ik te lang sta en mijn lelijke bobbel is eindelijk verdwenen.

Nahom is zijn Nederlandse contactpersoon en die verzorgt alle belangrijke informatie die nodig is.
Hij reageert ook heel snel op alle e-mails die ik verstuurd hebt.

Mijn verzekering heeft het voor 75% vergoed dus dat is ook heel fijn!

Bedankt voor de goede zorg en ik raad Andreas Koch zeer zeker aan.

After a consult in Amsterdam, I had surgery in Cottbus, Germany. Dr. Koch, who collaborates with a local hotel, ensured a warm welcome and answered all questions. On surgery day, his team arranged a taxi, and the procedure was done within an hour. Dr. Koch visited daily to check my progress, and after a few days, I was cleared to go home. With monthly visits to Amsterdam, follow-up consults are easy. Given the issues with mesh placement, Dr. Koch’s quick, easy, and successful surgery without mesh makes you wonder why anyone chooses otherwise.

Dankzij BioHernia de mogelijkheid gekregen om naar Kelkheim af te reizen waar de zeer kundige Dr. Wieze en zijn team mijn dubbel-zijdige liesbreuk verholpen hebben.

Ik wilde in Nederland geen matje(s) laten plaatsen vanwege alle redenen die eigenlijk al bekend zijn (e.g., verhoogde kans op chronische pijn, lichaam kan de matjes afstoten, gevoelloosheid, etc. etc.). Let wel, er zijn ook bergen mensen die zonder klachten rondlopen met matjes, maar ik wilde er niet aan en vooral niet aan beide kanten. Ik had een liesbreuk van 2 cm rechts en een kleinere liesbreuk van 3 mm links. Ik ben 28 dus ik dacht, die matjes gaan het nooit nog 50 jaar uithouden in mijn lijf (dit is puur persoonlijke voorkeur).

BioHernia (Nahom) had alles goed geregeld, het hotel was niet geweldig, maar het gaat om de locatie (op steenworp van de kliniek). De kliniek van Dr. Wieze is super, de medewerkers zijn super vriendelijk, spreken uitstekend Engels, doen hun best en zien wekelijks Nederlanders, dus je word met open armen ontvangen (en hier en daar worden er wat Nederlandse woordjes uitgegooid als blijk van herkenning e.g. "blauwe plekken").

Het is wel belangrijk om je het volgende goed te realiseren, de behandling, oftewel de "shouldice methode" heeft een zwaarder herstel en met een dubbelzijdige liesbreuk was het dat herstel pittig, alles doet pijn. Je loopt als een opa van 92, ik kon me de eerste paar dagen niet eens in bed draaien etc. Een matje wat via een kijkoperatie geplaatst wordt ben je sneller weer van op de been, deze behandeling is invasiever voor je lichaam.

Dat gezegd hebbende, mijn theorie is, beter twee/drie zware weken dan 'lichaams-oneigen' plastic meshes waar vanalles mee zou kunnen mis gaan. Bij Dr. Wieze ben je dan ook echt aan het juiste adres want deze chirurg heeft meer liesbreuken gezien in zijn leven dan dat er sterren aan de hemel zijn.

Een lange 'review' maar dit is ook een belangrijke levenskeuze voor veel mensen, ik heb lang getwijfeld maar ik ben uiteindelijk heel blij dat ik naar Duitsland ben gegaan, van te voren bij CZ de vergoeding geregeld en alles werd 100% vergoed.

Ik heb nog een laatste tip, onderschat deze behandeling NIET, neem je partner mee of een vriend(in), familielid, etc. ga niet alleen. Je ondergaat een zware operatie ver van huis, en je bent in goede handen maar zorg ervoor dat er iemand bij is die voor je kan zorgen (e.g., die je kan helpen met het aandoen van je sokken en samen met je gaat wandelen om te herstellen, iemand als 'steun en toeverlaat').

Nogmaals veel dank Dr. Wieze, zijn team en Nahom van BioHernia.

I was aware that the mesh hernia repair has its drawbacks and that the natural tissue repair approach represents the practice Gold Standard.
Unfortunately this method is uncommon in UK & therefore turned to BioHernia . My operation in Frankfurt was superbly organised by Nahom, including my hotel stay.
My surgeon, Dr Martin Weise was very approachable and, kindly explained the procedure . The key areas included
1.Pre operative assessment. Excellent
2.Operation. Excellent result bearing in mind my inguinal hernia was quite large .
3.Post operative assessment .Excellent
Access to hospital. Excellent.No more than a 2 minute walk
Overall Experience in relation to Dr Weise & his staff.Excellent.

De organisatie van en door de heer Andreas Koch was uitstekend. Het vertrouwen in de inhoud en organisatie is nooit beschaamd.
Het resultaat na 6 weken lijkt geweldig. ik ga weer sporten en tillen en .....
Dr. Andreas Koch heeft in mij er een "ambassadeur" (bij-) gekregen.

Op 5 november 2024 ben ik door Dr. Koch in Cottbus geopereerd aan een liesbreuk, die een paar jaar eerder in Nederland al gediagnostiseerd was en waar ik gaandeweg steeds meer last van kreeg. De behandeling in Duitsland zonder kunstof matje door Dr. Koch en zijn team is goed en op een hele aangename manier verlopen. Ik had weinig napijn, en de napijn die ik had werd snel minder. De wond is heel vakkundig dichtgemaakt en mooi hersteld. Ik ben heel blij met mijn keuze voor een behandeling zonder matje in Cottbus.

Ik ben hartelijk ontvangen door Martin Wiese en zijn team in Kelkheim (vlakbij Frankfurt), op 2,5 uur rijafstand van thuis.
De operatie van een dubbele liesbreuk verliep voorspoedig, waardoor ik de dag erna naar huis kon rijden om daar verder te herstellen.
Er volgde een pijnlijke week op de bank. Daarna ging het elke dag in rap tempo beter. Het was de juiste beslissing om dit door Martin en zijn kundige team te laten doen want ik kan weer onbelemmerd werken en sporten en heb er een goed en onbezorgd gevoel bij!
Ook een compliment aan Nahom die mij per email steeds goed wist te informeren over alles.

Kundig chirurg, fijn dat er een specialist is die deze operatie nog veel uitvoert (zonder matje) Prettig contact met biohernia. Goede nazorg! Echt top!
