Massive waste of time
Massive waste of time, gave me wrong information, never returned calls or messages. wasted several hours over several days just to be told that they gave me the wrong information. When asked about it they just said sorry try again later. Donât waste your time.
Waste of time
I made an appointment just to wait over an hour. Stay away from the Washington square location. They will waste your time. Will be donating with a company that knows what they are doing.
tucson auto mall drive is terrible
i used ti be in and out in 90 minutes until september. now its usually 3 hours even when its not busy. hire more people so the process goes quicker. and they need to get rid of the pop musc. replace it with kday stream or sports talk radio
I had an appointment for 12 oâclockâŠ
I had an appointment for 12 oâclock today. I sat on a bed for 40 minutes and nobody ever came over to me. People were coming in after me and getting served first. I finally just got up and walked out. I will try again later today if I cool off.
Might Switch to Grifols, Ames IA
My donation location is Ames IA. Might be switching to Grifols on N Loop Drive. Kept getting Biolife ads for an extra $800 for 8 donations in 30 days, thought it wouldnt hurt to try. Week 4, had a med change by my PCP. Did not take the new meds as I did not want them to interfere with completing the final donation. A very rude nurse made me wait an hour for med change review, while she completed new donor exams for people who arrived after me. Then, advised of the new prescriptions, despite not having taken the meds, she imposed a 30 day ban on donation from when the meds were prescribed, so I could not complete my donation. Manager Kyle seemed to want to be more reasonable, but acted like his hands were tied. I was offered a "comeback card" for a much lower amount, and only good if I return and do 2 more donations within 30 days (you know, the exact time of the donation ban). Nothing about this on the website.
Oh, and their app is supposed to not let you schedule if you aren't eligible to donate. But immediately after leaving, I wondered if that was true.. Found out I was able to schedule for the next day (I canceled it of course). But if I go back, that gives me zero confidence that I won't travel there next time and not still have a ban in place and it will be another big waste of time.
The waits are LONG
The waits are LONG! Even with an "appt", I've waited in line for an hour or more before getting to a chair. I was there for over 3 hours tonight for my 8th donation! I don't know why they require a time commitment when they don't uphold their end of it. The skill of the phlebotomists really varies which results in longer times in the chair and possible sticks in both arms to ensure full payment for a donation. The staff have been super nice, so this mixed review is for that reason.
There a girl by the name of ThomariaâŠ
There a girl by the name of Thomaria that works there she amazing. It's people like this that's makes the differences.
David
David, at the Lombard location, as always, did a perfect job. My donation went smoothly and David is always friendly!
I have been coming and donating forâŠ
I have been coming and donating for well over 2 years now and everything is usually awesome, even when the place is at its busiest, however today was very frustrating. I got to my donor bed and was waiting, (well past an hour from my appt. time). I observed the guy doing disconnects and then started getting someone else set up that came in way after I did. I told the lady at the front desk and she informed him that I had been waiting a long time and was supposed to be next. He finally came over, no sorry about that, no how are you today or anything. Then once done didnât ask if I was okay ot to let him know if I needed anything.
Not worth it, they don't respect your time
The staff is really nice but the really long lines and wait times that are usually 1.5-2 hrs before getting plugged in are crazy since we have "appointments". So I cannot be 1 minute late and can't leave the room after signing in, but it takes 3 hrs to be done which is really frustrating! The money is very low for the first visit of the week so you are pressured to come back. This makes it really hard if there 25+ people waitingi n line in front of you because then you are trapped. Been going for months but it just is not worth the time and effort anymore.
I am an eight gallon whole blood andâŠ
I am an eight gallon whole blood and several platelets donor but was told I was ineligible to donate plasma because I fainted one time in my adult life. This would have been good information to have before I drove an hour and a half to the facility and spent 2 hours in the screening process. Should have at least been given the opportunity. Want the $100 I was promised at least for my time since it was not my choice to donate. Warning to new donors, donât waste your time if you have ever fainted even one time in your life!
I've been to three locations
I've been to three locations. First was Independence MO, clean, knowledgeable staff. The l8nes at this location are always there, but they move through them quick enough. Second was Liberty MO. again very clean, knowledgeable staff. There are never really lines other than one or two people, they are efficient at their jobs and always have a smile to give. Thirdly is the St.Peters location. Extremely clean, knowledgeable friendly always chatting you up staff. There are lines but again a very efficient staff that moves through them quickly.
I really enjoy doing this sure the 800 that they paid over my first 8 visits was nice. I am continuing for the people it helps. I received an email saying MG plasma was used in 16 life saving procedures. That made all the difference for me knowing that some soldier defending freedom or a car crash victim is being helped by me. I could never operate on someone or even stick them with a needle, but knowing I'm involved in the process of saving a life makes me feel proud. So no you'll never be rich by DONATING but you will get a chance to save a life. Lastly take it easy on the team at biolife they are just doing their part in saving lives.
more experienced staff
I believe you should have better training or not allow beginners to place IV. My fiance has gone in and has been hurt often to where his arm swells up because of inexperienced staff. He had a girl this week literally just stick the needle downwards so deep with no reason as to why she did it that way then called for help. His arm has been swollen all week because of her mistake.
This has happened plenty of times and he hates saying anything because were too nice but it's not fair to be hurt. He said he already knows who knows and doesn't know how to do their job correctly in regard to administering the IV and just waits in hopes of not getting hurt because he wont speak up.
I know a person chooses to donate but also should not be hurt just because it's a choice to be there.
Unsanitary Conditions at this location
The first mistake in my Biolife journey was when the person sampling my blood from my finger for my physical dropped the thing that pulls the blood from my finger, on the counter before using it to pull blood. Seemed unsanitary. Then the second mistake was when the girl who was going to put the huge needle into my arm used her gloved hand to move around her nose piercing; she never changed her glove after that and I never saw her change her glove between patients. That seems like cross contamination. Now, I'm super upset because the spot she stuck me with a needle now has a rash on it, the rash isn't getting better. Very disappointed with the cleanliness of the Phlebotomus, she shouldn't be aloud a nose piercing if she is going to be messing with it incessantly with gloved hands if she doesn't know proper glove procedure. I'm worried this rash is a sign that she got my needle hole or needle dirty because I never have rashes.
Dear BioLife Plasma Team,
Dear BioLife Plasma Team,
I am writing to express my disappointment with the experience I recently had at one of your donation centers. After waiting for over three hours in the waiting area, I was still not seen, which is simply unacceptable. Throughout this time, I noticed that the staff displayed poor customer service, and were not friendly or helpful in addressing the long wait times.
If the donation process is going to take upwards of six hours, BioLife should be transparent with potential donors about the actual time commitment. It is unfair for donors to be kept waiting for hours without any updates or accommodations.
I hope that BioLife can take this feedback seriously and improve its communication and customer service standards. If these issues arenât addressed, it will likely discourage many potential donors, as it has done for me.
I go to lakeland biolife
I go to lakeland biolife .
They used to take people one by one when one was finished . Now they take them 6 by section this process isnât working ! I used to be in and out around 1:30 min no later than 2 hrs now itâs 3 hrs ! Then when you go to a section by 6 even if you was first in line they hook you up sometimes last thatâs could be another 15 -20 minute wait or more! Other than the wait time the people and places is nice!!
My most recent donation was at the San Marcos location.
My most recent donation was at the San Marcos location. Rosa was the technician and she was extremely professional and courteous. In fact, when she inserted the needle, I did not feel a single thing. It was unbelievable compared to previous visits. Lauren was also very helpful and professional. It was by far the best visit I have had since donating.
Promo of making 800 for first timeâŠ
Promo of making 800 for first time donors is VERY misleading. It's not the 800. It's 90 to 100 for first timers and with the possibility of earning the advertised 800 over 8 donations. Not one donation. Very misleading and deceitful.
Rejected because of endoscopy
I went to donate and ended up getting rejected the first time because i told then i had depression, so they made my doctor fill out a form basically stating , or in the words of the nurse at biolife ' to make sure your stable" (which i took offense to. I said so just because i have depression im not mentally stable enough to make my own decisions?"- absolutely ridiculous! So i unwillingly allowed them the information from my doctor and had their stupid form filled out. Then after waiting 2 weeks for them to finish going through them i was "approved" by a "physician" to move forward. Apparently they decided i COULD make my own decisions based on my 'mental health' - so ridiculouslt unnecessary in my opinion. So i finally came back to complete my physical at biolife. Which consisted of more nosey questions that should absolutely not have an effect on a person being allowed to donate. After giving them even more information about myself, ( i mean what the hell does all of this have to do with a physical blood donation to a stranger!?! American cross does better good for people and asks only necessary physical health related questions in order to donate). And several processes and physical health tests and screenings, then i go in for the "physical" which only consists of even MORE questions that required clarification, which ended up indicating that i in fact was NOT eligible to donate for a period of FOUR MONTHS because i had an endoscopy a month prior!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! FOR 4 months? Why so long that is absolutely ridiculous! They told me it was because of the risk to ME that they didn't want to take away proteins i needed. I do not understand how that would even be the case?! So ridiculous to give them all off this very personal information that has zero effect on the health of my blood in any way. I was really looking forward to doing something good for people who may need it but after all if this personal questioning , from being told i potentially wasn't mentally stable enough to even make this decision for myself, to supplying these people with personal information regarding the care i was recieving, too going through the initial process they complete each time you donate, passing that portion, and then being questioned even further but then being told i was ineligible because of an ENDOSCOPY, i left feeling frusterated and over analyzed in too many ways that honestly shouldn't impact your eligibility to do something good for someone who needs it. Can't believe i wasted my time, i would suggest asking all the questions at your first visit so you do not waste your time with these people.
I was deferred for life because IâŠ
I was deferred for life because I donated at another place before going there, yes it was my second time doing it but I forgot with too mamy things to do in life they should of just told not to donate that day and come on the next day.!
