I approached Sam and Blackacre on the 1st of May, 2025, and within hours, had a lovely email back suggesting a consultation the very next day.

Following this, we were able to get an in person meeting arranged for the day following, where we were greeted by Sam and one of his team. This was perfect as we had a whole hour and a half dedicated to our ring, with no other customers in the office.

We were presented with an in depth overview of the ring designing process and an assortment of different centre stones of varying size and quality that Sam thought would suit our design.

Following this, we had a full quotation by the 6th of May, and by the 13th we had agreed a design and price.

Having paid a deposit, we received weekly progress photos of the 3D design, the wax models, the moulds, and the finishing, before the ring was completed on the 18th of June.

I proposed to my now fiancé yesterday and she totally loves the ring.

Overall, I could not be happier with how the process turned out. From what seems so daunting at first, Sam and the team make designing a custom ring so easy. I always felt listened to and valued as a customer, not just another number on a spreadsheet. Sam and the team were accommodating with our wishes and timeline too. To top it off, they provided us with a ring box, a gouache painting of the ring, and a lovely book which contained our GIA diamond certificate, care guide, and everything we needed to get insurance.

I hope the above overview convinces someone to take on Blackacre to design and create their engagement ring, as they are well and truly fantastic.

Henrietta and Laura provide the most wonderful bespoke service and make you feel truly special. Irrespective of what your budget is or what you have in mind for the engagement ring, I would really recommend meeting them and seeing what they have to offer. I could not be happier. I found Blackacre’s website while looking for earrings. After emailing, I went up to their offices to try on a similar pair and discuss my requirements with Laura who was very professional, knowledgeable and so welcoming. Throughout the making process, I was sent photographs of the cad design and castings which made it an exciting journey. I am totally thrilled with the earrings - beautiful design and very high quality.

They have subsequently remodelled an heirloom ring into a beautifully designed bracelet and I was very impressed by how much time they took to find the stones to colour match another of my jewellery pieces. They’ve also resized and refurbished another inherited ring which now looks amazing.

Laura, Sam and the team have an obvious love of gemstones and design, and are committed to producing gorgeous pieces that they and their customers are proud of. As someone with little experience in design, the thought of designing a bespoke ring with a jeweller was very daunting. However, Sam, Laura and Henrietta were wonderful to work with throughout. Sam provided an excellent initial overview of diamonds, settings and stone integration. It was also evident from the first meeting that Blackacre values attention to detail and expert craftmanship in every piece. The team organised several meetings to assist with the ring design and eventually produced a CAD design that exceeded expectations, incorporating all of the elements discussed. Importantly, I didn’t feel rushed during the process, and communication throughout was fantastic. The team also sent regular photo and video updates during the ring's creation, which was greatly appreciated.

The overall finish was beautiful, and my fiancé was blown away when seeing the ring for the first time. I would highly recommend Blackacre to anyone searching for a bespoke engagement ring!

The process of finding a ring was quite daunting to begin with and after countless hours searching we came across Blackacre and decided to find out more.

Henrietta replied to our initial query very quickly, taking onboard our requirements and parameters to setup a video call (given our distance away).

Henrietta went to great lengths to demonstrate to us over video the options we have for our budget, as well as providing expertise on what goes with what.

After deciding on a configuration the wheels were put into motion as our creation began, we were kept updated at numerous points along the way with updates via email of the different stages and pictures of the process without giving anything away of the 'big' reveal.

Once complete we setup a face to face with Henrietta in London on a date of our choosing to collect, had a very friendly chat to go over the ring and anything going forwards.

All in all the experience couldn't have gone any better.

When I and my partner first met Laura and Henrietta, we had very little knowledge about colour, clarity and cuts but both Laura and Henrietta took the time to explain everything - very informative and practical!

The whole process was hugely enjoyable and interesting, and the Blackacre team were always quick with expert advice and insight to help my own concept take the form of a beautiful and unique ring. The details that I learned were amazing and I can now hold my own when discussing jewellery. I could not recommend them more for a perfect ring and all done in such an engaging and personal way.
