An absolutely unbelievable service here. Sent in 2 ‘dead’ bread knives - without much hope because the serrations were completely flattened. Within 5 days I had two brilliant bread knives back - completely restored. Plus a very sharp chopper.
What an astonishing company- they are simply brilliant for service and price. Highly recommend

Japanese knives perfect

I used a local service first who managed to make my 3 knives blunter than before I handed them over. I'd been considering Blade and Butler and should have gone with them in the first place. Quick turnaround and nice sharp knives again. Would say though that my smallest paring knife now has a smaller blade. A little expensive when you add the delivery costs on top.

The service was really good, fast and safe. Indeed a bit expensive for me, but worth it because the knives are now super sharp. Unfortunately I couldn't send one of them from the set, but will have to wait to do that later (didn't find a price for 6 knives, just 5 or 7!).

Terrible craftsmanship and finish, with no regard for quality or detail.
I dropped off 5 kitchen knives for sharpening and two tip repairs. They were in good condition, but were returned with wavy, inconsistent grinds that don't match on both sides of the blade. The heels were rounded with a rough finish, some even had visible nicks. The grinds were left coarse, and the only polishing was on the branding, which has been partially removed (and looks awful).
While the knives were sharper, the grinds were much steeper and not matched to the original factory angle, making me doubt they will stay sharp for long. I highlighted these issues to Blade & Butler with photos, but they insisted the "bevels and sharpening are absolutely perfect and 100% percent in line with stated procedure, outcome and protocols”.They offered to resharpen, but I declined based on their standards.
I am incredibly unhappy with the service, as I now need to pay someone else to fix the damage.

Our global knives had rust spots on and were quite blunt. The bread knife needed reserrating. We were going to buy new ones but decided to give BladeandButler a go.

They were excellent. Our knives looked like new and were very sharp! A quick and easy service to use. Highly recommend and we will definitely use again

We had some knives only a year or so old which had become very dull. I was very happy to find this place; they know what they're doing and the service is great.

Excellent service, had some vintage good quality knives I inherited from my Italian grandmothers house, been in storage for years, so pleased I found this site. Very easy process with Blade & Butler, knives are now unbelievably sharp I use daily for bread etc. would only comment when returned covered in brown tape to cover knife sleeve so presentation in box bit tatty. I will definitely recommend them also very speedy service.

Great sharpening and great service

Brilliant service and fantastic outcome. I used B&B to sharpen up some 20 year old Global Knives that had been mistreated, put through the dishwasher, dropped, chipped...etc. They were returned literally like new. Ultra sharp and the chips had been smoothed out. Will be using them again for our other knives.

Firstly, the good points. Good marketing. Easy postal service for sending and receiving your knives back, relatively quickly, depending on the service you choose.
Now the bad. I sent 5 high quality folding knives off to be restored to a factory edge in order to sell on second hand.
Five knives returned in much worse condition than when sent. All five had uneven grinds. One side much higher than the other. All the knife tips had been blunted for some reason. One had been heated so much during grinding that the blade had changed colour. (This changes the structure of the metal.) Two knives had grooves cut into the blades and on all five of them, far too much metal had been removed than was necessary.
I received the knives back on a Thursday and contacted the company on the following Monday. They did respond almost immediately and asked for photographs which I sent. They also asked if had read T&C's which I had. They then promised to respond within 24 hours.
I waited 5 days and emailed again, and they said that they hadn't been able to reply because of a problem with their Email server!
Before sending knives to this company I specifically sent emails asking if they were able to sharpen recurve blades and a particular high end powder steel, and they assured me that they could.
To summarise. No doubt a reasonable service for cheap, blunt kitchen knives where aesthetics are not a concern. For anything expensive or collectable, in my experience, then absolutely not. Unable to sell now due to the poor condition.
They have offered for me to send them back for additional work if I pay the postage, but after this experience I think I'll avoid.

Excellent service from B&B. We ordered a 5-knife option. A package was sent to us to safely send off the Global knives, which were returned a week or so later very well-sharpened.

This was such an easy interaction. Box arrived promptly and included the interim knife I had ordered. Packaging was secure and turnaround to have my 3 knives sharpened and returned was prompt! My global knives had many nicks. All gone and sharpened like new!

Used to be able too have my knives sharpened locally for £3 per knife but person now retired. Found this service while trying to find another local service (no luck). Found it very easy to use and very pleased with my knives. One star lost due to price - expensive for retired me but better than trying to use blunt knives!

WoW! What a brilliant service. From start to finish Blade and Butler courier out a package that you can safely put your knives in, you then send them back via courier, they sharpen them (unbelievably) and then they courier them back to you... all within a week.
AND WoW - I have new knives again - I'm soooo pleased, i hadn't quite realised how bad my knives were and to be honest - they weren't expensive originally, maybe £50 was my most expensive one.
I really am very surprised and would definitely recommend to anyone who has any reservations.
Absolutely brilliant - am rummaging through my drawers to see if I have any others now.

Great system. Ordered 5 knife package, box arrived a few days later and was returned promptly. I had 2 knives which had a big chip and I thought I would have to throw them away. No need to worry, all knives returned very sharp and no chips in sight.

Sent off 7 knives which were returned to me within a reasonable period in a nice and sharp condition and for a very reasonable price. All in all, very happy!

My Global knives that I have had for 20 years were in need of a good sharpen.
On searching for a knife sharpening service, Blade and Butler seemed to have good reviews and offer a slick service.
In short, they do exactly what they say!
The service is easy and very professional. The packaging for the knives arrived within a day or two. I used Evri delivery service which took a while (which is noted on Blade and Butler website) but when the knives came back, they were like new.
Fantastic service, great value and I will definitely be using their service in the future.

I’ve given it a 3, simply because as the website stated, they make old knifes feel sharp again, so I sent off my best chef knifes and even included one which was completely round off at the bottom. They came back and I noticed they had taken a decent amount of the knifes blade material off to some knifes which didn’t really need. They had more orless just made an edge so wasn’t verry sharp, luckily I have a wetstone and have experience in sharpening knifes so all in all, don’t send them off to get sharp, send them off to blade and butler to get given a good edge on your knife however lose alot of knife. But they because easier to sharpen yourself

Bought the three knife package and now my three favourite knives are probably sharper than when new. Second sharpening for these knives and find no fault with physical appearance. Customer service was prompt and helpful when I had an email query.
Will use again and would recommend.
