Claire Dyer and Elizabeth Owen ( at Reading offices)made what is a painful process (divorce) as pain free and as smooth as a divorce can possibly be and they both did a WONDERFUL job with great empathy, compassion and sensitivity. I never felt belittled or embarrassed talking to either of the lovely ladies. I have (sad though it is) recommended several friends to them both.

They were my buyer’s solicitor and were ridiculously slow, unresponsive and requested the same information over and over. They were also arrogant which in itself would not have been a problem if they had been competent but this was definitely not the case. They could not even prorate a share of leasehold costs correctly (they were £ hundreds out). According to the estate agent, they were once one of the best conveyancing solicitors in Reading but since their expansion are now the worst.

(Edit: If they responded as quickly to other solicitors and clients as they do to reviews then that would be a start!)

We recently decided to have our Wills written, and we are so pleased that we chose Blandy and Blandy Solicitors for this purpose. They gave us all the information we needed, and took plenty of time to ensure we understood our options.

I feel I was let down by my solicitor who said correspondence had gone in junk and didn’t reply for weeks. I tried to call one time she didn’t answer it was extremely frustrating to the point I had to find another solicitor after over a year of not getting very far at all

Denise was great, helped guide me through the whole process and kept me up to date with everything as and when she found out, There was no point in which I felt stressed as the whole process was made very smooth by her.

We instructed Blandy and Blandy to carry out the conveyancing for our house move. We found the solicitor hard to contact and slow to respond, if at all. On the day before completion it was discovered that a key document had not been sent to us for signature. It was very inconvenient to have to go to Reading to sign the form. Overall not a great experience.

The service I received was excellent and very informative,I felt totally at ease dealing with Anne. Making a Will can be daunting however she put me at ease in the first few minutes at our first meeting. I highly recommend Blandy & Blandy Reading for their informative and quick service.

We used Blandy for our first house purchase which you’d assume would have been straight forward being first time buyers, unfortunately we had major issues with our seller but Blandy were one step ahead at every opportunity and really protected our best interests during the entire process!

We had the pleasure of dealing with Karen Pratt and let me tell you, she was absolutely fantastic. We have been buying and selling properties for 30 years and have never dealt with a company as professional as these. We were kept informed every step of the way and the best thing was, Karen was always on the end of the phone.

I have not needed a solicitor for over 40 years but due to being made redundant I had employ one to help me with the legal part. I cannot fault Blandy & Blandy they where extremely professional and communication was excellent. If I ever need to use a solicitor again I will contact Blandy & Blandy again.

I contacted Blandy & Blandy to assist with an employment issue and Aoife McGrath who handled my case, did so expertly and empathetically, she gave all the legal advice needed and made all the necessary arrangements swiftly and efficiently. Natasha Hood was our solicitor, at Blandy and Blandy from Reading branch, doing our conveyancing and she was good and kept us updated in regular intervals and got things done in sooner than expected timeline. Only 4 stars because there were multiple (3) times mistakes made by her secretary or the legal trainees which kept her and us doing a bit of changes again. Overall happy with the service received and recommend them to others.

I received exemplary service from Karen during the sale of my late parent's house. She was very efficient and always on hand to answer any questions. I would highly recommend Karen to my family and friends as she has a very caring nature and professional at all times.

I reached out to Blandy & Blandy regarding my child and financial arrangements procedure. After a few unsuccessful previous experiences with other solicitors, I started doubting I would ever be able to make my case heard.
My case was very complex involving young children in an international context. The children were suffering emotional harm hence requiring a very quick action. However, the progress with the court case was very slow. This is when I started to work with Blandy & Blandy. They made me feel very welcome and understood immediately the situation and recommended the right course of action. I was separated from my kids for years but once my case got handled by Blandy & Blandy I was able to see my kids within a few months and even got full time residence.

Having lost my mother to covid at Christmas 2020 I followed her wishes and contacted Blandys who she had used for many years to deal with her estate
Sarah who dealt with the probate and Karen who dealt with the conveyancing helped me through every step of the way
They were so helpful professional and fun where appropriate
Every i was dotted and every T crossed by them every step of the way
Mum died in the December, the probate was done by April and the house sale completed by august
Considering we were all experiencing lockdowns and the pandemic was at its height it was a great achievement and I will be eternally grateful to them both

Blandy & Blandy are Incredibly slow, unresponsive and do not have the necessary skills to do work successfully.

I am buying a property where the seller is using Blandy & Blandy.
I am now 5 months into this process and there is still no sign of an exchange date, let alone a completion date. Even though my side of things has been ready for months.
I spend months chasing Blandy & Blandy to get the simplest things done. They do not answer all enquiries and also answer inaccurately with very simple enquiries.
Blandy & Blandy took over a month to send the initial draft contract. This caused huge delays from the start, then Blandy & Blandy took 8 weeks to reply to enquiries. 8 weeks, Yes 2 months.
These were not complicated enquiries and when they did finally reply, it was incomplete.
I don’t understand how a solicitor can be completely unresponsive for 8 weeks.
There is no urgency or professionalism from Blandy & Blandy.

I have all communication records from my solicitor and the Estate Agent who is helping me chase Blandy & Blandy also, so it’s not a case of solicitors lying, mine has been very efficient, and I sign and return all my documents on the same day I receive them.
All I seem to be doing is waiting on Blandy & Blandy to send correct documents, we waited weeks for a reply for them to then send the wrong document. I don’t understand how a solicitor whose job it is to be thorough can make such incompetence.
I am a buyer with no chain and no delays, we are now 5 months into this transaction and still no sign of an estimate exchange date in sight.
Not only that, but I dread to think how long this is going to take to get contracts exchanged and completed based on how slow Blandy & Blandy are.

Also, it has nothing to do with Covid, as I can see from other reviews that people are having great times with Blandy & Blandy completing fast during covid.

This has caused so much frustration and ruined my timelines for many plans.

I will never use Blandy & Blandy. I warn others not too also, if any seller I am purchasing from in the future is using Blandy & Blandy I will request they change, or I will pull out of the purchase. I suggest others do the same.

I recently have spoken to the seller, and they have given me more information about the delays in 1 conversation than 5 months of waiting on Blandy & Blandy.
