Working with Bluebird Care Sheffield is an amazing job, fullfilling and rewarding and as much support as you could need. Staff are all really friendly and treat you with respect and understanding, really friendly place to work.
Thank goodness not all home care providers are not the same! After a previous very bad experience I vowed never to allow carers into our home again but our experience with Bluebird in Sheffield was entirely different. Unfortunately it was only for a very short period of time for EOL care but they actually seemed to listen and provide the help requested, whereas the previous agency acted as though they owned the place and we were their (below standard) employees left to clear up the mess and distress they caused on visits. They believed that as 'professionals' they were the experts and clients/their relatives knew nothing/were an inconvenience. Bluebird carers showed compassion and a genuine desire to help at a difficult time, and that is the support that is really needed when family is able to provide the majority of the practical/physical care themselves (which was, of course, offered and undertaken by the carers when appropriate). It's a shame that the majority of medical professionals lack the awareness that compassion can be as vital to patients' health and wellbeing as medication/treatment.
