Their incompetence, arrogance, and sheer lack of customer care know no bounds. I have never experienced such a failed system,in every aspect, and a constant stream of uncaring and patronising staff who seem to share one malfunctioning brain cell.

Housing
I moved here from Bedfordshire in 2017. On moving day, I discovered a major gas leak - I called out the National Grid, and was told it had been building for years, and could have taken out the whole street. And yet annual gas checks were apparently conducted.
The flat had dry rot, black mould from floor to ceiling, a toilet that blocked and flooded the floor constantly, and mice...lots of mice.
It took them most of these 9 years to fix basic issues, although they have completely left the dry rot, and the toilet still floods every time it rains. It took them 7 years to replace broken guttering ...and another year to fix the leaks in the replacement.
The usual pattern of events is: You report an issue; a surveyor attends; the surveyor agrees it needs fixing, and gives you a date for the repair; that date passes, so you contact the Council...who tell you they have no record of you ever reporting anything. Four years in, I gave up, and addressed my correspondence to the Chief Executive. Works orders were raised, and you would think that was the end of it...oh no...
The contractors they use turn up on the wrong date, with the wrong tools, for the wrong job...if they appear at all.
Take the mouse issue as an example: Their exterminators turned up, and I told them where the mice were coming through, and where the poo was. They set traps in completely different places. Obviously, no mice were caught. They then came back to rretrieve the traps, which they could see were useless. I was then told if I had any FURTHER issues, I could contact them again! So, further is more urgent than ongoing?!
If you do raise a complaint, you usually get a fool dealing with it who either cannot read or does not apply comprehension skills, and completely misses the point. You always have to escalate to a stage 2, and live in hope someone actually does their job.
The kitchens,bathrooms, heating systems and windows are all overdue to be replaced...and yet no update.... When I last had an inspector out to assess my kitchen, he said mobody could class it as such.

The Area
My street is not maintained well. Council hedges are left to grow right across the path. The dustmen drop more rubbish than they ever collect. Flytipping is left for months. The roads have huge potholes. The local park is filthy, with gas cannisters, glass and general rubbish all across it. The grass football pitches look like a rewilding project; and the stream that was clear and full of fish when I first moved here, is now full of black, thick algae. Even the shrimp that once enjoyed it crawled into the grass to escape the toxiins! This cesspit attracts flies and is a health hazard.

Safety
There seems to be no Environmental Health department, and no Highways department. I could bet we're getting charged for these through our Council Tax. I have reported banned dog breeds running loose in the park, people parking in gardens with no dropped kerb (and hedges so pedestrians cannot see them), and many loud parties into the early hours and beyond. I have NEVER had a reply.
In the allotments behind us, there have been 2 serious fires, with the Fire Brigade called, and billowing black smoke. The users of these allotments regularly set bonfires, on dry hot days, and usually at a time when peoples' washing is drying...but again Brent Council fail to act.

Contact
The online system works sporadically, but most of the time you will hit a glitch. They rarely answer the phone. Their contractors send lletters with spoof email addresses and phone numbers. Absolutely nothing works as it should.

Conclusion
This Council needs to be shut down, and started from scratch, with employees selected who actually give a damn and want to earn their wages. It is absolutely appaling in this day and age that they keep getting away with it. But of course, this will not happen. We should maybe all band together and take a collective action stand against them, and sue their asses.

If I had the choice to put zero stars, I would the most worst council you could ever be in. I want to change to another council. I wish I could so unprofessional and so disgusting they are unorganised

Actually it should be zero stars! I absolutely have to brace myself to call them. There has been a leak coming into my flat from the one above. I reported it 6 days ago, they came out 4 days ago, said they couldn’t find anything. It is now constantly dripping and they still won’t do anything. It takes at least 30 minutes to get through to the “customer service” team ( a misnomer if ever there was one) and then they say they will email property services and that they will come back to you…..but they don’t. You call the complaint line and they are too busy to answer so you are instructed to leave a message and they will come back to you….but they don’t.
I have spent almost 5 hours trying to get this sorted and I am no further forward and the worst thing is that NOBODY cares. Not the CEO Kim Wright ( who’s department won’t take calls from the public), not the customer service staff, not the property services people….this council is rotten to the core

not to mention that the bands we are all in have not changed since 1991 and those inspections were taken outside properties and not checked properly,only assumptions were made thus we have to bare the bills

My mother holds a valid Brent Council Event Day parking permit which does not expire until 2028. This permit is active, fully paid for, and clearly visible on the online system. Despite this, the parking attendant incorrectly insisted she was in breach of the rules. When my mother tried to explain the situation, the warden dismissed her validation, told her she would "just have to appeal," and issued the ticket anyway.

Vulnerable residents are being penalised and distressed due to either a failure in enforcement technology or more likely, a lack of proper training for wardens (in particular the rogue & malicious insider - Civil Enforcement Officer B1468)

NOISE POLLUTIONS { DOGS BARKING, XL BULLDOG WITHOUT MUZLE, PAVEMENTS FULL OF RUBBISH DAILY, CARS HONKING CONSTANTLY, DRUG USE IN GARDENS, ETC . . . } AND NOTHING IS BEEN DONE AT ALL . . .

i guess either people in brent are happy about their council tax
but how can you justify paying double the amount when one person has died
they did not delay,it seems courts and bailiffs are fundimentally is all about
service,what service does not take a genious to realise were the moneys going,
meaning other boroughs are getting on with life ,able to think of things to do and therefore create a future,
i would not be surprised if this was always the plan,one borough having to be the ditch in which we have drawn the short straw without knowing,every day im paying for something and wen you have paid it all they still want more,no other borough tenants are treated this way in london,brent is a death trap,whats the point of schools wen in fact there is nothing to live for except for paying bills,the voting hasnt helped much ,neither has labour,which granted the increase,it is inescaping misery ,no empathy no say,just pay,once they skin you alive on everything you need to survive then how can the tax basically be close to rentamounts,this quite new to me but ive learnt that they start you on a negative that way your trapped early,having a place to live has become a sadistic game for these people,government has not stepped in to help,instead left us for dead,i fear for this future .bleak london

awful shyte corrupt hear about some of the corruption their planning /housing department are involved in here;

In one planning /housing case, Over the period of five years, Brent Council by passed the planning system and endorsed local dodgy landlords , exploiting newly immigrated Brazilians, to the detriment of local homeowners, the already established community and conservation area of Homestead Park in NW2. They tried to steal a homeowner's property and pass multiple plans to turn the shared drive into a road. without a compulsory purchase order. The landlord/developer/applicants , who are minions of the corrupt admin cronies with Mr Butt submitted seven planning applications, including basement excavation and a new dwelling for the garden. Some applications were refused, others withdrawn, and one appeal was dismissed. Despite this, near-identical proposals continued to be resubmitted, enraging the local community, often with late changes after consultation periods closed. They continually mislead dissenters and didn't log objections correctly, and approved plans on false information. All applications received unanimous objections from neighbours.
During this time, the property operated as an overcrowded HMO, causing severe disruption. The shared driveway was repeatedly blocked by vehicles and mopeds, access to neighbouring homes was obstructed, and residents experienced ongoing disturbance and intimidation. Even enforcement bodies, including the Home Office, attended the property in question on multiple occasions.
The cumulative impact caused significant stress, loss of amenity, and financial cost to neighbouring residents. One directly affected neighbour was ultimately forced to move home, not due to construction, but due to years of uncertainty, harassment, and the failure of the planning system to resolve clear legal and access issues.
Residents continued to call for transparency, proper consultation, and an end to repeated applications that they believe are being used to wear down community opposition and set a dangerous precedent for shared driveways and garden developments.Unfortunatly they are just simply corrupt and acting ULTRA VIRES.
These underhanded tactics exploiting vulnerable people and extorting local homeowners are just some of the corrupt moves the staff in Brent make to take your money. They will certainly get their karma as their ship is capsizing. They have ruined this area and think they are above the law. they are not!

Hopeless at getting repairs done, especially estate maintenance, and incapable of communicating.

Missed two Council tax payments because i was out of the country for 5 months, came home and saw a red warning Letter and paid it off immediately. A couple days after i had RED WARNING letters from CDER bailiffs teling me theyre going to visit. im mindblown!
Council tax keeps increasing every year!!
-This money doesnt seem to be spent on waste mangement as bins are now collected every other week.
- London is so dirty
- There are so many potholes in the road
- I've called 999 and told them i cant breathe and they dont even deem it as an emergency
I called brent council over 10 times now to get this issue sorted and I've been on hold for 30 mins+. Today i called and the lady hung up on me mid way conversation and then i called again and as soon as i said 'hi' she hung up again. I recognise her voice and it was the same woman

Are you surprised that it was in BBC news that a child missed out taking there GCSE well it wasn’t only one child the local authorities did this too it was another child now his 18 years the mother made a complaint for a payout of £600 took it and because she had limited understanding due to language barrier the seriousness she did not understand as it should of been escalated to Obossman the boy is currently 18 years old with no GCSE no resources he has to retake and go to college this is also a child with SEN!! Brent has the worst SEN department for children with additional needs .. they hide they delay it’s all a tactic and they don’t follow the law they after failing to meet children needs !!

I was wondering how Brent Council is helping people in worst of worst. No helping at all, just pulling me down and stressing me to the core. This is unhealthy. Housing matter related me was discount and cheapining my living and no one wanted to help me. However hostility and stealing my credit was overlooked. Letting gradious people live and other suffer. No wonder I feel constantly unsafe and attacked and I encountered how Brent Coucil is allowing ignorance, violence and disparities.

Due many people, I was firstly terrorized and since time I enter UK, I did not enjoy housing.

Since past and mostly January 2025, I wrote multiple emails, follows up and in June 2025 my requests were more than enough related housing.

Hostile, toxicly grandious landlords is not way and ignoring me is not way either.

Can you explain me why way a hostile, slum, rouge landlords can easily take what is not theirs ?

Can you explain me , why you do not respond, when my connections are trying to follows up a same way as me ?

Can you explain me, while being outdated for na injustice, how is appealing to you a fact , that you present , that I can not have money or safety? How possible UK is always cult of others uneducated grandiosity and narcisstical dominance ruining me worst than under supreme leadership ?

Can you explain me , where is my privacy and autonomy ?

I feel horrific for experiences with Brent Council.
Horrific to write reviews like openly and reading and listening to selective injustice.

Businesses who you have connection doesn´t need to take my money, my living. All my money all always been used for wrong people. I unfortunately must give this -5 starts review and also I do not enjoyed all this ostracism.

To anyone considering using the bulky items removal service with Brent Council, I would strongly advise against it.

The collection is carried out by AnyJunk, and in my experience they were difficult to deal with and did not collect all of the items as expected. This resulted in unnecessary inconvenience and frustration.

Based on this experience, I would recommend looking into independent removal services instead.

One of the worse council cheaters live on people money making money issues of unfair tickets bastards thieves

“This is nothing more than a legally operating money-grabbing gang! £2235 a year for what exactly? Absolutely nothing! Parks are dirty, the grass is rarely cut properly – just look at Monks Park. Rubbish and mess everywhere.
And what do we actually get for this money? Basically just rubbish collection. But even that isn’t fully done by them, because residents are required to separate and sort the waste for selective collection. In other words, we do part of the work so it costs them less.I understand that staff need to be paid, but charging this much money for such poor service is simply not normal and completely unacceptable!”

My bin has not been emptied for 4 weeks now and I even went out to ask them this morning and they said there was a plastic bag in my blue bin so je refused again to take it I saw him emptying other bin and removing the bags of of them but not mine I didn't put any plastic bag in mine it my neighbour but why do I get mine not emptied im disabled and can't go out there going thro it??

Broken roads, potholes that have been neglected for far too long. No consideration for residents who drive their cars on these roads and having a high risk of accidents and punctured tyres.

Too slow to deal with this. If the road is unworthy then you shoukd communicate better to your residents and address this ASAP.

Just on the phone to Brent Council, regarding my council tax bill. Been waiting on the phone for the last 1 hour and 10 mins and still waiting to talk to an idiot. When i rang i was no.46 in line. Lol and i'm still bloody waiting. And they keep putting the council tax bill up. Train a monkey and it'll probably do a better job.
