As a tutor, I have really enjoyed working with Bright Heart. They really care about every child and tutor they work with. I have worked with Rosie the most - she is always easy to communicate with, is professional and efficient as well as genuinely caring about both me and the families I work with. Working one to one with children, tailoring the learning to their exact needs is so rewarding - pupils make amazing progress emotionally as well as with their learning. Highly recommend to other tutors and to parents.

The experience with Bright Heart has been fantastic. My son has dysgraphia and slow processing, both of which make classroom leaning difficult. His tutor has been understanding and has coaxed him out of his shell (as far as is ever possible with an autistic teen!). The interactive learning space works really well, and the monthly reports are incredibly detailed.

Bright Heart is, without question, the best education company I’ve worked with—and not by a small margin. What sets it apart is the culture: one that consistently recognises and validates the skills, experience, and judgement of its education specialists and tutors. That kind of professional trust is rare, and it shows in the quality of the work.

Carol, Rosie, Victoria and Rebecca, along with the wider team, strike an impressive balance—they are warm, approachable, and genuinely supportive, while also being organised, accountable, and clear in their expectations. They build strong, authentic relationships with both tutors and clients, managing to be both highly professional and refreshingly human.

There is also a clear depth of respect and understanding when it comes to neuro-affirmative practice, disability, and inclusivity more broadly. These are not treated as buzzwords, but as embedded, thoughtful principles that shape how students are supported and how tutors are trusted to apply their expertise. That level of insight and integrity makes a real difference.

The work itself is deeply rewarding. It’s a privilege to meet and support the children, their families, and the other professionals involved, and Bright Heart creates the conditions for that work to be done well. Effort and expertise don’t go unnoticed either: feedback is thoughtful and constructive, pay reflects experience, and there are meaningful incentives in place. Winning Tutor of the Month genuinely meant a great deal to me—it felt considered, not tokenistic.

It’s also a pleasure to see other tutors recognised and celebrated. Reading about their work is both grounding and motivating—it’s clear this is a team of people who take pride in what they do, and in doing it properly.

Sam has been tutoring my daughter since July 2025 and what a difference he has made. When she started with Sam she had zero confidence in her mathematical skills. Maths scared her. She had tried various maths tutors before but with zero success. She was just as confused as ever. Sam’s calm teaching style and his brilliant way of explaining mathematical concepts have changed her life. She can’t wait for her lesson with Sam so that she can finally understand what she has been learning all week at school. With the help of Sam she has improved her IGSCE maths mark from 4/5 to a 6 which is a massive improvement for her and has resulted in her being able to continue studying IB next year. Her confidence is so much better and she even uttered the words “I'm starting to like maths” which I never thought I would ever hear her say. Sam is a wonderful, professional and caring tutor and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He literally changes children's lives.

Brightheart Education has been consistently supportive and professional. Bright Heart has been a great organisation to work with. The training is very helpful and relevant and have certainly helped me to stay ahead in terms of SEN and SEND teaching.
Safeguarding and onboarding processes are robust and when working for them you do feel like you matter and are part of a wider team, delivering meaningful education, no matter the background of the student.

In terms of recording and celebrating student achievement, the delivery of reports is I'm sure reassuring for students and their parents, as we give session by session progress reports.

My experience as a tutor for Bright Heart has been wholly positive. I have been struck by the passion for person-centred education that I have found both in staff members and other tutors.

Bright Heart is not the first agency I have worked for, but it is the only one where I have received in-person CPD training on SEND, from people with huge, current experience in the field.

It is also the first agency where I have met fellow tutors at training and social events, which for me says that Bright Heart feels comfortable with its tutors knowing each other and swapping experience - this is great for personal development, getting ideas and a sense of team: everyone I have met recognises that Bright Heart offers something special - not just to its pupils, but also to its tutors.

Bright Heart employs education consultants, who are there to support parents, pupils and tutors. This might sound obvious, but it is not universal; for me, having someone experienced to talk to when I need to, means that I am able to do a better job. I am also aware that they read the reports that I write after each session.

When I signed up with Bright Heart, I was struck that I was required to demonstrate that I understood the person-centred process, which involved going through an online training programme and then writing essay-style answers to questions, which were then marked by a person, not an algorithm; and then I was required to meet someone from management in person, before I could go and tutor. Again, this sounds obvious, but it is not the case with other agencies, which can take a much more impersonal, tick-box oriented approach. The whole process took several weeks, which guarantees that anyone tutoring through Bright Heart is committed to the job they do, and adheres to the ethos of the organisation. Having now met several tutors at CPD and social events, I am confident that this applies to all of us, and the central Bright Heart team.

I have been working for Bright Heart for a number of years now. I have found them to be a company that is genuinely interested in helping tutors. Communication with staff is excellent and any queries or problems are swiftly dealt with. Unlike many tutoring companies Bright Heart are genuinely focused on finding an ideal fit between student and tutor, there is a wealth of training that is available and support offered to tutors is exceptional.

Working with Bright Heart Education has been a major turning point for my son. After years of educational disruption and unsuccessful placements, their team provided the stability, expertise and genuine care he urgently needed.

We were particularly impressed by Rebecca, the Education Consultant, who very quickly identified excellent tutor matches despite the complexity of my son’s subjects (Business, Economics and Psychology) and his specific sensory and anxiety-related needs. The tutors were not only subject specialists but also a perfect fit for his personality.

Communication has been excellent. Rebecca has shown remarkable persistence and professionalism, especially when navigating delays and administrative issues with the Local Authority. Without her proactive follow-up, my son might have missed the opportunity to sit his A-Levels this year.

The tutors themselves have been outstanding. My son connected immediately with them and their dedication has motivated him to work harder than ever before.

Bright Heart truly delivers on its promise of nurturing, personalised tuition. The detailed progress reports we receive after each session keep us fully informed, and the positive impact on my son’s confidence and learning has been significant.

As a tutor and mentor working for Bright Heart, they have been consistently communicative, approachable and supportive during my provisions by checking in frequently and responding to queries quickly, efficiently and thoroughly. I have used TES Develop to strengthen my understanding of pupils with SEMH and ADHD in particular, which has been extremely beneficial to my awareness in my practice as both a tutor and a mentor. Bright Heart upholds extremely high standards in relation to quality. They put a considerable amount of time and effort to ensure that the provision is the correct match between the child and the tutor/ mentor, and provide detailed information of the child’s needs both in an academic and a pastoral capacity, whilst also communicating a child's interests; particularly important for forming positive relationships and developing a young person's self-esteem. I have been able to collaborate seamlessly between Bright Heart, parents and schools to build awareness of how to bridge communication between relevant parties, to ensure the best outcomes for each child. Bright Heart staff from recruitment onwards have been incredibly friendly, approachable, receptive and positive and it has been a privilege to work for them. Bright Heart upholds very strong standards for inclusivity and a commitment to safeguarding by making sure that tutors, mentors, parents and pupils are kept informed of any potential barriers that child may face depending on their special educational need, demonstrating their belief in serving the whole child.

As a medical student, I’ve spent the last six to seven years navigating a very demanding degree. During that time, I’ve worked a number of different jobs, but tutoring with Bright Heart Education has been the role I’ve enjoyed the most by far. My studies require flexibility, and Bright Heart has been incredibly supportive in allowing me to balance tutoring alongside my academic commitments.

What has made the experience particularly special is the quality of both the students and the team. Bright Heart consistently pairs tutors with wonderful families and students, which makes the work genuinely rewarding. At the same time, the Bright Heart team themselves are some of the most supportive and responsive professionals I’ve worked with. Their communication, kindness, and warmth create a really positive environment where tutors feel valued and supported.

Tutoring through Bright Heart has also helped me grow personally and professionally. It has strengthened my communication, patience, and teaching skills - qualities that I know will be invaluable as I move forward in my career in medicine. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities and experiences Bright Heart has given me. It’s taught me a lot not only about working with others, but also about myself.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to Bright Heart and my son's tutor, Colleen Allen. Colleen Allen came into our family during a difficult time. We welcomed her with open arms. She has worked and continues to work with our son, Boris. He is 14 years old and has complex illnesses and diagnoses, but Colleen has always found a way to teach Boris. She uses so many ideas, art, and creativity to engage Boris, and she pours so much effort, energy, and love into teaching and helping Boris. We are so happy to have found such a caring and experienced tutor; we value her greatly! Every time she leaves after a lesson, we say or simply think how much we will miss her! She takes into account Boris's illnesses, characteristics, abilities, and potential, and does everything to overcome obstacles. I know that my son is safe, under reliable and confident protection, surrounded by care, and receiving the best opportunity for development and education. We love and appreciate her very much. She is our angel. High achieving daughter had stroke aged just 17yrs. 18 months later she is studying Math, chemistry and Biology. E has complex neurological problems but is 100% cognitive. Tutors have been equally amazing as E has and this is (E’s words) “when I am with my tutors I feel normal and like I was before my stroke”

It is not easy finding tutors who seem to make studying fun but I have now used Brightheart for my daughter who has ASD and ADHD and my younger son for
GCSEs. The tutors they provided have kept both children fully engaged and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Especially as both were disengaged and it was such a worry. They have happily done their tutoring sessions which is such a relief.
