The filters do a solid job at improving tap water taste and getting rid of the worst chlorine/odd smells, so I’ll give credit where it’s due—they’re decent enough for everyday use in my kitchen. I’ve been using Brita pitchers for years and they’ve never completely let me down on basic filtration.
That said, they’re nowhere close to something like a LifeStraw or other serious portable purifiers when it comes to removing bacteria, viruses, or really sketchy contaminants. If you’re looking for true backcountry or emergency-level protection, this isn’t it. The filters also seem to clog faster than they used to (especially with harder water), and the flow rate slows to a frustrating drip toward the end of their life. I wish Brita would make longer-lasting filters or offer a version with better sediment handling without jacking up the price so much.
It’s a convenient, affordable middle-ground option for city tap water, but there’s definitely room for improvement. Three stars feels fair—gets the job done, but doesn’t wow me.

Should it be dropped to counter or floor, it breaks.
Totally useless. Inept design. Avoid at all costs.
Update: Actually the lid popped from its clips and other half re-attached it. All good.

Ich hatte einen Wasserfilter von Brita samt Kartuschen geschenkt bekommen vor 2 Jahren. Mittlerweile muss ich neue Kartuschen bestellen, und wusste nicht mehr genau das Model und welche Kartuschen bestellen. Hatte schon mal vom Temu was falsches bestellt, und konnte es nicht mehr retournieren. Ich habe mich direkt an die Brita Deutschland Zentrale gemeldet, Mit freundlichen Grüßen

ik heb voor 157 EUR aan goederen besteld en betaald (in august) Ze hebben nog steeds niets geleverd. Ik ben ondertussen aan mijn 7de e-mail. Hun antwoord is altijd hetzelfde : "Wij hebben de verantwoordelijke afdeling nogmaals gevraagd om dit zo snel mogelijk te onderzoeken. Zodra een antwoord bekend is, nemen wij omgaand contact met jou op.

Hopelijk hebben wij jou met deze informatie van dienst kunnen zijn, en bedanken jou voor jouw begrip en geduld." En verder vermelden ze een gratis telefoonnummer dat in feite niet bestaat.
